Quite fun concept, took a moment to remember wich button is what color especially when the recipes started to get hectic. Especially liked the mumbling voice in the background :)

Funny game! Love the bouncy ingredients. For some reason it doesnt recognize the correct ingredients when they lie on the bottom of the glass, only when they fly above it?

jb106 2024-04-15 08:56

Simple and funny game, too bad for the bug where the ingredients at the bottom are not detected. Love the text animations and introduction !

Nice idea for the compo! Kind of like a memory game. The timer got pretty short quite fast, but I managed quite a few rounds of the five-ingredient orders as well.

Bouncy (ice) cubes in the void .. hmm .. I did pretty well I think. I didn't get killed by the daemons. Would be nice if the block below the buttons are the color of the character. I keep hitting R which isn't red :D I like the fact that even when the ingredients are leaving the bowl the correct entry is still accepted by the customer ha ha ha

potatofinch 2024-04-15 09:41

@mdotedot It's actually intended that you don't know which button summons which ingredient! :D It's also different with every game start

mdotedot 2024-04-15 09:49

@potatofinch Ah, that makes sense then .. it is intended and that is the difficulty I had to work with. Kind like a reverse ' simon ' says. Now that you say it .. it makes sense in the end. ' I could have written it down on a post-it and put that on the screen ' ha ha ha

I love the popping sound xD And the text effct is tasty.

caz-creates-games 2024-04-15 10:57

I agree with another comment that the popping sounds are very satisfying :D

The physics of the squares are also fun to watch.

This game is immediately easy to play, and the timer and increasing difficulty adds pressure on the player, which is quite fun.

I also appreciated the introductory text for giving some context for looking dynamic.

Suggestion: - it requires some imagination to believe that these colourful squares are ingredients for a drink. It might be more believable if the ingredients were different creepy items (and maybe some cute/funny ones) such as a skull, a heart, a crow feather etc. I think that would make the game a bit more immersive, especially with the ambient whispering noises.

Overall: - Nice game, it was fun to play which is the most important factor :D

very fun to play! sounds are great. The difficulty curve is a little steep, I feel like it went from manageable to impossible pretty fast.

I recently bought a board game called Hanabi that involves remembering a lot of information about your cards you can't see, including colors! Your entry reminded me of it! Starting from difficulty 4 it was a bit hard to keep up, but I like memory games like this. Not a fan of stressful time limits, though!

nazorus 2024-04-15 12:18

It's like a minimalist memory-based Overcooked! It's pretty fun, I like the way those bouncy squares move around and the game has that "just one more try" feel to it, as in I want to try again every to get a better score every time I die. Good job on doing the compo!

pres2300 2024-04-15 12:37

What key was that color again!? Oh no, time is running out! Agh! This was really fun! I think your decision to make the player learn what key corresponds to what color was great. It added a unique challenge to the game. I pretty much agree with what others have already said: expanding the square ingredients into different shapes could be cool, the timer gets challenging super fast, and the sound effects are very satisfying.

theyflower 2024-04-15 13:14

It reminds me of trying to do invoker combos in DotA2

worldofmush 2024-04-15 15:14

It was a bit confusing not having the ingredient icons on the bottom to know whats what. But was engaging little experience. Creative use of summoning too

patrick-pang 2024-04-16 13:41

I like the crisp sound of ingredients falling into the bowl, which makes people always want to summon more, and they will fall outside the bowl lol.

I really liked this game! You guys are great!

snesgaard 2024-04-17 07:34

The void is a thirsty boi! The sounds were very loud on my end. Think having the icons under the buttons would make for better UI, rather than just "ingredient 1". Other than that, it was very fun to get the combinations right while dealing with the jank physics!

lazzor 2024-04-17 14:28

While the graphics are not that great to be honest, the audio, atmosphere and overall feel really make the game! Also, nice use of different text effects at the start. Even though it was just text, it made the intro feel a lot more dynamic.

tucan 2024-04-18 03:24

hehe I liked the mechanic and the you have to figure out which button does what color! Great compo entry! Have a nice jam!

boxedmeatrevolution 2024-04-22 22:33

Big fan of the bouncy cubes. Wasn't sure if there was an end, but I felt like I made it pretty far into 5 cube drinks. It felt good to learn the colours and serve drinks fast!

silkworm-sweatshop 2024-04-25 21:15

Fun simple idea, I can see it reworked into a mobile game.

cassowary 2024-04-28 17:38

Cute idea! It's kind of like a memory game. I like how frantic it gets when the number of ingredients goes up. I wish there had been a little more with the physics of the bouncy squares -- at first I thought they all had to be in the glass when you hit spacebar, which might be a fun mechanic to mess around with.
