Pretty fun game and great job for your first Ludum Dare! I like the night-day transitions! I would suggest some tutorial or "How to play," because it took me few tries to figure everything out. First time, I just harvested everything as soon as it grew and ended up having no pollen and confused. Second time, I waited for pollen to appear above flowers which it did, but then I took the pollen and harvested flower right away. And on third try, I finally figured out that flowers are giving more pollen, so I should not harvest them super quickly. Could be just my sleep deprivation tho. :)
@appoxgames Thanks for the comment! Yeah decided that it would be more focus on speed than anything else. Had OSU in mind when coming up with The idea. :)
@dzejpi Thanks for the comment! Haha yeah time ran out so desperately wrote like a quick intro on the start page. Probably wont be the only one getting stuck on harvesting prior to building up a pollen bank :)
Neat game, I found it hard to see when crops are ready for harvest or close to wither. Maybe it would be also better to be able to harvest individual crops or rows of crops instead of the whole field. All in all a well made entry still!
@mtpw thanks for the comment! Yeah there aint an indication on when they wither. Its 10s from the time the pollen shows up. Had planned tp add it but simply had to fix other bugs at the end xD
I liked the idea, but I would have needed a bit info to really understand what I was suppose to do. Overall it is a pretty good first LD game.

Congrats on first jam! Nice job that you finished your idea! In the middle of day it's over lighted that I cannot see my current points. I didn't expected the animation but it looks nice! Hope to see you in the next jams
I like the overall premise. Without indicator I also found it difficult to know when to harvest. I enjoy the balance of having to let it produce pollen but also needing to harvest quickly enough that it didn't wither. It makes things a little hectic, and made me wonder if there might be some upgrades I could get to help me manage the crops more maybe? I found it difficult to plant many at the same time, but I really wanted to use the whole field. Great idea, and good entry, would be curious to see where you will take it!
Interesting idea, I like it. As was mentioned - a bit more of tutorial in the start would be nice, as it was not clear what to do. Models and animations are well done, good job as your first LD game)
Pretty cool, interesting and fun gameplay
The game was fun when I was able to figure it out, however on my first playthrough I messed up my harvest and didn't have enough sunlight to buy new plants, making the game impossible to play.

@ghpxi The animation is actually a shader I found and implemented from a youtube tutorial. Was actually super interesting! These Jams are an amazing way to learn loads of skills in a very short time. :)
@paloobi I personally only harvest when I can't keep up with the gathering of the pollen. Regarding the plant mechanic, I was actually pondering if I should lock the plant that was going to get planted but decided on the difficulty factor from dragging your mouse back and forth. So you actively have to pause gathering pollen. The upgrades is a great idea and maybe make the produce slower and days longer so that you can keep up with the entire field. :)

@classic-mushroom Haha yeah that's basically how it goes for everyone. I should really have added a quit or restart button. Refresh the page or wait 5m is the only way to get to replay the game -.-
Interesting concept. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but the progress felt really slow to me. Good game overall.
Congratulations on completing you first LD game! Nice idea but and music. Sometimes I just got stuck and couldn't sow or harvest anything and there was no real indication as to what I was doing wrong.
Quite impressed that you had time to both model all that and make the actual game! I found it a little bit hard to see the pollen during midday, but decided to just see it as an extra difficulty mechanic :) I agree with the above commenter that the animation was really cool, and seeing that it's a shader makes it even cooler. Lovely entry overall!
@greynovembergames Thanks for the feedback! And here I thought it was too hectic xD How often did you harvest? It gradually becomes more and more hectic the more plants you have at the same time.
@cogcomp Thanks! Haha didn't really have time to focus on the music so just added a quick beat and called it a day . Yeah you're not the first there. A tutorial would really have helped to show that you should save pollen to be able to plant alot post harvest. Because after you reach around 10 plants it's practically too fast to actually plant more unless I'm slow. By that time you will reach a couple of hundred pollen for a new batch of plants.
@timon Thanks! Yeah the modelling took a while. I actually did model more plants but as I was publishing I noticed that the scales were all off (960x600) so I panicked and just scrunched everything together and removed them from the list to fit... Regarding the shader yeah I'm super pleased with it, it's supposed to "close" the open spaces as it renders the texture from the bottom to the top but didn't have time to fix it. Might change it after the rating period. And overall thanks for the comment! :D
Congrats on your first Ludum Dare! You did a great job. I liked the nice gameplay loop and the take on the theme. I would say that there isn't really anything to do once you just accidentally harvest all your crops (maybe thats just me) but anyways, good game overall!
It is amazing to make the game in 48 hours. Great.
Finding the right balance between collecting pollen but then harvesting when things get too hectic was fun! I invested in pumpkins early on to maximize pollen production, but then shifted toward sunflowers at the end for maximum cash when harvesting. The animations and graphics were enjoyable, and I think this was a great first LD entry!

@infecsean Haha yeah, a tutorial should be made or a timer when you constantly get pollen (maybe from fields outside of your own). Learned a great lesson regarding where to place my time. An example would be I created scriptable objects for each plant that's plantable etc, could have quicker hard coded them and started on the tutorial etc.

@swarrizard Haha awesome, what was your highscore? My own take was to plant tons of sunflowers in the beginning and harvest when I felt like I didnt have more room to plant. And then plant a ton of pumpkins. My best was about 6400 :)
solid work for your first Ludum Dare! you might want to turn down the brightness of the sun though :D
