Awesome work! I like the loop mechanic. The art and music is great and the controls feel really good. It's a really well executed and fun game.

Art was really nice!

This game was really fun. Great platformer that had tight controls. I like how it was kind of a puzzle + platformer at the same time. I hope you continue this game because it said that there was deeper to go and I was actually hoping for more gameplay that I enjoyed it that much.

All in all great job! Super fun game!

Wonderful art and an intriguing mechanic! I was looking around for a way to accelerate the bar (the game has a lot of waiting when you know the solution), so I mashed my keyboard... and the game froze. I was able to figure out that R triggered the stone thing and K paused the game. You might want to write those down somewhere.

Also, great job on the coding, it ran well and wasn't a huge file. (I am happy not to have another copy of Unity on my hard drive. ;))

This is an extremely polished entry! Mechanics were fun, great work!

really great music in a very fun game

joskerdu 2020-10-06 01:10

Nice twist on the loop. Loved the intro - very cool.

nohua 2020-10-06 01:14

Very creative mechanic! I am pretty impressed. Could really expand this into a full game and make some clever stuff with this.

syafire 2020-10-06 01:55

This game was beautiful! The graphics were absolutely breath taking. The stone statue mechanic was incredibly clever. The level design was also done well. The music matched well with the visuals and fit the atmosphere nicely. The only critique I have is a button to reset the statues.

lelulagames 2020-10-06 04:27

I loved this game design. The puzzles were fun, and just the right amount of difficult. I really appreciate the fact that you added the turn to stone button, but I would have liked a reset key for the room as well. It was really frustrating to be three in, miss your mark and turn to stone, then have to go through the whole thing again. The audio was pleasant, but very low volume so I barely heard it even with headphones and my speakers turned all the way up.

This game is amazing and for the fact that it was created in only 3 days, it is extremely polished. The art style and music are so beautiful, but the music volume bar was a bit irritating, because the volume was not fully turned up from the beginning, but the bar showed it that way. Thanks anyway for my ears not exploding at the first start. It was a lot of fun.

Very very solid work.

Visuals and music are just amazing, and the gameplay is very engaging and really challenging. I´m really impressed with how polished it is. Maybe add some way of knowing the order in which the statues will break so you don't have to keep track. Very very entertaining overall, definitely has potential to be a full game.

rebecca-harrison 2020-10-06 20:18

A lot of fun and the character dialogue is really nice and polished ^_^ Very cool mechanic too. It works well with the tight platforming.

riwmd 2020-10-07 00:05

Allaround polished excellent entry. Kudos to the team!

I played this on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/timbeaudet hope you enjoyed that feedback!

I have to be honest. I am really starting to get fed up with this "Use your past self" mechanic. The game itself is well made. I just really had enough of this mechanic.

j0ye 2020-10-07 15:55

Stunning graphics and i like the story. Sadly the concept was way over done in this jam. Tho your entry was definitely one of the best.

kyrio 2020-10-08 12:52

Hello Mr Stoff and team! I tested the jam version out of fairness. This was a really nice looking game, the pixel art and animations were really pleasant and detailed. The concept is cool and you managed to bring in a lot of variety for a jam game. One gripe I had with it is that the gameplay felt somewhat slow, due to a slight delay when jumping but also the animation and running speeds. I feel like increasing these would give a better play feel. I think the timer is a bit frustrating considering you already have to die + backtrack very often, I don't think it's entirely necessary. Otherwise, I thought the music was fitting and very polished, but the first time I started the game I had no audio at all even though the volume was supposedly at max level. Good work

Very nice game, I love the idea and the visuals are great!

jitspoe 2020-10-11 04:02

I absolutely love the character art! The challenges felt fair, and the timer sort of encouraged running after the first solution that popped into my head instead of overthinking it. Put a little pressure on, but not too much. Really solid entry. I feel like the concept might have matched one of the older LD themes a little better: "Sacrifice", I think it was. I was thinking of doing this mechanic for that one. Solid execution of it, though! I tried to break it, and it seemed there were solid failsafes.

mrtroy 2020-10-11 04:41

Wow. I just sat down and played this. This is excellent work for the timeframe. It was very difficult for me (since I'm terrible at platformers) but it wasn't frustrating enough to make me rage quit. I made sure I got all the way through. :D

tricky-fat-cat 2020-10-11 17:39

The main idea isn't new for this jam, but it's extremely polished. Art is gorgeous, sounds make great atmosphere, very good game.

roikku 2020-10-11 17:52

Wonderful art :)

I enjoyed this! Really nice setting and presentation - I enjoyed the setting and intro. The puzzles theirselves were pretty good, not too challenging. The main problems for me from a gameplay perspective was: 1) you were unable to reset the level (frustrating if you badly misplaced a statue that blocked your level progress) and 2) like with most puzzle games of this nature, you know what you need to do in some puzzles and it feels a chore to know "I have to run and die in that spot 3 times to complete the puzzle". The second point was less of an issue in some of the more intricate puzzles. Really solid entry, great level of polish!

snowdrama 2020-10-14 00:53

Great game, art and music were great, definitely a bit of a massive difficulty spike towards the end timing the jumps between the bullets were either too close together or too difficult without any audio cues. Of my total play time I spent 75% of that time just beating this room alone(15 minutes on the bullet room vs 5 minutes on everything else). Biggest complaints is it's possible in some puzzles to die then have to do the whole puzzle set up again by dying in 3 other spots first then fully resetting. Definitely need a reset button, because it can be challenging to find other spots to die where they aren't in the way. Nice game.

rhoka 2020-10-15 02:03

Beautiful entry to the jam! The art and music was so well done! and puzzles difficulty curve felt just right to me. I didn't feel that the last room was as hard as some people think, but everyone is at different levels. The only thing I would say is that you should probably tell more explicitly what the "quick die" key is. Also I wish there was a way to hard reset a level and break all statues at once if you mess up. Overall wonderful job!

frozentape 2020-10-16 10:33

Wonderful artwork, and the spirit realm on the whole reminded me of Hollow Knight, a game I very much enjoy! Excellent atmospheric music too! The statues of the player's past selves started to create quite a creepy atmosphere for me as they built up - perhaps not intended but an awesome element adding to the mood! :grinning:

666savior 2020-10-25 00:20

Amazing game, the artwork and music is beautiful. Lack of WASD control was a little strange and the difficulty spike at the end was a bit extreme. Other than that, a wonderful game
