LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Squirrel puncher by eerongal 2024-10-10T23:02:12Z

Good, honest fun and the humor was spot on. I will say it was very hard to know what was going on at times, particularly during the boss fight where the power ups basically took over the entire visual screen, but I had a good time. Well done.

Virus Vanquisher by lectvs 2024-10-21T19:57:08Z

This one was a lot of fun. Good movement and momentum and everything felt really responsive. The grappling felt a little off at times, but grappling's a hard thing to get perfect, and it felt really satisfying when you got it right. So very well done.

Ogron Gramsay's Culinary Journey by N.O.X 2024-10-10T23:16:05Z

Interesting concept, definitely feel the humor in this one. Gameplay felt fairly smooth and the environment looks nice. The upgrades didn't really feel like they changed much, and at one point I moved into a cow and it got stuck on me, moving wherever I did. It's a small thing and easily fixed by attacking the cow, but felt you should know. Still, this was fun, well done.

Spirits of the Forest by RaineShadow 2024-10-10T23:34:06Z

A charming little game for sure. The trickster was frustrating as it seemed to be completely luck based, unless I missed something. Still, the art came out alright for how much time you had to work with. It was sometimes hard to tell when I was in a "cutscene" and when the game was waiting for me to input something, and some of the scenes went on for a little long, particularly when the guardian faded into view, although the "very finished" art scenes at the end moved a little fast to read all of it, still gave me a good chuckle though. Definitely needs some more polish, but I see what you were going for and it came out alright, well done.

MutaFae by AdrellaDev 2024-10-08T22:22:14Z

As has been reported by others, there seems to be a weird spin on the player. Seems to happen when you brush up against the boundary of the games movement. Otherwise it plays well and looks quite nice, well done.

Pigatomic by sami822 2024-10-11T00:46:38Z

This one took me a while to figure out what I was doing, but once I figure it out it started to come together. Quickly found it easiest to just find one that was already only missing one or two colors and grab them from nearby, otherwise I got lost. Controlled nicely, atmosphere was good and over all enjoyable, but hard to wrap my head around it at first. Well done.

Fish Fighter by Str8griz 2024-10-24T23:30:14Z

Interesting idea. The RPG mechanics caught me off guard a bit. It moves a little slow for my taste and I couldn't really find much difference between how the different moves worked, it all felt mostly luck based to me, but that could just me my inexperience with the genre. Overall, very well done and well executed.

Rift Critters by jebkam 2024-10-11T01:03:46Z

On the surface I really want to like this idea, it sounds interesting with the dimension changing, but I didn't really get to experience it. controlling the dimensions didn't seem to really work most of the time, and despite lots of trial and error I wasn't able to figure out what it wanted me to do to make it work, and the dimensions just seemed to change at random at times. The controls were pretty good, though they felt a little uncontrollable at times. Still, you had a fun concept, and with a little more time to tighten and polish it up, I think you would have had something really neat here, so keep at it!

What Is This, An Empire For Ants? by Jaco van Hemert 2024-10-11T00:25:15Z

Very enjoyable little game. I'm usually not very good at these, but I was able to do quite well by just focusing on speed and ferocity, something I can get behind, and it usually worked out fairly well. Took me a little bit to grasp that I was supposed to click on the colony picture to select them, and clicked on the location marker to move them, but that could have just been a me thing. Over all, well done, keep it up!

CritterCarnage by MK-Dustan 2024-10-10T23:40:48Z

I could see you were going for just some honest, wacky fun, and in that sense you definitely delivered. Very enjoyable little game and the upgrade system was a lot of fun, makes me wanna go back in and try different loadouts and see how it goes. Got up to about wave 18 before I accidentally backed into a whole group of squirrels I didn't know where there and came to an abrupt end. I wish the health bar was a little more visible, but, very well done.

Rescue Meow-sion by Ninai 2024-10-24T23:49:50Z

Solid tower defense game. Difficulty escalated quickly enough you definitely felt like you had to keep upgrading with new towers. Wish there was a way to move or remove existing towers, so you were stuck with your choices, but that's fine. Couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do with the cats you bought from the shops though. Overall, very well done.

Metal Antlers by lethargic 2024-10-11T00:02:47Z

Very good aesthetic on this one. While simple, the art and audio worked very well for it. The gameplay took some time to figure out, but that could just be me being dumb, but once I figured it out, it was a lot of fun trying to figure out how to guide them into traps to deal with them that way. Well done, keep it up.

Minibot Super Championship by pralista 2024-10-10T23:12:06Z

The art came out really good on this, so definitely be proud of that. However when it came to gameplay I can honestly say I never felt particularly engaged. I tried several different loadouts and it all basically just came down to chance regardless of what I did it felt like. It's a really cool concept and looked and sounded great, and I always enjoy some good customization, so a little bit of polish and refinement and you'll definitely have something here. Well done.

Godcademy by Ian Crewe Edens 2024-10-11T00:14:39Z

A very interesting idea, and a surprising amount of options and content for how much time we had to work with. The art is a little unsettling at times, but you did well with the time you had, especially when fighting a cold. Keep at it.

Bakudan Baku-tan by TwinkleSoft 2024-10-24T23:13:40Z

Fun, clean gameplay, have no real complaints there. Everything controlled well and you captured the genre nicely. Art was really good and clean and had an impressive variety of enemy types. Very well done.

Boss Blast by Victor Liu 2024-10-24T23:07:12Z

Fun, creative concept. I really enjoyed the fast paced intensity of the game, but there was definitely some bugs that threw off the experience, like ally shooters spawning outside of their usual areas and there not seeming to be any way to interact with them to get them to start firing. Only other main issue was the jumping felt really off at times and was hard to control, make the stages where the spikes and lave come from the ground almost impossible. Still, fun project and enjoyable experience overall. Well done.

DRONE BRIGADE by Gaalsien 2024-10-10T23:00:41Z

Very cool concept and it played quite well. I did have some struggles clicking on the robots at times and the hot keys to select them threw me off at times, but that's probably a me thing. Overall a fun experience, but I wasn't able to reach the last level as after losing in the second level is reset my progress and I had to start over. Still, well done.

Ants War by Danikmiks 2024-10-10T23:05:06Z

Plays fairly well and the art works out nicely. I feel like the frogs may wander around a bit too much off screen as there were several instances where I had to wait a while for one to show up in my vision, sometimes for it to just jump out of view again. Still, plays smoothly and felt pretty good. Well done.

Strange New Tides by Indie Game Academy 2024-10-10T23:38:43Z

There's definitely a lot of content here, and there was a good amount of story telling between the various characters. I wish there was more benefit to the house upgrades though, and earning the currency to upgrade felt like a total slog that took away from the rest of it. The fastest way seemed to be the card machine strangely enough, but that was beyond boring just pressing two buttons, waiting a few seconds, and going again, so I mostly did it through fishing, which felt like it had some horrible input lag if I'm being honest. So the actual "gameplay" needs some work, but there's a lot of content going on otherwise.

Fishfestation by ProstoCupOfTea 2024-10-10T23:08:22Z

An interesting concept and I over all enjoyed myself through the process. Your 2D art is really good, I'd try to capitalize on that more. The loud beat that plays at the start of dialogue was a bit much though. All the same, gave a good laugh and I had a good time. Keep it up.

Horseless Headman by SwanBoat 2024-10-11T00:35:09Z

I can't say enough about how amazing the visuals are for this, especially with how little time you had, extremely well done there. Gameplay was really enjoyable as well, felt fairly manageable but chaotic enough to keep you engaged. Though when it fills the entire screen with enemies almost right out of the gate, that felt like a bit much, but I got through it! Very well done. Love to see more like this.

LD59 — Signal

Zigna Down by tukisboolukis 2026-05-07T23:42:19Z

Fun little concept and well designed. Could have used a little bit more feedback as it was hard to tell what was going on sometimes. Art was really good and added well to the atmosphere, but it was difficult to tell the difference between enemies and the environment sometimes. Overall, nice job.

Switch Happens by Zettelkasten 2026-04-21T17:23:43Z

A fun and creative concept. Took me a minute to figure out the controls, but it's pretty straight forward after that. Got a bit chaotic and was hard to remember what was going where after a while to know where to adjust the tracks, but eventually figured out you can hover over them to see where they're going again, though that seemed to be a bit hit and miss on whether it worked or not.

Below the Light by Beebo Studios 2026-05-08T02:29:10Z

Well put together game. I'm terrible at these so I wasn't able to finish it, but I could see the work you put into this. Art was solid, audio was good. Main problem I had was my cursor was freaking out the whole time and I couldn't always be sure what could and couldn't be interacted with. Maybe the not web versions didn't have that problem. Definitely coming back and trying this again later. Well done.

Average League by N.O.X 2026-04-21T18:35:26Z

Hilarious concept, loved it, and the art was amazing, though it did make some of the scenery objects hard to read at times. Took a while to figure out what I was supposed to do exactly, but figured it out eventually. Drawing the shapes is difficult without being able to look at it on the same screen but not impossible. Hardest part was figuring out you needed to put the signal on the cloud for me. Overall, nicely done.

Bodda-Bop by coatline 2026-04-21T22:45:56Z

Music was good, enjoyed the gameplay, though when I was trying to test out different weapons it seemed like enemies can push the dropped weapons, meaning I had to spend time trying to find the one I wanted to experiment with. One thing I don't understand is it seems to imply that the guns fire with the music tempo, but when I held it down I just rapid fired regardless of the beat. Maybe I misunderstood something. Either way, had a fun time, well done.

UPLiNK Defender by Logic Monkey 2026-04-21T13:36:02Z

@akapythius The lack of prompt to enter the upgrade screen is sadly one of my biggest regrets on this one. As what happens with game jams, I ran out of time, but that was an essential enough feature that it was the next on my to do list, but we encountered some weird anomalies at the end that threatened to break the whole thing that I just didn't make it. Glad you enjoyed it!

UPLiNK Defender by Logic Monkey 2026-05-07T23:23:48Z

@zettelkasten @skytech6 @thesmellofoxygen @lehmy @redphoenix2412 @quasilyte @quasilyte @coatline @flowerfield-games @irkar @roitchie @fassenberg @sinemual @hexyvexy

Thank you all for taking the time to play our little game! Sorry it took so long to reply, lifes been hectic since the Jam.

I realize things were definitely dialed a little bit on the hard side, which I was worried about, but we ran out of time to dial in the difficulty to do some catastrophic things near the end, which is how these always seem to go. I assure you the game can be beaten, though that's easy to say seeing as I'm the one who programmed it, but our artist, who hadn't really played it seriously til the last hour, was able to beat it.

I realize there's quite a few issues, mostly in knowing how the upgrades and Exp works, and for that I apologize. You can only access the upgrades menu by being near the center of the mothership and pressing E, and only when the Exp bar is full. I realize this desperately needed an on screen prompt, but it was an item on my do to list that unfortunately got buried.

I also should have started the game zoomed out, that probably would have alleviated some frustrations.

Not sure on the audio bugs. I've encountered them once or twice after the fact, but only in the web browser. I'll try to include an executable later that'll hopefully alleviate this.

Thank you all for the feedback! The point to these is to learn and improve, and I believe that we have done that.

UPLiNK Defender by Logic Monkey 2026-05-08T02:33:44Z

@tetracold

Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah my artists did awesome on this one I feel, really happy with the team I worked with. Admittedly the game is pretty dang hard, blame that on lack of time to play test unfortunately. There also might be an issue with the boss killing you when it's not supposed to, but without feedback on things being hit (Again, my bad) it's sort of hard to tell. Regardless, it can be beaten, I know that. Thanks for the feedback!

Beam of the Fallen by Jvdwijk 2026-05-08T01:28:44Z

Promising idea and fairly well executed. Art was simple but fit the idea well. Get's chaotic rather quickly, and after a while it seemed like green caravans just all but vanished, and even blues became so rare I couldnt attract one without pulling in several orange ones, but that game had gone for a while so that might have been why. Only thing really missing is an end point objective, but otherwise, it's a good loop and pleasant experience. Well done.

IONOSPHERE by HexyVexy 2026-04-21T19:18:47Z

Had a pretty interesting art style and vibe with this one. Make different enemy types very distinct and easy to recognize. Took a while to figure out what all the statues did though at first, but that was mostly me not understanding the upgrade screen right away. Still a little lost on how some of the passives worked. But, overall nicely done.

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-21T19:58:37Z

Okay, I'll start by saying art and sound on this are absolutely awesome. Well done. The gameplay feels like something I really want to enjoy, but something just feels off. The S ability just doesn't want to land half the time, like the range on it is so low you practically need to stand inside an enemy for it to connect, which made the first stage frustrating with how the enemies moved in the stage. Then you unlock the A ability which just felt OP by comparison, but then one of the enemies in the stage just seemed like a random chance if he took damage or not, couldn't find a rhyme or reasons when he did. Then the D ability was just absurdly OP, but then that stage just broke. I cleared all the enemies and it just wouldn't move to the next thing. Overall, I say you have the start of something really cool here, but the balance of the attacks feels off and it's hard to get much to connect.

GHOST CHANNEL by Tetracold 2026-05-08T02:44:43Z

Good concept and fairly fun once you figure it out. The art, visuals and music are wonderful, great job there. finding the pages can be a bit annoying sometimes as you aren't always sure where exactly you picked them up from and might end up searching the same thing twice, and since, far as I can tell, there wasn't anyway to close the note and just had to wait it out, that got a bit annoying. Still, very solid job.

Echo by FunnyPumpkin 2026-04-21T13:33:39Z

Definitely one of the most original puzzle games I've played. I really liked how you handled all of this and the art and ui are quite pleasant. Took me a while to figure out what some of the objects do, but with some experimenting I figured them all out. Sadly I wasn't able to clear all of the harder levels (Got stuck on the 5x5 grid of torches) but we'll write that off as me just being bad at puzzle games. Overall, well done.

crabmaxxing by SkyTech6 2026-04-21T18:06:45Z

A neat and interesting concept, though I wasn't getting many Signal vibes from it. Controls were appropriate to the character but rather frustrating to try to get into a shell, and I seemed to keep getting stuck at a point where I was too big for the small shells but everything else I tried was to heavy and I couldn't move.

OVERDRIVE SIGNAL by ihar21 2026-04-21T22:12:45Z

Okay, this one took me a bit to figure out. Couldn't get the signal working at first, guessing I wasn't close enough, and the long cooldown on the gun definitely threw me off here and there. Enemies seem to have an issue where they fall half way through the floor when they're shields are destroyed. Also spent a while before figuring out you're supposed to jump in the holes in the floor to proceed, since usually holes in the floor are a thing you avoid. But, other then that things worked pretty well, and the art was pretty good for the genre, so well done.

MAYDAY by Viktor Kovachev 2026-04-21T22:28:46Z

Interesting idea, controlled really nice and the art is solid. Kind of hard to tell where different signals are coming from. First I thought they were color coded but I started seeing mixed signals there as well. Made it hard to know what to go for and what not to. But overall it's a good project.

Freakquency by akaPythius 2026-04-21T13:43:42Z

Not much into puzzle platformers myself but I quite liked this one. Unique idea on the phasing through floors concept and quite well executed. Hardest part for me was remembering what orders the colors were in, but the game rarely made me go more then one color in either direction so it wasn't too bad. I died a couple of times before I realized those were spikes on the ground, but other then that the art was really good and clear. Well done.
