Very nicely done. the writing had me chuckling throughout, the gameplay was engaging and explored the mechanics thoroughly without being repetitive. I love how large of a level you were able to fit into a relatively small screen.

I'm slightly curious about the aspect ratio of the game window. The height actually didn't fit on my smaller monitor, and I feel like with a very slight redesign of the world you could make something more friendly to horizontal monitors.

The writing's superb, this level of camp humor and constant predictable pranks somehow feel perfectly cockroachy in itself. Only thing I felt was missing is some conditional dialogue for, say, trying to squish krilgor or the questgivers.

When I first saw the tweezers, I was expecting them to be much more difficult to use. They're large, the hitboxes they're trying to hit are tiny (especially the worms at the start), and the perspective doesn't lend itself to careful aiming. But I was immediately pleasantly surprised at how little effort it was to squish things.

It could be that I'm a messed up human being, but for the ending I was ready to squish krilgor. Maybe have a dialogue along the lines of "oh god what are you doing get those away from me" where the only way to proceed is to squish him. That may have been a lot harder to design properly though, and the current ending's pretty good too.

I really enjoyed this title. Keep up the good work, sheep.

not really challenging but good writting and really fun lines!

Very fun! That ending though, poor krilgore :worried:

Solid entry. It is well thought out. One minor nitpick is that at some point I needed to press the Caps Lock key to make a progress, but it was disabled on my PC (as an old school Unix user I reassigned it for Control). Eventually using the screen keyboard did the trick.

This is awesome! I didn't expect much and came for the Game Boy graphics but the game is actually really great. It's rare to find an actually funny entry on LD. What I especially liked was how you kick off the game by having the player find the main character. That part gets you right into the game's world.

The graphics work pretty well, especially that nasty tweezers animation when you squash something. Character design is fitting, especially the boss. The weak point here is the car that looks kind of generic.

Sound effects are really nice, but the game definitely lacks some music.

Gameplay-wise I have three things I would like to address:

First I was able to kill the guards before getting the task to do so which lead to a hiccup when I actually got there. An easy way to solve this would be to hide parts of the game that are not accessible yet by a blank screen.

Second, I think the game crashed when I defeated the boss. I couldn't move my character and he wasn't saying anything. I was able to use the tweezers but couldn't figure out what to do with them. I'll probably replay the game with my daughter, so we can check whether it works a second time.

Third, the boss fight itself. It would have been so much cooler if you could have put the car down away from the boss and see it run him over. I had to try a few times to actually get the crash right, so I was confused for a bit. But it was still clear what to do, so it's not a big deal.

Overall I enjoyed the game very much.

Wow, one of the best compo entries a see so far! Really loved this idea of a game! Its has some really fun gameplay, with very imaginative level design and a very good humor as well!! Great job and i hope you can keep up with this game! =D

Cool idea for a world/setting in a game, and how to approach it gameplay-wise. I think this could be expanded somehow.

I have no real complains about this entry, I enjoyed playing it through and the humor was great.

gehehehehe~ I have capslock disabled so I softlocked the game! Luckily it's no problem to toggle capslock with GNOME Tweak Tool, but perhaps it would be wise to switch that to a different key, or allow enter to pass through any of the dialog?

Otherwise, a cute little game, I enjoyed it. gehehehe~

OMG, what a bugging game! I definitely love it! The game is full filled of humor conversation and well shaping personality of bug! I'm definitely enjoy of it. My favorite game so far, well done!

This was really a fun game with really nice writing, hehehehehehe. ;)

I was surprised how many different stuff you have made that were interactive, too!

powerspark 2017-05-11 05:06

Great humor haha great game. I didn't find any bugs... *wink wink*

The concept was unique and the writing/ending was nice :D Good progression, love the inventory feature *cough*

Nicely done!

I really enjoyed this, I loved the fact that you have to control the magnifying glass and the tweezers, while guiding your little friend through puzzles. Concept was very well done. The Art and effects were quite amazing as well. You have a thing for dialogue and puns. (..and I'm a sucker for a good pun)

It would of been nice to have a key to return the magnifying glass to your tiny friend, but the arrow is a nice touch so you don't lose him. :)

WELL DONE.

Hah, very funny and cute game. Graphics work great and the sound is pretty perfect, I like the Beavis and Butthead laugh. Gameplay isn't really super exciting but the atmosphere and writing more than makes up for it.

impbox 2017-05-16 11:12

Really enjoyed what I could play of it so far! Capslock issue blocked me from completing the game, my wireless keyboard doesn't seem to send through an event on capslock press. =( Art was simple but effective, vocal sound effects were cute and not annoying. Some music would have been nice but I didn't really miss it. Humour was great! I felt immersed in the little world.

ptsnoop 2017-05-16 20:11

The game told me to give you a message.

But apart from that - very good game. Had me gripped from the "Just kidding, I don't have an inventory". :P

This is really entertaining, and the mechanic is really unique and interesting. It's an excellent, very well constructed compo game, hard to find particular fault with. If I had to nitpick at all, I'd say the car was harder to use than necessary - that is, it took me several times dropping the car on the giant bug before I managed to do it at the correct angle, or whatever, and the game acknowledged it. But that's a minor point.

Loved the ending, as well, very funny.
