Even although there are no character animations, I liked the visuals. Also the music fits the game nicely.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Aniyah

wow those enemies are quite upsetting aren't they
it was fun but I feel like the time limits are a bit short given the size of the areas
Beautiful graphics and story. Very nice twist at the end. Great game!
Gute game! i like ze warfog and ze ambiantz!!
Loved the style and music. Weapon felt a bit too op because i can just spam it and kill anything in shooting direction. Maybe limiting travel distance of bullet would make it less powerful.
Really liked the dynamic of bullets lighting up the play area.
I enjoyed playing the game, it really felt like a finished product. I liked the characters, art style, and music was fitting. Also it was impressive that the levels were randomly generated (or it seemed like that). That made it a bit harder to find the generators though, the levels seemed like a maze (I ended up using a maze-strat - following one wall until I find what I'm looking for lol). And the darkness made it a lot harder bc the enemies are able to one-shot you from the dark, so I had to fire the gun randomly while walking through darkness, but it was ok overall.
Also, I can't believe this grandma would do something like that
I love the setting and the sound effects! Really solid and fun game that pulls me in. I would really like to see this made into a full game!
The concept is good. :)
Maybe a little tricky, as you only have one hit the you die, Awesome art by the way. Overall a pretty fun game!
More lives pleaseeee. Just joking. Great entry.
Straightforwards kind of game, though I do wish there were some kind of checkpoint after each room cleared or a health system in place, getting one shot is not very enjoyable. There should also be subtle hints in the environments to make the nodes easier to find, like arrows in a dead end that would at least point to where the node relative to it. I do like the atmosphere of the game, and I like how you handled the darkness. The little droid buddy is a flashlight, and the shots light up the dark so it is recommended to keep shooting. If that was to balanced a heat meter could be put in along with the health to have a more balanced experience. Characters were simple but sweet, I do not see a Grandma AI often. Good work!
i was able to find the first two just on time, and failed the third, but managed to continue. died 3 times in boss battle. i sorta fired lights all the way through cause it's unlimited, killing all enemies in the way. and lighting things up. don't know if it's right way to play though XP. Good music and lovely story ~
nice arena shooter, having the character floating is nice trick to minimize game assets. nice atmosphere as well
I loved all the little details of this game, like the way the doors shake when they are closed and you can't open them and the concept of protecting the main character. Very well done! :D Was it made in GameMaker? Which version?
Unfortunately, I played this game on a laptop with no mouse at hand, so forgive me for not completing the game, which is my fault not yours! I will not hold the game back in the ratings for the frustration this caused. From what I played, I think it is very impressive that you actually got a narrative and story into a jam game! I read other comments saying that it has a twist ending too, which sounds cool. The lighting and graphics look really good, altough some more animations would have been nice to have. The controls were tight, but I have to agree with other comments stating that dying by 1 shot and no checkpoints feels quite cheap, I would have really appreciated some more fair balancing, especially since it is a small game meant to be played in a short amount of time. The maze like levels mostly got me following the walls, since there was no real way of knowing where to go. But overall, I liked what I saw, and going for procedurally generated levels in a jam is very impressive!
@gorypixels keen eye! The game was developed in GMS 1.4.9999. At first for windows, and then I went back in and got an HTML5 build working (which was mostly trial and error to find what didn't work)
Found the game a bit unforgiving, but I guess that's the whole point! :see_no_evil:
Overall, I am impressed! The visuals and audio work really well together, and create a nice mood. I found some of the rooms a bit empty, and a little bit of additional visual feedback would've helped to make shooting feel more organic. That being said it's very very cool that you found time to work on an intro and add an extra bit of story to it. There is definitely a lot of merit in that!
Amazing game! Not only the gameplay and art was great, I also found it really cool that you even got story aspects into your game. Only thing I really struggled with was finding the exit of a room after clearing it. A compass or teleport could have helped there. But otherwise you made an awesome contribution to this jam!
I loved the visuals of this game, the pacing of the cut screens and dialogue gave it a really professional feel. Sounds and music really suited the game as well. I would have lived a health system or at least the ability to take a hit or two before going down. Super good job, well done :)
I love the sci-fi look and the music. this game mainly just needs some polish. Screen shake, Walk animation and other things like that to make the game just feel much better.
Completed the game! I liked it. I think the lighting is the most interesting part, so I wished the levels generated even fewer lights. It was also easy to shoot everyone from off screen, though that was kinda fun.
The game seems pretty simple but very polished for a game jam. I liked the graphic style, a bit more dynamic animations would feel better imo but considering time restrictions this is pretty impressive! The audio didn't stand out too much but it did its job and added to the game's mood. The only things I didn't like: 1) I didn't feel pressured by time at all, I had plenty left in all levels, so maybe make the timer shorter; 2) Sudden shot from the shadow sometimes felt a bit unfair, especially considering that you only have one health.
Overall a really fun entry. Good job!
Visuals and audio are pretty atmospheric. This game reminded me Alien 3 for NES, but less challenging. More enemies and weapon ammo/heat/range limitations would be great.
nice game, very well done. maybe just a health bar or something would help, die with one shot was quite hard for me
Surprisingly addictive gameplay. At first I was frustrated by the lack of at least one additional life, but once you get used to it that's a crucial part of the gameplay. It's frustrating, but necessary. I also appreciated how smoothly the firing mechanics worked, aiming and hitting the enemies was never a problem. Very well crafted overall. Good work.
