Smooth design! Feels good to have a tutorial like that in a jam game.
Cool game! I like puzzle games, und i like optimization, just the game for me. :)
Great little puzzle game
This is really cool! I didn't realize it was going to be so fleshed out when I first clicked into it, but there's really a lot going on in this game. The tutorial is well written and explains most of the things well, though I did end up getting a bit confused when no more trains were coming later on, not realizing that traffic would pause if trains were stopped waiting somewhere indefinitely.
This gets really hard quickly, and the performance is a little choppy running in a browser for me, so I had a hard time progressing much past the point where you have four stations all crossing over each other, but it's fun to try to make it happen.
Very fun, nice work!
Wow it got complicated really fast. It was a very nice game to play!
oh yeah that's an addictive one. takes a minute to get into the swing of things, but I had to cut myself off
A fun and creative concept. Took me a minute to figure out the controls, but it's pretty straight forward after that. Got a bit chaotic and was hard to remember what was going where after a while to know where to adjust the tracks, but eventually figured out you can hover over them to see where they're going again, though that seemed to be a bit hit and miss on whether it worked or not.
Well done, it’s very interesting although it gets very complicated quite quickly. Maybe the trains and the stations should have colors instead to be able to know where they go without having to hover above them all the time?
Nice game with a simple premise but a surpringly high level of difficulty as the game progress.
The tutorial is a very nice addition and the graphics gets the job done.
Good job !
A powerful project. The visuals may be confusing in their simplicity, but the gameplay is very strong. I give credit to the cool tutorial and the considerable number of mechanics. I admit, I didn't spend much time with the game, only the allotted 5-10 minutes, but it was interesting.
I didn't understand anything. And I don't have any sounds
I don't usually play these kinds of building sims, but the onboarding is excellent and the puzzles are really engaging. The only thing is, after a few levels, my railways have turned into total spaghetti orz.
A fun but punishing game. Having an instant game over when a single train crashes is brutal, especially since it can easily happen during the tutorial (like the stop sign). A more granular fail system would have been nice (like too many delays or a currency that you gain/lose).
@neox Yeah, you're right, having a more granular fail system would've been a good idea! Thanks for playing and the feedback!
It's reminds me good old transport tycoon. Simple, buy good one, nice entry :v:
Challenging game. It’s impressive this was built in a jam; it looks simple at first. Maybe it’s my habit from using signals in Factorio, but I had a difficult time changing lanes. This would benefit from allowing crashes to be cleared or bulldozed, so the entire network doesn’t need to be rebuilt from scratch. Good job overall.
Trains! :3 It looks minimalistic, but it's complex(just enough). also a tutorial for the jam game... very nice!
It's amazing how quickly this gets complicated. The tutorial was nice to understand what to do. I agree with what someone else said about having one train crash causing a restart being a bit brutal, but overall I think this was very well done. Nice work!
Oh man, this is so cool. Such a simple, well-executed concept. The UI is clean and easy to use, the tutorial is super helpful in picking everything up, mechanics are introduced at a good pace, and the complexity arises so naturally from the simple ideas.
My only real criticism is the same as everyone else's - it is pretty brutal having to restart everything when a train crashes - but other than that, this is easily one of my favorite games from the jam. Amazing work you guys!
Very well done game! Nice tutorial, graphics are serviceable and the gameplay has increasing depth. I wish the performance would have been better, but I guess it's hard to have everything in a game jam game :) I hard-locked my game after I routed a train (that looked like it more than brushed another train's side) into the wrong station, after which no more trains spawned in:

Maybe a compounding problem was that the game thought the top-left and bottom-right stations were still new.
I found it a bit hard to work with more than two-way intersections, but I suppose that's bad practice anyway in train management? There are ways to work around it :)
Enjoyed it a lot, well done!
That's probably the most comprehensive and impressive tutorial I've ever seen for a jam game, hats off! A simple concept executed very well.
@richard-baltrusch Thanks for playing our game, glad you liked it! I'm also not really sure what was happening in your screenshot. There's some logic to the tutorial texts on the button so that they only go away after each entry and exit point is connected in some way (not necessarily everywhere-to-everywhere). But as I can tell that is the case in your screenshot ... so I also don't really know where I messed up :D
About the performance: Yes, I have also experienced this on another laptop. This was my first game with Python and I was super happy to get it to run on the web with Pygbag, but I'll have to look into the best practices to also make it run smoother.
trolley problem but with trains and zero moral baggage just pure chaos love how fast it turns into spaghetti one wrong switch and everything explodes brutal but addictive
I really liked this - it's fun to see other takes on the "trains crashing" interpretation of signals; they all end up playing fairly differently. I enjoyed the freedom of building your own tracks in this game, you made the controls work very smoothly. It's interesting that we both decided to be lenient about trains ending up at the wrong destination.
I did notice what seems to be a bug where trains crossing each other didn't count as a crash - this means that if you have dedicated lines for each direction, then it never seems to crash.

This design is great. I like the Ul interface inside and the tips below. I think this will make me understand the gameplay more clearly and quickly. I think the playability is very high. Overall, it's a very attractive game.
