404 on link FYI! :)
Pretty cool game, like the funny concept!
Came down here to second the HTML link is down
Thank you for trying out the game!! I haven't got it work load here but the itch.io link works just fine:
https://midori-techi.itch.io/planetary-planter
itchio link seems to be broken :(
the page might not be set to public
Thanks so much for letting me know @togo-sepultraut and @duncan-3. It's public now
Ok, downloaded it!
So I have some issues, maybe the downloaded version is older?
Anyway, I can plant one seed who grows into a pretty cool walking carrot, but no other seeds ever appear.
I can watch him wander around or leap off into the atmosphere, but that is it.
Also character is like turned toward the left and the wasd assumes you are directly behind so it’s a bit tough to control.
Let me know if you get an updated build up and I’d be happy to revisit!
I liked the little 3D loading icon for the planter and the carrot dude. Also if people are experiencing the HTML5 404, the Windows zip file is still available.
wtf
@fromage Thank you so much for trying it out. Yea the downloaded version has an error I need to update with the seed. Please let me know if you test out the html version. That one should be working.
The View down our little rocky planet is a nice one.
The Carrot People are definitely stuff I may or may not have some nightmares about tonight, hah!
Apparently collecting and planting 3 seeds isn't enough to not get fired - but the simple solution was to just jump off a cliff!
GG
Thanks! I was able to get that one going now, and it is better (camera is over the shoulder) I was able to plant a few more carrots and it said I harvested enough! But I still got fired, heh.
HTML5 version on the Ludum Dare website doesn't work for me, but the Itch.io works perfectly!!
I liked the setup of the scene with the planet under the planet... planet-ception.
Goodjob!!:D
@fromage Thanks so much for your feedback!!! I definitely need to update the code so that you don't get fired if you've harvested enough. Thank you so much for playing!!
@juzdepeche Thank you so much for your feedback!!! I don't know why the Ludum Dare build isn't working. It's the same as the itch.io one.
played it now that the link is fixed. has a couple bugs (mouse is not captured so i cant freely look around, also fell off the planet) but i like the animations and the carrot person model
@togo-sepultraut I really appreciate you coming back to check it out. And I completely forget I didn't put a way to block the player from falling off. I the original idea was a planet that the player could walk all the way around with gravity but there were too many issues and not enough time so I scrapped that idea and just made a terrain.
@lewl Thank you thank you thank you! I do need to fix it so that oyu don't lose after you've harvested enough. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I really appreciate you testing it out and giving feedback.
Link is broken again ;( Let me know when it is fixed so I can try it out!
@jackypark9852 Thank you so much for letting me know. The build is working on itch.io now.
Love the planets and carrots model/ animation. It was satisfying to see the carrot pop out from the pot. Great work!
@jackypark9852 Thank you so much for playing!!
It was a nice experience thanks for sharing. You did a great job on the models, the game as a whole had a nice mood to it!
@sgtweirdo Thanks for playing the game!
I like models of vegetables monsters.
@pusheeneiro I really liked how they came out and we're going to be refining them more too. Thanks for playing!!
The models and the animations of the vegetables are cool. Also the concept is funny. Well done.
Nice work! It gets a little glitchy on the world edges and the text don't scale properly to some viewport/screen sizes. But it was easy to understand and fun
this was so cute. my favorite part is looking down on the earth.
The running smaller carrot was funny! the artstyle has potential :) No idea what I'm doing gameplay wise though. Good job!
@klinsmannhengles Thank you so much! I'm really glad you tried out our game. We're going to working on more models for it soon.
@jan5366x Thank you for playing the game. I definitely do need to fix the text so that it scales properly.
@seltzerfish Lmao that is one of the fun things about this game. Thank you for testing it out!!!
@patsui Thank you for checking out the game. I defintely do need to add more direction. You're supposed to catch the little runflora to make them sit still so they can grow.
I liked that it threw you right into it, and I liked the level you created with the planet down below, really cool! I liked the 3D progress bar when growing the plant... I haven't seen that done a lot. And the carrots are so great, lots of character (both when lumbering around and running). There was some text that appeared that wen beyond the bounds of the screen so I didn't know what it was trying to tell me (probably that I was running out of time? Anyway lots of great stuff in here :)
Little carrots trying to run, I wasn't expecting that, it was so cute.
@spicer-audio I wanted to give a little more direction to the player in the bigging but we did want a game that was simple to get into. I had fun modeling those carrots and setting up their animations. I just fixed the text so that it fits properly too.
@hulya Lol Thank you for testing out the game.
silly carrots
The 3D mode is appealing, but the game time does not stop, the mouse is not hidden when changing the angle of view, and the mouse always moves to the screen boundary.
Hmm, I guess the game doesn't end as probably intended when the timer reaches zero currently :D
The concept is cute so is the idea of "runflora", it's a shame you didn't add a blocker around the edges of the map, but it's an interesting game regardless :)
A never-ending stream of strangely muscular carrots grows from a tiny pot with the help of a blue Lego-man. Cute game, even if a bit unfinished (like nothing happens when the timer runs out).
Great start. I liked when the one got up and I had to catch them. Would have been cool to see more change as the time went on :)
@secrt101 Thank you so much for playing!
@harmofish The camera movement is defintely something that I had a lot of trouble with. If you have any suggestions on how to fix it or a tutorial that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for testing out the game.
@flying-dog-fish Thank you for testing out the game!! What was supposed to happen was that when you grew enough you would be able to go to the level but that wasn't completed.
@francoisvn Thank you so much for testing out the game!
Even if it is at a bit unfinished state (no lose condition), still great potential and nice take on the theme. I loved the music and visuals, where muscular carrots walking around?! Good job!
Really like the character design, especially the walking carrot was really funny!
@hayricakir We're working on updating the game now. There was supposed to be an end stay where you run out of oxygen. And there was supposed to be more levels on different planets. Thank you so much for testing out the game!
@eldogg Thank you so much for playing the game!!
