I enjoyed it! The physics felt unintuitive but I really had fun playing it! Great work!
Thank you for testing! I can agree that the physics are a little unintuitive. Most of the development time went into making the springs/physics feel nice and look good, there is still a lot that could be improved, but I feel like I learned tons from making it.
If you know how the game works, it's ok! But I had to look up in the description how the spring placements are done. This could be made clearer in game or even have the spring placed by drag and drop with visual help. Would be better than ahving to blindly click the mouse button a second time for a replacement.
Also, the egg physics seemed to be a bit off. Looked like they didn't really adhere to physics of this universe :D thats also something you had to keep in mind while trying to clear the riddles. The length of the game was good though and the progression the three levels introduced, as well. It was a bit frustrating to wait for the whole egg to pass the stage to see if the changes at the last spring worked now. So that might be something else to consider to reduce player frustration.
Art was adequate but seemed a bit intermingled. The tileset and the rest of the art didn't seem to have the same level of art direction (contours on the pipe and nest, but not on the rest of the tileset)
BUT I did play through all tree levels because I could get some fun out if it :) So that's that. Keep it up!
I liked the idee and i enjoyed all 3 levels. The physic is a bit off and not really predictable. It was mostly a try an error approch to solve the last level. On the second one i didn't need the last spring. Graphics are simple but fits the game, eventhough the nest looks more like a sausage =D
I think that this would be a cool android game, maybe you can create an app out of it.
Very strange that the egg appears to decelerate horizontally, rather than moving in a parabola. I also don't see why the springs are controlled with two clicks, rather than a click and drag sort of system? I must say though, completing a level in this is incredibly satisfying. On level 2 I actually bypassed the final spring, and felt like a total genius. Thanks for making!
Got all three! Good level progression. I was stuck on the last one for a while, but then I realized that you can change spring directions during a run! In the end my solution involved "catching" the egg with one spring (by shooting it up), and then relaunching it (by changing the spring direction before the egg fell back down). Not sure if that was the intended solution, but it was fun to find
Definitely would have played more levels!
Very fun game, enjoyed it a lot :) the physics is a bit wonky, especially for X speed loss, but overall it was a fun experience. The graphics are very clear and informative, audio is appropiate.
Thanks for all the feedback so far everybody! Seeing everyones experiences so far the first thing I would change is making the spring drag and drop, as many of you said it makes so much more sense. As for physics it is pretty wonky indeed :stuck_out_tongue:
The final spring on 2nd level is kinda optional. I added it since I felt the jump was a little tight, but I am happy to hear people liked an alternative.
