I really like the graphics style and it's surprisingly fun to play!
A solid entry :) Lots of fun but a bit stressful. I wish I could have made use of the crafting section but I couldn't leave my plants ;P
I liked the music. The base reminded me of some demoscene sounds.
Quite stressful and angst inducing for me, but _in the right kind of ways_. Balance may need tweaking.

@terristen yeah I didn't realize it would be super stressful. I got good at it when making it and didn't have any beta testers. I wanna work on it outside of Ludum Dare so I'll definitely look into tweaking it
Could use some shadows on the 3D models but I liked the art style!

@lectvs Thank you! and yeah I wanted the colours to be bright so I was using a shader to make it bright but at the cost of no shadows :((
I really like it! The graphics are stylized and the music is very nice to listen to. Pretty hard too! Great idea, perfect execution, all in all a solid entry!
I can tell a lot of effort went into the game. The game over screen was well done and it did a great job capturing the style that the game was going for. Even the music fits the style well, although I am personally not a fan of this style. For the most part though the gameplay felt similar to speedrunning. There were many features implemented, but at the cost of there not being much polish and the main gameplay being stretched thin. Some features such as the upgrading system will probably not be used due to the main gameplay not being balanced. Overall, I feel that the game isn't very playable and it was a good idea, but I feel like there were too many features added that weren't fleshed out.
@shugor I definitely see where you’re coming from, on paper the idea sounded easy to do in the 3 day span but when I got into it I realised it was much harder than I was thinking. I do want to add to it and flesh out the game much more than I did for the jam. Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback :)
I like the concept! The mechanics were easy to figure out and the goal was simple. Definitely conveyed the stress of trying to keep the alien alive! I can't say I ever managed to last long while playing, but some balancing to timing would help. Solid work.
I liked it, but it was a bit too difficult for me, even on the easiest difficulty. I would really like to try the upgrade system but I was already struggling with keeping my crops alive, let alone the alien. The water pipes are sometimes pretty hard to click because the hitbox is fairly small. Some sort of hunger meter would also be really helpful :). Other than that I liked the art and music!

Damn this is the dark souls of farming games. I loved all of the sound effects and especially that awesome start screen but I found the easy difficulty for me at least to still be really tough. Overall an amazing game which is defiantly one of my favourites so far. :D
The game was very challenging even on the Easiest setting. Found it difficult to water the plant in time before it died. One thing I think would greatly improve the game would be to make the water can unlimited. It is hard enough to have more then one crop alive let alone be running out of water. Like the art and sound effects, but the game play was just not enjoyable for me.
@simpathey The difficulty is something that will need tweaking, during development I got really good at the game and it didn't cross my mind that others may find the game quite difficult. The unlimited water bucket is an upgrade but what's the point of an upgrade system no one can reach? I'll definitely look at fixing the difficulty of the game and properly balancing it! Thanks for the feedback :)

Gonna have to agree with everyone else on the difficulty - this was unfortunately way too hard for me to fully enjoy. Aside from that I could see that there was a high level of polish put on the production - the main menu looked particularly nice, and the alien death sequence got a chuckle out of me.
@epicular would you replay it if I tweaked the difficulty?

This game is brutal lol, I think the plants definitely need to last longer as the game is quite difficult. Fun concept though, and I liked the music and the art. The alien ragdolling when it dies was hilarious too lmao

Visuals are nice, there is a lot of content and it is developed. There are upgrades and alien even has a death animation. Wanted to play more but was slapped in the face with difficulty.
Minor nitpicks: Mouse a bit too sensitive, sounds a bit too random. (sensitivity and sound sliders would help, since smoother mouse and better fitting sounds would probably take too much time)
Main issue is with timings, and maybe their clarity - the game is really unforgiving - have to water plants too often, they die too quickly anyway, alien starts wanting new things or even dies before old ones are done.
Not sure how much time I have before I have to water the plant, not sure if I can just feed the alien what is convenient or do I have to feed specific stuff. Would probably figure this stuff out as I played more, feels too demanding to try.
V2 somewhat addressed the issue, but the alien still dies before the longer crops are done. So the game goes like this - he wants a crop, I plant it (dont want to plant more than one because managing water becomes too much). Water, chill, all good. He starts wanting another crop, ok plant that too, still managing. If first crop was a fast one, thats about the time it matures and gets fed. But if the second or third crop he wanted is a long growing one, he dies before the crop is ready. Also don't feel like I ever have time to even check the upgrades, much less decide on what I would want to upgrade if I made it that far.
Overall plenty of good content, but it is heavily gated by unforgiving time limits. Better sounds and smoother mouse might have helped with replayability, which would at least somewhat alleviate the difficulty issue. Also adjusting the timers would have helped. So basically I think it would have benefited from more polish with less content. Still very impressed by how much content you managed to put in.

This was a cool entry! The gameplay reminded me a bit of minecraft, but with a lot more time pressure. The graphics were well done, and the intro/game over screens were awesome! It would have been great to have music during the rest of the game too, but I understand there are time limitations. Like the others I had trouble with the difficulty, I'm guessing if you do well enough early game to start getting upgrades then it gets a lot more manageable, but at least for me I could never get that far. Other than the difficulty though this felt really polished. Nice work!
@nonumbersgames thank you so much for taking the time to not play my game but leaving this detailed feedback, it means a lot. I was planning to add in the sensitivity slider but I left that part too late. I definitely feel I should’ve spent less time on adding features and spend more time polishing. I also should’ve made certain parts of the gameplay more clear such as the cravings just to be there as an extra part. I want to try work more on this game and polish it more since I found this project to be really fun to work on. Thank you again for the feedback!
Great work, I was working on very similar game a while back so Im impressed that you managed to create this in 72 hours good job! I loved the menu with the 3d text and overcooked like gameplay.
Great game! Fun to play but even on 'Normal' it's pretty unforgiving haha. The Alien was changing his mind about food very often and the plants needed to be watered too often to :P Overall pretty good though, just needs some timing tweeks
Nice game! Had to turn it down to easy to get any crops to grow, but I have a feeling that has to do with me sucking at this game. very well put together, nice graphics. Just a heads up: There is an issue with one of your menus on your v2 build, when selecting difficulty the tutorial menu shows up underneath and its a bit tricky to get out of the menus. Great game and nice work!
