nice graphics
Calming game. Great mood and audio. Attack animation is satisfying. Great Job.
Nice idea to play as a bear being chased by siberian mafiosios. Really like the pixel art and that simplistic relaxing theme music. Smoking mafia bears a great too!
Looks neat, and has a nice theme.
I really like the attack roll. Feels great stacking wood on the bear. I would like some kind of a dash or run.
The dynamic of saving the fire and saving yourself is awesome. Having to leave the cozy fire to keep it alive fits great with the theme. It has all the feelings of gathering wood while camping and the same relaxation.
Overall it is an excellent game given the time.
Really nice game with a simple but effective game play ! Grete job !
Very moody game! Although an icebear is an odd choice when you need to avoid freezing to death. (Although im not a ice bear scientist so what do i know)
Hey really nice entry with this one! Calming and simple game play easy to just pick up and play.
Nice Game, love the art! The bear animation even if simple it's kinda funny. It's a good game for chill, good job!
Nice art, great atmosphere.
Great little game with really fantastic atmosphere! I was a little confused by the thing that has the E key prompt be the fire, the popup it opened just said "Press E to exit"
@garett-cooper sorry if that wasn't clear, there's more text in it in the next night.
Great game! I liked the mood set by the night/shadows and the audio.
cool aesthetics and nice mood
Nice graphics and cool to stack fuel on a bear's back hah! love the chill atmosphere the sound gives
i really love the atmosphere you've created, and i really like the art style, but i found it really difficult to live? maybe i'm just not very good :P
@fynzyme I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is a difficult game but depending on which direction you go at the start of the level can make it much easier or harder. for example in level 2 one way you could go would bring you to an enemy and a few sticks but you could go a different way and find 2 enemies and enough logs to get you through the night. there is also an area you can find whit a good amount of sticks and no enemies at all. Personally I think we probably should have added checkpoints.
Nice and relaxing game. I really liked the music and sound!
I tried the web build, but I can't operate the main menu. So, I tried the Windows build, but the window doesn't show everything. I noticed that the fire goes out quite quickly, maybe that can be a bit more forgiving. Other that, the music was nice and I've always wanted to a polar bear ;-).
@mika-la-grand I don't know why the menu wouldn't work for you so i cant help there but for the downloaded version you could try going to display settings and under scale and layout make sure the scaling is set to 100%. I don't know if its true for you too but my computer defaults to 150%. Thanks for the suggestion of slowing down the time it take the fire to go out. we may be able to slow it down a bit but I Don't think it could go too much slower. currently it takes about half a night for the fire to go if you don't stand next to it which is much faster to discourage waiting by the fire. Alleviating difficulty is still a good idea which could be done with checkpoints or @ryan-harriman 's suggestion of a dash that could potentially do that while also adding in more strategy with resource management. Thanks for the feedback and I'm see you enjoyed the game.
Music + sounds were nice, I missed a checkpoint system though. Replaying from level one whenever you die is a bit annoying.
When I try to pick up an item an empty screen comes up and tell me to press E to quit. I wasn't able to pick up anything. Is this normal?
@wheybags i have to agree, honestly. something i'd definitely like to add with more time
@kaan-alpar nope, sorry that happened. you may have opened the note by the campfire, but I'm not sure why you couldn't pick up sticks and logs...?
@yohapii thank you!
@kaan-alpar It sounds like you may have opened the message by the fire thinking the prompt was to pick something up. There is a message on every level but the first just says how to close messages. Unless you brought wood back to the fire and dropped it near the message but not into the fire, there shouldn't be anything to pick up close enough to read the message. If you did put wood down near the message that could be an issue. Otherwise I guess it just wasn't clear the button prompt was the read the message rather than pick something up. Maybe somehow making the button prompts to read and pick up different would make it more clear?
