Wow! Very cute game. I like the creative levels and ways to solve them. Puzzles and platforming are in perfect balance - not too hard, but not too easy either. Great job!

1/10, could not swallow the wizard. Just kidding xD I love the intro comic thing. So cute. Let slime have his tea! And then that wizard has the nerve to stand there with tea. Also, I love the animation for the slime swallowing the stone, and how you then see the stone in the slime. Music was good, and sfx too.
Very cute entry! Loved the comic before the game start, and the overall art, nice work!
cute little puzzle platformer! i love the graphics and the little story you tell. congrats on the game!
Music is great, so are the visuals - the animations are especially juicy which I liked. The actually movement I thought was really clever, having your jump change based on if you're holding an item led to some clever mechanics. The only issue I had really was the tiles that only had spikes when you went near them, it led some trial and error to figure out some parts which might have been better if the spike were always going up and down. But considering time limits it's not a huge problem, especially when you consider how much is here and how polished it is, this is a really good entry. Well done.
The slime is cute and the gameplay feels polished. I liked the intro sequence and i feel like you put some thought into the levels and puzzles. Nice Game.
That was a load of fun ! Cute music and very funny "goop" sound effect, I laughed every time I gooped stones around xD
A fairly standard puzzle platformer as far as the scope goes, but very well executed. The puzzle design was on point, between the spikes coming out with steps and the timed one it offered a good variety of "I see how this goes" but then surprise there are hidden spikes and you need to adjust your solution or pay attention to where the gaps are.
Confidently going to a resting platform only to pleasantly get stabbed by some spikes behind grass :ok_hand:
The difficulty was good too, with the timing requirements and hidden spikes adding some challenge, but not demanding extreme precision and not relying on random/uncontrollable elements makes for a good progression as you're closer to mastering the level with each failure until you complete it.
I'm not sure if there are multiple endings, but I made sure to crush wizard before reaching the artefact, though he was still able to send me back to the broken tea set. Dabblin' in some necromancy ay ?
Anyhow, I had a great time playing ! Great entry !
Very nice platform game! Excellent visuals and effects! Love the fact that you gave some breathing room with the hitboxs. Otherwise the spikes would have been a nightmare to avoid. Very well designed levels! Nice job!
Honestly one of my favs so far :D
the wizard art is really funny to me, I feel like having to eat a boulder in order to jump different is an interesting mechanic. Also plays pretty clean
I really enjoyed playing this game. Good balance between the number of tries you have to make, with the frustration of failing when you're close to the goal, and the pleasure of finally finishing the level! I like the mechanics, nice game !
Those intro stills are adorable :3 Love the animations and sound effects of the slime, as well as the background music choice -- it feels wizardly somehow. The puzzle design is fantastic, I especially like how the stones can be used to both weigh your jump down (which can help just as much as harm) and fill in spiky holes. I am notoriously bad at precision platformers, that being said, the difficulty was good but there were times I wished for checkpoints. It was very satisfying to finally figure out all the tricks to completing a level and executing them perfectly from start to finish.
I did get stabbed through a rock I was standing on though, which honestly made me quite upset at the time as that was the furthest I'd gotten in the level after like 10 mins and the falling spiky rock things set the precedent that you couldn't get stabbed through them. But then again, this is not my forte and I still played through till the end :)
Great job, what a polished submission, both in game design/balance and overall experience!
Really cool platformer! I love how the slime felt heavier after swallowing up a stone. The graphics and sound effects were great. I love how you introduced elements to the player gradually. I would have liked some more forgiveness on some things like not letting the player walk headlong into spikes instead of killing him. And the one gap space to jump up into was a little hard to line up. Overall this was quite fun. Fantastic job!
I enjoyed the mechanics and the puzzle design -- I experienced a few nice ah-ha moments when I figured out how to get past a few hidden traps, and when I figured out the rock-spike blocking. In general, I think you did a great job of designing the levels that teach the mechanics (jump height, spike blocking). The game is polished and I particularly enjoyed the eye movement animation of the slime. I unfortunately bounced off at the statue/rock/timing level as I got too frustrated -- I intend to come back and complete the game.
Cute little platformer!
I got stuck at one level where you have to… maybe do a tiny jump to get over a big chasm? Or grab a rock to be able to jump less high and go through it? I don’t know, tried both, still died!
But it’s cute, I liked the intro cutscene and the funny music (… though I have to admit that it kind of got on my nerves when I got stuck ^^’)
Thanks for all the kind reviews everyone! @patatenouille Nicely done, I'm sure it's necromancy. But how can you make the tea-swilling fellow leave you alone forever?
Enjoyed the visuals and audio a lot! Good feedback and readable. Would have liked to see more depth of gameplay from that eating mechanic (seemed underused) and more variation in the level structure. Otherwise had a blast. Great work!
Nice intro experience! I got stuck pretty quick, I was just trying to cover the spikes with the rocks, and the rock spawning station only spawned 2 when I thought I needed more to fill in all the spike pits, must have been doing something wrong. Good music too!
Very cool game! I loved the art, the little details were very fun (the rock in the stomach, the slime weighting more when it swallowed something etc), and I found some secret tunnels! I also got stock with the rock spawning station only spawning 2 rocks, but I'm looking forward to play any update!
The intro cutscean is cool and the slime sound is funny, i oreginaly expected that it wil be some cute game but then i get slabt to the face by almost super meat boy experience.
Gameplay is overall great
Nitpick: Improve the wizard summon animation as it barely seems like a summon, so maybe the blob being built/summoned after it dies with the wizard performing a more complex spell to do it. The instant swing is barely noticeable
Nitpick 2: WASD support ^^
Again these are nitpicks, not necessarily point-reducers
Overall very easygoing and simple and I can see myself running the full game
Witty, fun, and with a well-balanced difficulty! I really enjoyed the level design with lots of hidden passages! I managed to finish it, but unfortunately my tea was broken! :D In the last level, I squashed the wizard so he learns not to summon me at the wrong times! Congratulations because it's very well done!
Fun game! I enjoyed the level design and the traps, very well done. Maybe some improvements could be more decorations to the levels, add more sounds and fx, a little more polish to the game feel, i know there is no time but thats just my thouhgts on how this could have been a better entry. Anyway this is great, it was fun and it looks really good. Congrats!
Props to the level designer because this game had some of the best designed levels in a 2D platformer I have played on a Ludum Dare game! And the levels keep getting better and better.
Graphics were cute, the controls were a bit floaty, but solid.
My only gripe with the game is that it has nothing to do with the theme...
Overall, a great 2D platformer!
Very nice graphics and silly comic. Loved the premise, only thing that you could make better is player feedback and some more polish (such as making it easier to see that swallowing a rock made me jump less which took me waytoo long to figure out), anyways very cute submission, great work!
I really dig the artstyle, and a fun game mechanic! I wasn't very good at it at first! All round Great Work!
