This was a really clever twist on tetris, utilizing game mechanics we're all familiar with and applying them to a whole different genre. Nice job!

blues 2025-04-07 02:59

had a blast beating this one! great idea and well executed.

gemcc 2025-04-07 03:02

Great concept, very unique mechanic!

gaverion 2025-04-07 03:08

Short and sweet! the platforming was a little weird at times, especially the first time I needed to push the green block but overall very fun!

sypiac 2025-04-07 06:28

I seem to have bugged out the physics and launched the needed block across the whole map into a corner right before winning the game, so I can't say I beat it. Great otherwise! Very innovative.

Took me a while to realize you have to stand still to complete the column, I like running around all the time so it was a minute before I got off the title screen

rinevard 2025-04-07 06:41

@sypiac Thanks for playing! If you run into a bug, you can restart the level from the ESC menu. Honestly, there are quite a few physics bugs in my game 😂

Update 2025.4.10: I think now the bug is fixed!😊

wo-ri-gou-le 2025-04-07 07:51

Very fun design! I like this stick tetris and the way you made levels, very interesting concept. The levels themselves could be more polished though, like adapt a lager scaled grid, make key infomations nice and clean and etc... but its just compo, concept alone is more than enough to be liked!

okuar 2025-04-07 09:20

Screenshot_4.png omg! i love it! its perfect: the idea, the mood, the theme - all works perfectly. Congrats! Great work.

flying-butter-studio 2025-04-07 09:59

Probably one of the best entries I've played so far. Great idea and very well executed. It's both chill and clever: I love it!

xpoho 2025-04-07 11:04

изображение_2025-04-07_180224836.png

Hey, I won! Nice! Never seen this mechanic before (except tetris, ha-ha), very innovative! Maybe do some polish and this will be great complete game!

msd 2025-04-07 11:28

naisuuu

daandruff 2025-04-07 17:06

Really fun game and a well executed new take on the tetris formula! I think you will get really good ratings on this one!

sayeg 2025-04-07 17:17

This is so smart!!! 10/10 innovation tbh. Never considered tetris as a platformer haha!!! Definitely fits the theme too!!!

sviborg 2025-04-07 18:41

loved how the tetris idea was used in such a fresh way.

oxnh 2025-04-07 21:16

Cool unique idea. Detection for the pieces to fill lines seemed a bit hit and miss though.

clare-chan1738 2025-04-07 21:27

Really creative take on a classic game. Fits the theme really well and plays pretty smoothly. Might be on my end but the blocks take a while to get rid of the row but other than that the game plays really nicely!

rinevard 2025-04-08 00:45

@clare-chan1738 Thanks for playing! The decay of block clearing is intended, the player have to stand still to make the line cleared. This gives the player more control over their fall. Sorry for not explaning it in the game.

sudocoffee 2025-04-08 01:05

This was pretty cute! It was like tetris the puzzle-adventure game. I liked how there were always paths to jump back up to higher levels if you forgot to bring something with you.

chocolatedoodads 2025-04-08 02:01

pret good like the ideao i woudl say sigma sigama boy

zerocomms 2025-04-08 02:16

Got stuck a few times at the first green piece. Interesting concept!

nimbushead 2025-04-08 02:50

That was really cool! A very creative take on the tetris theme. There is some buggy behavior when rotate without enough room. The way you designed the levels to introduce mechanics without being too punishing was stellar, too! Great job!

pres2300 2025-04-08 03:59

What an awesome take on Tetris! This was a really great game. I could play this for a very long time. I think I found a bug. I was rotating on top of the l shape and then suddenly it clipped through the level. Other than that, this was great. Well done!

yangtuofeel 2025-04-08 04:04

This game is amazing! It's hard to imagine that it was done by one person. I'm a big fan of puzzle solving, and this game is really, really good.

rinevard 2025-04-08 04:10

@pres2300 Thanks for playing! I’ve noticed some bugs with the green L piece too. I’m not sure how to fix them yet, but I’ll definitely look into it when I get some time. Appreciate your feedback!

Update 2025.4.10: I think now the bug is fixed!😊

ollulf 2025-04-08 08:46

This is really sweet small tetris puzzler. I love how you combined both "genres" and also the soundtrack and the effects are really cute! Cool game! :D

mega-marlon 2025-04-08 08:59

It always surprises me when people can push Tetris into new territory. This was awesome! I had a little trouble lining up the block you have to push, but other than that really interesting and fun take on Tetris!

dywanix 2025-04-08 09:55

Very interesting concept! At first I wasnt expecting to see that kind of gameplay haha

pusheeneiro 2025-04-08 10:33

WOW soo smart idea. I love this type of logic games.

enad96 2025-04-08 10:44

Nice take on Tetris! cute little character too

javasaurus 2025-04-08 12:05

Lovely game ! Me and my kids would love to play a full version of this. It has very good puzzle elements with multiple solutions, which is very forgiving. I love that ! Audio and art also were working very well together. Thank you and congratulations on such a nice entry !

pikario 2025-04-08 14:17

What a nice game with a cool twist on Tetris! Really enjoyed it :)

haokai-xu-1999 2025-04-08 14:19

Really cool game! You bring something new to the Tetris world, I really like you puzzle design using this classical mechanics.

Hoping to play you game on steam one day.

tomtomgome 2025-04-08 19:38

Wow this was so cool! I've never seen a tetris twist used like this, and it is very well executed. This one frustrating point in that you or your pieces are often getting stuck, but the rotate commands recover pretty much everything. This congratulation screen is brilliant! Really cool use of the mechanic

protzz 2025-04-08 20:28

SUCH A COOL IDEA, GOOD JOB!

gamebuilder 2025-04-09 01:16

Got stuck in one of the levels through some weird bug. Not sure how it happened. Could not extract myself. Still, very creative. An unusual game.

undertestris-screenshot.png

rinevard 2025-04-09 01:53

@gamebuilder Sorry to hear that, you can restart the level in the Esc menu if you want. Appreciate your feedback! Update 2025.4.10: I think now the bug is fixed!😊

chiyeon 2025-04-09 08:45

As others have already mentioned, really clever take on an existing game that plays well with the original rules! Especially mechanics like rotation opened up a lot of doors for more interesting puzzle designs and level layouts. I experienced 2 small softlocks with pushable objects getting stuck in places or the player getting stuck (but as already mentioned restarting the level worked fine for my purposes). Overall fun to play. Great job!

sadvest 2025-04-09 10:51

Very creative design! The reward at the end of the level feels really satisfying. One issue I encountered is that when there isn't enough space after rotating, I get stuck and end up being strangely stretched. Also, I noticed the player and movable blocks are slightly smaller than the environment blocks. Curious about the reason behind the design. Nice work!

rinevard 2025-04-09 11:12

@sadvest Thanks for playing and you really have keen eyes! The player and movable blocks are slightly smaller because I've found they can't fit in the interval if they have the same collision size with the environment blocks. In fact, many of movable blocks have circle or ellipse collision to make them correctly fit in the intervals. As for the rotation stuck, I had decided to only allow rotate if there is enough space, but end up having no time implementing this. The stretch is because the player is streched if they are not on floor, which makes jumping feel better. 😊

dstoc 2025-04-09 12:10

Loved it. Excellent concept.

Physics is hard... :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

2025-04-09_22-06.png

This helped me with a similar problem (property on RigidBody2D):

2025-04-09_22-08.png

I think ideally you would use "Cast Shape" but that doesn't seem to work for me at all...

rinevard 2025-04-09 14:24

@dstoc Thanks for playing and your feedback! Unfortunately using "Cast Ray" and "Cast Shape" both doesn't work. I disabled rotation ability when it causes overlap with moving blocks, I hope it helps.

rinevard 2025-04-09 23:47

@sypiac @zerocomms @pres2300 @tomtomgome @gamebuilder @chiyeon @dstoc Appreciate your feedback! I disabled rotation ability when it causes overlap with moving blocks. I hope it fixes the bug!

thisyc 2025-04-10 00:32

mmm excellent twist on tetris and combining it with platforming! 10/10 innovation. I do wish the platforming section can be more challenging, taking advantage of our rectangular-shaped character, but still really really unique entry, I love it.

rubatotree 2025-04-12 12:35

好厉害的创意!这次 LD 最惊喜的游戏!期待能在这个玩法基础上设计出更有趣的谜题。加油!

Amazing innovation! The most surprising game I've played in LD57. I'm looking forward to more puzzles based on this gameplay. Very good job!

camer-the-dragon 2025-04-13 18:16

Really cool! I like the colours and the puzzle gameplay elements especially. One time I got a block stuck, but the levels are short enough so restarting was fine

mikan 2025-04-13 21:26

Very cool concept. It would be even better if we could pull the block, sometimes it will be pushed to a position where it cannot be taken out.

mikan 2025-04-14 16:47

My playthrough: https://youtu.be/WpKfT9Bbf_8

rinevard 2025-04-14 23:03

@mikan Thanks for playing! I noticed that sometimes the block gets pushed into a position where it cannot be retrieved. 😂 If I continue working on this game in the future, I will definitely add the ability to pull blocks back.

agraffs 2025-04-15 09:04

Nice use of tetris's mechanics, it gives birth to a super creative plateformer. Weel done :)

mod-wiz 2025-04-16 12:11

It's a very interesting idea that is well done. Always a delight to see more puzzle platformers in this jam. I wish it would have more levels and maybe mechanics, but the length is good considering timeframe, especially for COMPO entries. Also i managed to softlock myself 2 times, so maybe a dedicated reset level button would be nice, I used R in my submission. I hope this idea will be developed further!

rinevard 2025-04-16 22:53

@mod-wiz Thanks for playing! If I continue working on this game in the future, I'll try my best to avoid softlock. I think adding the ability to pull blocks could help a lot.

oeuegha 2025-04-17 06:32

Good puzzles, but i have a problem in a start - it's not very intuitive, that u need to press "up" or "down" for " puzzle stripe's of blocks" disappearing.

rinevard 2025-04-17 13:20

@oeuegha Thanks for playing! Pressing "up" or "down" is not necessary, the player have to stand still to make the line cleared. I used to think that this gives the player more control over their fall. Sorry for not explaning it in the game.

egor-iv 2025-04-19 06:17

cool game Снимок экрана от 2025-04-19 09-15-51.png

roroto-sic 2025-04-21 16:48

The audio is very good. it made a cozy puzzle game believable! :) Cute art! Interesting gameplay ! its a great entry !:)

ira-baciu 2025-10-03 17:32

I like the jump sound and the small trace from moving ^^
