This was neat! The switch from 2D to 3D was semi-unexpected ("no way they switch perspective right..?") and very impressive. Building up your moveset by picking up powers was cool, I could see this turning into a compelling puzzle game if developed further. Really enjoyed this, well done!

@bad-fetus thank you! I wish I had more time to complete the puzzle part😔

linus-lindberg 2025-10-06 09:06

Fun and unique twist on snake. The switch to 3 was very cool. I loved the concept of multiple snakes on different levels. I wish there was more of a challenge to it as just collecting the items was quite easy. A way to lose might have made it more challenging. All in all a good jam game, well done!

dhim 2025-10-06 09:36

Wha! excellent trick to go from 2d to 3d I found that really nice. Not sure what all the other buttons do.. Well I know now. I don't think I could die also, cause I went unto walls and over myself several time.

I have seen that you use gitlab:

I have created badges that you can use to decorate your README:

``` Ludum Dare Ludum Dare 58 - Compo Ludum Dare 58 - Jam Ludum Dare 58 - Extra ```
Wow, cool idea with the multiple snakes and the 2D/3D switching!
pincushion 2025-10-06 12:10
I like this!
I like collecting the abilities. The 2d/3d switch was memorable. I think the arrows came to early. I hadn't noticed that I couldn't move in other directions yet.
I'm not sure if there's a point to eating the apples. The snake grows, but I didn't see an impact beyond seeing a longer snake.
I had one of those aha! moments when I saw the snakes stacking after seeing items in the air. Then later when I saw the instruction on the ground to press space to switch between them. Nice.
nash 2025-10-06 12:21
The 3D was a total surprise! I initially thought it was just a regular snake with a different view, but who would’ve guessed it was a whole new perspective! :)
Some of the powers I didn’t quite get either or they didn’t seem to do anything. But maybe it was just me - it’s tough to make sure everything is easy to understand in a jam game!
Overall, it was a solid entry. And bonus pointssss for the pun in the menu!
plastus 2025-10-06 12:55
When the game suddenly switched to multidimensional snakes I had the biggest "Ohhhhh" Moment xD
Like, before the perspektive switched I was kinda confused because the second snake would go over walls or wouldn't collect some apples and I thought "This must be a bug" but when the perspective changed EVERYTHING MADE SENSE and I realised it was all done on purpose to fool me!
Biggest plottwist I've seen in any game jam I participated in by far!
alex-mulkerrin 2025-10-06 14:24
Having powerups change the gameplay was cool and I like the concept of controlling multiple snakes in a game. The hand drawn illustrations on the cubes was cute.
niterich 2025-10-06 18:46
Very impressive game! People are talking a lot about the switch from 2D to 3D but I was equally impressed by how the extra heads were added in. There were a lot of great instances where you showed, not told, the player what to do and I think that works well to invite the player in to learn more. I just wish there was more to the gameplay itself and what to actually do once you've gotten all three heads.
nekowei 2025-10-07 14:21
@dhim Thank you! I will add those badge in gitlab.
nekowei 2025-10-07 14:28
@pincushion Thanks for the detail. The original idea was to eat snake itself to grow high level body, which need a lot of apple to feed, sadly I don't have enough time to complete it.
nekowei 2025-10-07 14:31
@nash Thank you! Due to time limit, some of those items are indeed useless. Maybe I will complete them in future.
nekowei 2025-10-07 14:34
@plastus Thank you! Actually those extra snakes should not move elsewhere by design, but time limit let them fly by will...
nekowei 2025-10-07 14:37
@niterich Thank you for finding those learning hint! There should be some level for three heads cooperation, but time limit you know...
既然知道是国人了那就用中文好了。
collector这个theme做贪吃蛇是再好不过了,最近玩了一些其他compo,把键位控制作为collect的元素我觉得是很亮眼的设计。
看到你的封面想到最近看的Trifolium,不知道你有没有看过那个,我个人感觉蛮像,叠加的机制其实蛮有设计潜力的。
另外不知道是沟槽的Win11的问题还是游戏本身机制的实现不完善吧,我玩的时候蛇没叠起来过,有时候苹果吃不掉(蛇变长了但渲染苹果还在原位),看上面截图看上去蛇应该叠起来才对但是我这边就完全没有,蛇乱穿墙等等。之前在玩其他人的游戏也各种问题真服了,我觉得真有可能是Windows11和Godot有不兼容还是怎么回事(恼)...
yuriscat 2025-10-08 13:30
Oi bro,跟着Akuta Zehy那边的您的评论过来的,我通关了您的游戏,我觉得很好啊!虽然您说时间紧迫,但是您已经完整的制作出来一个概念演示了,惊艳我的地方有两次,第一次是我意识到这是通过收集要素来给蛇蛇获得能力,第二次是2D转3D的时候,虽然我知道3D吃了大概会转3D,但是我没想到后面还有关于三个头高度的事儿。 总之我觉得您完成的很棒,何况您参加的还是Compo这种时间更极限的,请不用担心!这超酷的!
对了,我想问下其他几个图标您原本是打算做成什么样的效果呢?
ciphereo 2025-10-08 14:07
I think I did an excellent job. Especially the conversion from 2D to 3D really surprised me. It's truly remarkable to have created such a complete and creative work within just three days! I absolutely love it!
nekowei 2025-10-08 15:01
@ciphereo Thanks and it's two days work haha
nekowei 2025-10-08 15:06
@akuta-zehy 会不会是你没吃到3d的那个item,停留在2d视角确实会看起来乱乱的…… @yuriscat 感谢你的评价,其实后续还有一些想做的东西,比如多个蛇头互动才能解开的谜题,本来是想让上层蛇头只能在本体上延申,超过距离会弹回来,但是没时间了只能随意飞翔😅 我没玩过Trifolium,看了一下确实已经有人做了很多类似的创意了 我觉得这个玩法还有发挥空间,咱们接下来的taptap聚光灯比赛有缘再会了
yuriscat 2025-10-08 15:18
@nekowei 也已经很棒了,说到随意飞翔,那个通关之后没有暂停,真的是随意飞翔哈哈哈 聚光灯可能不去了最近有点忙( 可能会把时间多拿来打磨这次的LD游戏,然后上steam看看,祝您聚光灯顺利w
mdotedot 2025-10-08 18:55
When I saw your snake-screenshot I HAD to test it since I did a mini-game with the same mechanic. BUT yours is so much better! At one time I thought that I had a bug but then realized it was the head I could use in 3D .. What a great idea and well executed. Hitting a wall gives now different strategy options. Very clever! Thank you for creating and sharing this! Great work!
nekowei 2025-10-09 00:50
@mdotedot Thank you for notice these detail!
eugenik 2025-10-09 13:50
Very original take on the theme!.
ellaris 2025-10-09 20:31
Really cool, when I picked the 3d I had instant regret, it would be so much easier to jut pick them up in 2d :laughing:
elanor 2025-10-10 01:05
This is pretty neat!
There's a few collision bugs, but it was really fun :]
elanor 2025-10-10 01:05
@dhim Thanks for sharing this!
nekowei 2025-10-10 01:55
@ellaris Actually you can't pick everything in 2d, at least you can't see which level it is. I will improve 3d experience to make people feel better. Thank you! @elanor Collision bugs might means you didn't collect the 3d item, so you can't see your snakes are in a different height level and miss the item or walls. Thanks for the report!
elanor 2025-10-10 03:32
@nekowei Ohhh that makes sense! I'll try it again :p
atsh 2025-10-10 04:05
The moment everything turned 3d really surprised me, I don't know how I missed the screenshot above! Well done!
pres2300 2025-10-10 05:03
I definitely didn't expect the switch to 3D and having multiple layers of the level to collect things from. That was an impressive surprise! It gave the classic game a really unique twist. Nice work!
ellaris 2025-10-10 08:49
@nekowei I meant it more as a joke, there was nothing wrong with it, it was just like making your life unnecessarily hard, I figured you would eventually have to pick it up, but I think it was a cool experience nevertheless.
patatje 2025-10-10 21:16
fun little game :) cool idea that you can control multiple snakes at once! Maybe a speed upgrade/item would be cool in a postjam version?
nekowei 2025-10-13 09:31
@atsh @pres2300 Thank you! @patatje Thanks, I will! Let's see how far we can be next time.
drikdrok 2025-10-14 03:32
Extremely cool idea! Feels like this could be turned into something even greater post-jam, but as it is, I really like it as an LD entry!
ginger-kyoko 2025-10-22 00:09
Well, that was an interesting concept. I was a little surprised when it went into 3D. However, I didn't understand how to go back later. It's a cool game. Keep it up!
By the way, if you like weird atmospheres, you might want to check out our game!😛
