Really enjoyed this. The "little something extra" at the end was lovely. Nice work!

Really enjoyed this. The "little something extra" at the end was lovely. Nice work!
Incredible game with a really cool gameplay, the graphics are good, and the little escape at the was a nice finish.
Is This The Police? I had that vibe, was quite certain that This Is The Police. Just asking in case It Is The Police. : P Nice exp overall, another chill day at the office.
Interesting game, cool gameplay, incredible for a compo game! It even has plot in it. Great work!
I was in the middle of playing and wanted to pause, but pressing ESC closed the game outright, oops.
I like the music and sfx, but I think the sfx are a little too loud in comparison.
The gameplay is fun, I enjoy a good management game, but the difficulty curve is pretty wild. Places get overrun insanely fast out of nowhere. Plus it feels like it doesn't matter how good you do since everything will automatically get overrun at the end, which is a little unsatisfying.
I did think the ending itself was pretty neat, nice job on that.
Overall it was a fun lil game, nice job!
@courtneylapin Yeah the sfx was put into the game in the last two hours and was just me recording my voice on an ipad haha. I should have done something about that.
I made it spiral out of control quickly to not take up too much time for people so they could reach the ending. Maybe a little too aggressively :grimacing:
Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
Since I have my headset volume up rather high, the loudness of the radio was jarring and I had to turn it down quite a bit right away.
However, the game was fun, I liked how there was a chance to upgrade and also a difficulty ramp, although as some others said it was maybe a bit fast. But also it's a game jam, and people NORMALLY don't play jam games for a super long time. In that regard, it seems about right.
I did enjoy the music, seems pretty chill overall. And I agree the ending was unexpected and pretty cool! Great job!
Nice idea! Wish there were more explanation or tutorial to it but once I figured it out it made sense. Very difficult but it is a jam game! Great work!
The controls were a little awkward to use, so I lost a good chunk of the city before I figured them out. The main gameplay loop was fun but got stale kind of quickly. Perhaps having some extra city layouts would mix things up to keep it fresh. I really enjoyed the UI of the game, which set the mood well. The radio sound effects were a bit loud and grating. I liked the bonus ending content, especially the knocking at the door in the back hallway.
Man, there's a lot of good things here.
Overall, the gameplay loop is super fun. I enjoyed having the different units...but what I didn't like was the somewhat awkward way of switching between them because I forgot I had them. Perhaps binding the +/- functions to Q/A, W/S, and E/D respectfully would have been better.
The SFX to music volume was pretty aggressive. The music was a good groove and helped me get into it. The visuals were simple and clean. I really enjoyed the ending, but was hoping for a slightly more aggressive twist as it happened.
Great work!
@rubixnoob13 Thank you for the feedback and for playing. I need to get better with the sound, it was the last thing I implemented and was so rushed. I need to remember to bring the volume right down.
@gus-goucher I was hoping I did enough for a tutorial but it seems not . Thanks for the feedback and playing.
@bentglasstube When making it I couldnt decide to go fully in to just have a game with a main gameplay loop that you could play forever or include some type of story too. I chickened out and went for some story :grimacing: . Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
@nrankin13 Thank you for the feedback and for playing. I should have spent more time thinking about the controls, I was locked in with them pretty early and didn't really do much iterating on them. I also wanted it to be a bit awkward sending units out, but maybe I could have refined them more. Yeah I did plan a more aggressive twist working for a dictatorship, but I ran out of time and just had to thumb something in there.
