Not a fan of that palette...but its a great entry. Very complete. Well done.

Very cozy game! Brought back nostalgic memories. Well done!

Unexpectedly large and complex game. The visuals and the day/night cycle are also top-notch.

rhewid 2025-10-07 22:10

Pretty long game. Didn't realize at first that I can zoom out. Restarted and built an empire. Would be cool if the expeditions didn't fail, at least for the LD version :D Took me a little bit of time to beat it. Cute assets, good music. Solid entry. Would be cool to destroy buildings to replace them maybe? 17.png

Really enjoyed this game. The one I've played the longest of all the ones I've rated. Its simple but works really well. Some of the things I would have liked to see: - The collection, no idea what I was collecting and how long until I finished. - Display the limits of how much you can store. Ie 60/100 Wood - Lock the constructions if you don't have enough materials

Good job!

Hey, thanks everyone for playing! I fully agree with all the feedback. The balancing was a last-minute thing, and I later realized you need quite a few buildings and some time to reach the end.

alex-mulkerrin 2025-10-08 16:33

Oh awesome a city builder :D I really enjoyed the process of collecting resources to build a town. It put me in mind of the Anno series. The music was relaxing and I was impressed at the day/night cycle. The final artifact is a nice one. Only thing I found missing was some indication that you didn't have the resources necessary to build a building, otherwise well done!

dhim 2025-10-08 20:43

Wha @liquid, that's a crazy game

This is really impressive to be able to build a city builder; everything works quite well.

How could you managed so much in 48hours ! - I love the color palette you have selected, your building and assets are beautiful - Two musics for the day/night cycle is awesome, that's one of my goal for the future : more than one track. - The game mechanic works well, I agree with previous commenters on a bit more info on availability

Fantastic entry, continue rating other people game and giving feedback so you get ratings !

Good job, it would be nice if you could destroy building, sometimes it would be nice to destroy a building. overall good job!

kazuren 2025-10-09 16:37

Really great game!

I love the artstyle.

The music changing for the day/night cycle was really top notch and the gameplay is really fun too.

Besides what other people said, I think adding some visuals for how much you're gathering per second would be really nice, either as an exact amount per second gathered/lost or up/down arrows next to the resources.

kuggenhoffen 2025-10-09 18:54

Nice work, you managed to create quite a bit of content to experience in such a short timeframe!

eugenik 2025-10-10 11:36

Oh man this game looks and sounds awesome!.

wakobu 2025-10-10 11:40

Very nice entry here! The artstyle is gorgeous and the vibe is very chill! I would have loved having the collected artifacts being displayed on the screen though

ellaris 2025-10-10 13:34

Cool game, was a bit lost at the beginning, but eventually I figured it out and was intrigued as to what will happen. A little bit hard to see at night.

lukewaffel 2025-10-10 19:28

Great looking game! Would've loved it if the lighthouse actually emitted light :flashlight:

The day/night cycle really surprised me!

It's fascinating to watch the houses build one by one, harmonious art, very fun game, well done!

threeli 2025-10-11 02:49

Sorry I'm late to playing your project, today was the first day I could get back on the computer, but I'm here now so let's go!

Very relaxed vibe, and everything seems to work. Can I just say that what impresses me the most here, aside from the ambition of it, is that you clearly balanced the building sizes vs cost vs output just right. Great effort all around!

petitlu 2025-10-13 17:12

Cool game. Filled the entire map with buildings (you never have enough storage!), then realized you could build ships and send expeditions and recover artefacts.

One thing that could be improved is giving some feedback on the map when an artefact has been found or make them more visible because I didn't know where they find them. I only found them when I was missing two. Also a replay button on the end screen and a button to "continue playing" just to check what we've built would be a nice additions.

sudocoffee 2025-10-14 20:47

Opened up the game, and the first thing I noticed was how cool the color palette was. It gives the game a pretty unique vibe along with the smooth artwork.

I missed out reading the controls above (my fault), so at first it was a bit confusing because I didn't know you could zoom out or move around the screen. It is nice to see controls listed in-game, but it's not like I end up doing that for most of my games either ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

When it changed to the night cycle, the music and lighting transition felt kind of magical. Like everything slowed down and relaxed. Not that my workers relaxed, can't have anyone sleeping on the job >:) My only critique about the day-night cycle is that it was a bit hard to see buildings at night.

I started out making a three of each production building and a few storehouses. Spent a bit of time optimizing where I placed my gatherers to maximize output. And then kept building more stuff until I was sending out all three expeditions as soon as they arrived. The skull icon was pretty foreboding, but it seems like all my ships made it back in one piece.

It'd be cool if there were a way to see stats about how I did at the end (like resources gathered, or time spent), so I could try for better times or more optimal builds. It took about 41 seconds for a ship to leave and get back, so I guess you'd have to generate just over 2 ships worth of materials each minute for an optimal run.

Overall it was a really chill experience! I enjoyed sitting back and watching the civilization I'd built send out its fleet and gather my forgotten relics (and maybe something from the future??)

nbumgardner 2025-10-15 03:24

A cut building placement game with multiple animated buildings. The prioritization of SFX sounds good, and having more of them would fit for a post-jam version. I also couldn't see a downside to building next to 1 resource versus many, which make the game feel more relaxed. Lastly, I like how the scale of the high number of buildings leads to a feeling of having an old-world empire at the end ready to conquer new lands.

liquid 2025-10-15 16:07

Hey everyone, thanks for playing and for the incredible amount of very useful feedback. I’m amazed to see so many people take the time to play through and complete the game!

pres2300 2025-10-17 03:46

This was really fun! It was well built and pretty chill to play. I collected all the artifacts. After a while I just had to wait around for the ships to go explore. I also wish there were shortcut keys for the different buildings and actions. Otherwise, this was super impressive and well made for the Compo. Well done!

zliebowitz 2025-10-18 00:36

I've come across a few Ludum Dare city builder or other types of placement games in the past that hadn't felt good. This is definitely the first one that felt like it had any polish (and a combo no less)! I had sort of discounted the genre previously based off what I saw, but I might have to try that if I'm feeling more ambitious in the future!

Amazing art style, very appropriate music, and a really cohesive game.

stephenwhoskins 2025-10-18 01:33

I got all the artefacts! YAYS!

I loved this. This is a perfect compo.

Congratulations! You win (for completing this compo)!
