Did not understand I was not able to catch anything in the tutorial area, but once I got passed it, happily surprised at the classic battle scene to reel in the fish. Fun and exciting way of fishing.

I don't totally understand how to play, and I did sadly never catch any fishes. But the idea is fun.
@jk5000 Thanks for letting us know, we fixed the bug and it should work now if you want to give it another shot! Left click and hold while casting! Will give your game a look as well!
That's an interesting way to do a fishing game. Really fun idea.
Who doesn't love a fishing minigame! Cool, classic Pokemon-style fishing game! I enjoyed trying to explore and find good spots to catch rare or epic creatures. I'm pretty proud of finding myself a Thor Chomper and Sparking Sea Serpent! Great job on the game!

What a lovely game! It combines fishing with Pokémon-style combat mechanics. I loved all the different creatures, and the art and music were fantastic—they fit perfectly with the overall vibe of the game.
@larryseinfeld you are the king Fish Fighter, I bow my rod to you and your Thor Chomper... However looks like you got a lower roll on the Sparking Sea Serpent... there may still be hope for the next Fish Fighter!
@spirits @shiiro-10psi @strong99 Thanks so much for giving our game a try! We are glad you enjoyed it!
Super cool game, will be recommending to my friends later
good
very nice strategy pokemon like game, is it web's feature that rod throws weird?
I really like the idea and the fishing mechanic in an overworld (genius use of scrollwheel there). Very cool graphics and quite a lot of content. What sadly made me not enjoy the game that much was that text and animations were unskippable. I don't think it's really necessary to show the text like "Starting Rod used Crank" slowly appearing each time player attacks etc.
@rotob123 There is a specific angle the physics/algo doesn't quite translate correctly... or I mean... errr it accurately represent the physics and methodology of a true Fish Fighter!
@lisek-gagatek Yeah that is a great point... I will admit because of the scope we didn't get to play test nearly enough! Thanks for the Feedback!
cool game with a pokemon vibe. Nice battle scene with the epic music xD, and pretty graphics
Ahah, interesting take on a Pokemon fisher's life, it was very pleasant to see the familiar battle screen and transitions. I thought the fish designs were really cute as well and could see me and another friend really getting into this gameplay fishing for the best scored fish. I didn't see much difference in skills, so those could be clarified a bit more, but overall this was a fun play.
Loved the art and animations! I got lost a couple of times due to the map being so big (which is very impressive) but I had such a great time! I´d love to explore it a bit more, discover new fishes and see everything it has to offer since it´s a very complete and solid game. Congrats!!! PS: as a fellow participant i´d recommend you interacted more with other games so yours could reach more people, it deserves the attention! Another comment, the music choice for "the fish battle" is great!
@ellearx We really appreciate you playing the game and providing feedback! I have booked all day tomorrow for playing other games (which I am really looking forward too).
@miku Thanks for playing! Yeah to be honest, the skills all pretty much have the same damage with the small difference of being super effective against specific type of fish. We ran out of time to clearly show that. In an ideal world you would be able to learn and trade ability to hunt the legendary fish of your choice!
This was an alright game, pretty neat. Not a huge amount of depth but still. I however didn't know exactly how to progress.
@brain-siege-gameworks The fish all have invisible weakness to one of your moves you need to figure out, damage should be 2-3x when you figure it out, the items you can buy from the shop allow give you defense/extra health/extra stamina to spend more time on a run. So ideally the game loop looks like - easy low value fish 1st run, buy upgrades to get better harder fish, repeat - then you can check the leaderboard to see if you are the ultimate fish fighter! There was a bug we fixed that essential made all the fish have the same stats so the battles should be harder now post that fix :P
I really enjoyed the cute music and the fun gameplay! I liked the little references as well!
The idea is pretty nice
The game is cool, nice idea, even if i don't like such types of games i enjoyed this one. The music is relaxing and art is perfect, the only thing, why didn't you put an collider to the fence? And also, is this normal?)

i bought just the first three one but those appeared in my inventory after one fishing session
Cool! An intersting game.
Wow the amount of content in this game is incredible for a jam game. Unfortunately after 3 days the shop stopped working for me for some reason.
I was entertained for a little while. I love the fishing rod and the string. I definitely liked the idea of fishing mixed with pokemon type battler. the fighting started to feel a little mundane and I never felt like I understood the relationship between attack types and enemies.
Nice pokemon-vibe! And it suits very well with a fishing game. Good job!
Hehe, these stupid fish never see that bait-swap coming!
Fun pokemon like fishing game! Game seems completed, main menu, tutorial and little store in place with enjoyable music :) Very cozy
Usually, when i see a fishing game I'm instantly bored. But you made a game good enough to make me finish atleast a round of fishing. Good job :)
Really nice looking and feeling sounds and art. Throwing the bait is little hard to get it fly far. I kinda cheesed it throwing the bait and then walked to the other side of the pond which dragged the bait where i wanted :D. I like the pokemon battle idea but it felt little lacking of variety/clearness what is happening, was there types? Also since this mimics the pokemon game i would have liked it more if there was somekind of "team building" for the equipment instead of just getting better single stats.
Really great Game ! I'm surprised to see all the content and that level of polish. That's really amazing ! Nice job to the team
Really funny concept. Did not manage to figure out that counter mechanic though. Had fun trying it out ^^
Cool game, lots of content and nicely working mechanics. There could have been a bit more strategy in the fights, now they got a bit boring after a while especially since one couldn't skip the text parts. Good job on the game!
"Absolutely love this game! The mix of fishing and Pokémon-style battles is genius! The art and music are top-notch! Can’t wait to catch them all!
really nice
Omg!!!It is S-o beautiful!!!Nice job 10/10!!!

I'll take rank 8 :) Fun spin on the pokemon formula, great art and fun to play.
This was a really cool entry with quite a bit of depth! I really liked the real time casting of the line (even when it wasn't cooperating  ). I think mixing the turn based pokemon battles was cool, but I think a real time minigame would take this game even further! Keep on making games
Great game!! and I really like this pond leaper... XD. The text transitions are a bit slow, but overall it's really fun to playcute.png
Quite a cute and fun game! It gave me a vibe of pokemon safari park, the music is chill and there are a LOT of features for a JAM game :o Congratz on your entry!
I'm a big man with a big rod AHAHAAAA. Those damn Guppies...
Love you take on Pokemon. All UI, transitions etc adds to the value!
Interesting idea. The RPG mechanics caught me off guard a bit. It moves a little slow for my taste and I couldn't really find much difference between how the different moves worked, it all felt mostly luck based to me, but that could just me my inexperience with the genre. Overall, very well done and well executed.
