The Battle for Slime King on Slime Mountain by MrTroy 2019-04-30T21:51:32Z

@jkazuk yeah sorry about that, we're fixing the Win/Loss bug right now! Hope you try it again once it's fixed!

The Battle for Slime King on Slime Mountain by MrTroy 2019-05-02T13:44:56Z

@lexyvil Hehe yes the Red team is a bit easier because I have my personal slime 'RIFK' on that team, and she's nigh unbeatable ;P @franciszek-pyrc sorry to hear you got a glitch :( If you exit and start the game up again it should work properly, though make sure you're using the bug-fix version. The jam one is a bit clunky

The Battle for Slime King on Slime Mountain by MrTroy 2019-05-02T15:57:35Z

@mrtroy lol I just gotta get stronger then

Seaway by Constantin 2019-04-30T13:40:04Z

This is absolutely gorgeous. So soothing and smooth, and so fitting for the theme.

Currently I'm working on a game that is trying to achieve this terraced-land-effect and I was wondering if you would be interested in connecting to talk about how you achieved it? It's truly lovely. :)

LD45 — Start with nothing

Soundmarine by Dustyroom 2019-10-09T16:00:46Z

Just gorgeous :O A real top contender for graphics! Loved the audio and the chill mood, though the gameplay itself was a tad dull

Flubby Farm by yazara 2019-10-09T13:57:20Z

This game is so addictive :O Had a lot of fun trying to get as many Flubbies as I could inside the range of the spells. Spent 15 mins farming flubs before work and I wish I had more time top play!

Words With Foes: Quest for the Lexinomicon by MattWoelk 2019-10-10T13:37:16Z

Awesome game guys! I'm so amazed at how well this turned out for such an ambitious jam idea! The graphics, sound and animations are all extremely polished and the gameplay is genuinely fun :)

TRIGGORE by Lumpy 2019-10-09T18:50:36Z

Really awesome work! Love the chunky look of the pixels. Really brought some retro vibes. I only made it to night 2 though because I was too stressed XoX

The Blue Girl by gamebuilder 2019-10-09T19:03:46Z

Very cool and moody. Awesome entry!

BitterSweet by Conroy 2019-10-09T15:26:18Z

Fun little experience! I'm not sure exactly why I sometimes got candy and sometimes got witches and I could go back to some houses to knock again but not others? I got 45 candies though which is legit. Had to turn off the sound because the witches cries were too loud.

Faze by Xenoxygene 2019-10-09T16:22:31Z

Excellent in-game tutorial! Captured the theme perfectly :)

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-07T22:10:05Z

@thepiratenun yeah that is my one regret that I wasn’t able to figure out how to make objects not block your view when dragging them >_< thank you for rating though!

@fictions thank you! :3

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T04:14:27Z

@banjaxe I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t able to finish the game on account if the camera :( That was something I was trying to fix for several hours. Learned a lot about cameras at least! Maybe I can make a post-jam build that fixes the camera issue so you can finish it.

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T12:46:01Z

@mrtroy im so glad you were able to play to the end! ^o^ yeah I would definitely change aspects of the design given another day but alas!

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T18:17:10Z

@almighty-games @dr4g0nsoul @itsdanidre @susumu-asaga @kekkodude thank you all so much for your feedback :) I'm very glad you like the art and music! We worked really hard on making the game as cute as possible! As for the camera, that was a part we really struggled with. However, I've released a post-jam version that completely fixed the camera issue and makes it actually finishable hehe. It's on the itch.io game page if you're interested ^_^

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T21:04:35Z

@palinalif thank you! I thoroughly appreciate that you read the instructions hehe

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T21:33:14Z

@yaen Thanks! :D Yeah I had toyed with the idea of having them stick in their final position, but then what happens if someone picks up the scredriver first, when that's supposed to be the top item? Does it just float there? I didn't have time to design different permutaions that would work so I went with this approach. I'm so glad you had fun ^_^

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-08T21:34:10Z

@baconsenpaii thanks so much for playing! Yeah I tried to get as much polish as I could such as the splashes and some dynamic audio. Yeah the camera was a struggle haha

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-09T13:59:14Z

@almighty-games Did you try climbing to the top of the central pillar? The objective of the game is only shown once you go up there. I had assumed that people would try to escape the tidepool through there, but looks like some people didn't get my implications. U_U Needed more playtesting I suppose.

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-09T14:00:20Z

@joel-davis THanks for playing! :D GLad you liked it hehe. Did you go up to the top of the central pillar? And yeah we had the opportunity to make the climbing less springy but it felt more fun this way ;P Less strategic, certainly, but fun!

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-09T14:35:16Z

@squeele thank you! :D We really appreciate it

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-09T16:23:59Z

@crazyhomeboys I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I really put my heart into the colors and lighting and environment of the game, and I'm happy it came through ^_^ I look forward to making you new games to enjoy for every future jam!

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-09T18:50:59Z

@hkspadez thank you! :)

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-09T22:39:24Z

@dikkop thank you! Glad you liked it! :D

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-10T19:10:32Z

@bilalch213 thank you! Yeah the controls were odd haha.

@humphreysmedia thank you! Yeah the movement could be better for sure :P Tell Elysia hi from me ^_^

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-10T19:55:01Z

@mr-bold Thank you! We really appreciate it ^o^ And yeah if you want to play a more polished version the post-jam version is a lot more playable hehe

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-10T21:58:54Z

@joellikespigs thank you! :D Yeah the climbing mechanic is a bit strange, basically your claw sticks to wherever you click on the ground/walls. Your body moves towards the point. If both claws are grabbing the walls, your body will move to the midpoint, so the idea is to kind of shimmy up walls one claw at a time :P If you want to try a less-painful version I'd highly reccomend the post-jam build. It solves a lot of the original issues. Also hehe I dodn't mean to put a face on a rock >o< maybe just a weird coincidence? Glad you liked it though!

TidePool by Rebecca Harrison 2019-10-29T15:50:38Z

@ava-skoog yeah sorry :( I haven't been able to get it to run on Mac. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. A friend had tested it and said it worked but now I'm not sure what they did.

LD46 — Keep it alive

WAVER by Skyeward 2020-04-21T03:58:37Z

Very cool and unique premise. Extremely smooth gameplay and a lot of fun. Great idea!

From Dusk Till Dawn by Nikolay Zapolnov 2020-04-21T04:13:01Z

Awesome game! Super hard, and I'll definitely give it another shot when I'm less tired haha. I want to experience what the levels are like with all the body parts.

Dog's Best Friend by MattWoelk 2020-04-21T20:35:31Z

Had a lot of fun fussing over my human :) The animations and environment were lovely and he gameplay was very well done!

SPECIAL MEAT for a special boy by LethalTurtle 2020-04-23T20:28:20Z

Art style is superb! I was a little confused at first but it became easier the more I played. Love love love the spooky aesthetic. Only critique is that it was tough to keep track of the monster hunger bar since it was off to the side. Maybe it could have changed the overall colors or begun to glow when the monster is getting really hungry? Otherwise, super fun game :)

MACHINA by Harry Alissavakis 2020-04-21T15:21:01Z

Such an awesome, polished game! I loved the snarky AI and the gameplay was super engaging. I'd have played longer if I hadn't had to work haha.

I also wanted to say I really appreciate all you do for the Unity community :) You got me to learn more about shaders and it's been a wonderful tool in my kit.

VURM by AndrewJAdams 2020-04-21T03:22:08Z

The twitch integration was fantastic!!!Super innovative and smooth,

Motion Potion by Aphid98 2020-04-21T02:27:49Z

Wonderful game! Super creative and fun! Sorry I couldn't beat it :')

Unidentified Farming Object by synoxgames 2020-04-21T03:02:58Z

A solid entry :) Lots of fun but a bit stressful. I wish I could have made use of the crafting section but I couldn't leave my plants ;P

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-21T14:59:47Z

@cheesepencil @phpgator @cbarkinnies @gno-evenimente @winterbeak @no-grapes-games @torn @anoushcat

Hey guys :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the game! From your comments it sounds like you could use a hint though.

-Watch how long the lights stay on for. They'll alert you if you've gone the wrong way. -If you run out of light, visit your ghost friend. -There are three levels of basement, and then one level below that...

Thank you so much for playing, and I hope you'll give it another shot to see the ending ^_^

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-21T18:10:23Z

@splitpainter I'm so glad you liked it, and that your wife did too! If you ever feel like you're on the wrong path, watch how long the lights are on for. If your light goes out, visit the ghost. :)

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-21T18:48:37Z

@devastus thank you! It's very interesting. Either people figure out to watch the lights or they don't. We considered putting in helper text but the people who figured it out themselves had a very meaningful experience, so we decided to leave it. Better to have some people Love it than to have everyone Like it :P

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-21T21:46:38Z

@radow Thank you! I created materials in Unity that would be projected onto them instead of being UV mapped, so I could use pieces more modularly. It saved a ton of time, and then some procgen placement of objects took it the rest of the way. So glad you found the light ^_^

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-22T14:10:30Z

@rusty-jim thank you so much for the glowing review! We really appreciate it ;u;

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-22T14:12:28Z

@peachtreeoath thank you for the in-depth review :) We've been thinking about small ways to improve the experience and your input was very valuable in that effort. Also haha I'm glad you enjoyed the GIF story. I was proud of it ;P

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-22T18:02:47Z

@aryanjumani Haha sorry it took so long for you to find it ;P Glad you had fun though!

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-22T18:03:35Z

@dane-tesla We did consider pop-up text but felt it harmed the overall mood of obscure, creepiness. A teleport function would be a good idea haha

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-22T19:11:17Z

@aryanjumani I modeled, rigged and animated him in Blender 2.8 Doggo 3D model.png

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-22T21:19:21Z

@masterpose So glad you liked it! Not everyone figures out the lights thing. We considered making it more obvious but we felt that having people figure it out for themselves was a better experience.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-23T16:13:41Z

@aaranos There are some hints here on the LDJam game page:

There are three levels of basement. You need to keep going down. The amount of time the lights stay on is a clue you’re on the right/wrong path. If your light goes out, talk to the ghosts.

@overmolo Yes that is absolutely part of the game :) Each of your barks uses up the light on your lightbulb. You refill it with the ghost people.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-23T16:18:59Z

@daria-toni Glad you liked the visuals :) The lights stay on longer when you're on the right path, and are shorter on the wrong path.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-23T20:07:01Z

@joemid Thank you so much for playing! Yeah the story is definitely up to your interpretation, and even we developers don't have a cohesive idea of what it is. However, that's what I like about it. Everyone has their own idea.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-23T20:29:23Z

@artist-hidihojoe Thank you! Did you notice that some rooms stay lit for longer? That is a clue if you're going the wrong way, so you don't have to go in the dark :)

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-25T02:44:41Z

@meme-310 I'm so glad you found the exit!! Congratz!!

@g-a-gamestudio Actually we've been holding off on making a Mac build because we aren't able to get notarized by Apple's security. Do you find that most of the LDJam games are flagged by security? Is that normal and acceptable to players with Macs?

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-25T03:40:37Z

@g-a-gamestudio ah very interesting! We’ll see what we can do regarding a Mac build ^_^ and we used Unity.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-26T20:48:59Z

@g-a-gamestudio So we tried to make a WebGL build but the basement came out upside down??? Maybe next time >_<

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-27T21:05:15Z

@g-a-gamestudio I've put the dog model up on Sketchfab for free download :) It's got all the rigging and animation in there so hopefully it's helpful! [DogModel_Sketchfab.png](https://skfb.ly/6S66W)

@zubspace I'm glad you enjoyed it! Actually, we're working on a post-jam version with some story O_O

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-04-28T15:17:48Z

@attala :D I;m so glad you and your daughter enjoyed the game! We're working on a post-jam version that fixes many of the issues people have brought up, and makes it much easier to not get lost :P

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-05-07T15:46:40Z

@joamd thank you! :D And yep that was our interpretation of the theme

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-05-07T17:00:20Z

@plutonium-powered I used transparent hair cards :) Doggo 3D model.png

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-05-07T21:40:47Z

@weeping-rupee thank you so much for playing! I really appreciated your thorough playthrough. :) It was a lot of fun and very helpful to watch you talk out loud as you figured it out.

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-05-12T13:43:57Z

@honest-dan Thanks Dan! No worries :P We made a post-jam build that helps out players who get stuck... but is also even spookier O_O Gonna release it after results drop

Lamps by qkjosh 2020-05-12T19:27:46Z

@mika-la-grand thanks for playing! In the postjam build we made it so you have 20 seconds after running out of light, then you respawn at the beginning of the level. Hopefully it should solve people getting totally stuck haha. The new build should be up after the results drop.

DIABLOW: Savior of the Damped by SubtlyDramatic 2020-04-22T14:13:40Z

Cool short game :) The sound was a bit loud but the puns made up for it. Great job for a first individual game!

Don't Go Grandpa by Ignacio Zamorano 2020-04-21T03:33:32Z

Love the graphics. I feel bad. I couldn't save grandpa. No matter how many times he died. ;o;

Faire L'Amour aux Plantes by Jenny Bourke 2020-04-21T03:11:21Z

Hilarious game! So much fun to play it on stream! I don't want to talk about what happened at the end though... >_>

Disco Boy by Llamallove 2020-04-21T02:47:12Z

Really fun game! I loved the motif and the mechanics were very tight and responsive.

just a boring topdown shooter by Kinshuk_thebest 2020-04-21T03:43:46Z

I see you there with your political backstory. You got me. Very cool premise and fun game.

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-23T20:50:29Z

So wonderfully tactile and creative! Awesome premise and the execution is top notch :D

Absolutely gorgeous game!! Super zen and relaxing. great audio too.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Purgatory is a Music Store by MattWoelk 2020-10-05T21:44:42Z

@jag thank you so much! ;o; We were really hoping the game would resonate with people despite not having very much in the way of gameplay. Matt & Julian worked really hard to make the harmonies work and feel like you're really playing along to a song. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Purgatory is a Music Store by MattWoelk 2020-10-18T03:12:06Z

@elysiagriffin hehe yeah Matt is awesome :) We all had chill vibes this year hence the chill game

Quivering by SandPile 2020-10-05T21:02:39Z

Great game! I really liked the moment where you realize you can also shoot the around the loop too. Nice graphics and the audio was very good. I couldn't get past the first jumping level for some reason? Not sure if I was doing something wrong.

Saisons by Gaming Night 2020-10-12T19:50:19Z

Wonderful, minimalist art! So soothing and special. I feel wasn't able to make any changes in the world with my flute, and got stuck on the final sanctuary, even though my notes were correct? Either way, I really enjoyed the game and am all chilled out now

The Curse of Cattenburg by Honest Dan 2020-10-09T20:29:47Z

Absolutely fantastic! Well balanced and super polished :) You guys did a great job

Need More Space by wheatleyscience 2020-10-06T14:12:47Z

Very fun :) I loved the ramping difficulty and the graphics were very well done

Spirit Journey by theStoff 2020-10-06T20:18:06Z

A lot of fun and the character dialogue is really nice and polished ^_^ Very cool mechanic too. It works well with the tight platforming.

Recursive Arena by Becher 2020-10-06T17:15:24Z

Very fun game! Unique and definitely fits the theme. I'd have loved to have seen it get crazy with many many characters.

Lucky Lefty Loves Loops by TheBookSnail 2020-10-06T22:08:54Z

I only got 40 seconds >_< It was really fun though and incredibly chill! I did the whole game in reverse and achieved Nirvana.

The Titan's grave by BadPiggy 2020-10-12T19:25:01Z

Super fun game! At first I was worried it would be a bit repetitive but it definitely ramped up in difficulty after the first stage. Awesome entry!

Looper by Shortbread 2020-10-08T13:43:00Z

wow this is so insanely polished! Got too hard for me towards the end but that's fine :) It was enormously fun to play.
