Scrap Field by ping78 2018-08-22T04:07:16Z
Fun game. I started to get pretty good at flinging the scrap into the back of my ship. The stations kept taking my credits and not giving me anything though?

Nice one! Finished with Happiness: 84%, Housing: 94% and Employment: 83%. The story at the start was great and I really liked the theme.
I really liked this game. I wish there was more urgency for getting a vessel out. Maybe it should automatically leave after a certain amount of time, bonus points for sending it early.
It requires a satisfying squish noise when running over the enemies!
@assertfailure Thank you, yeah it was deliberate to hide each characters opinion. Unfortunately I ran out of time so I didn't get to finish all of the conversations I had planned, but there are a few conversations with characters locked behind their opinion of you. Also if I was a better dialogue writer it would hopefully come through with how "engaging" the other people speak with you.
@kristinamay Yes! I wanted to make it feel like the other characters would grow more distant / close depending on how you answer. I didn't get to finish / make enough conversations for each character to make that very apparent though. The Matt character has a lot of dialogue but his opinion sways hard when you don't answer / turn him down and he will stop messaging you all together if you aren't doing things with him whenever he messages you (at the cost of a lot of stress)
@cavedens Thank you for playing!
@chris-mondok Yeah I kept getting spam on my phone and thought it would be fun to just throw a few in. There are penalties to your answers (or not answering at all) each character has an opinion level for you and some conversations are locked at certain thresholds. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to implement all of the conversations and add more filler conversations.
Nice, was relaxing. I liked the dog automation with traps
Really fun game!
Fun puzzles! I felt the difficulty ramp wasn't too bad, never got stuck on a level for more than a minute or two.
This was a lot of fun, could definitely see this as a full game!
Brings memories back of playing the original GTA! I wish there were more uses for the water cannon. The illegal gathering spawns were more fun than the supply drops.
Thank you all for the feedback. Audio for me has definitely been lacking in ludum dare submissions.
@slimmerburger Yes more juice! Definitely want to get better at that aspect for these jams. Thank you for playing! @cabjhegas Yeah I originally was hoping for more combos to come from the interactions between spells to counter enemies, like using the wall to block enemies and putting acid under them. I also was indenting for fire to be used to clear slimes that rush you while acid could be used on mages that mostly stand still, didn't get it all perfect though in the end I felt fire was just really strong. @joshuarabbit Thank you, the combos were a key idea I had early on. I wanted to make it feel frantic pushing buttons (and a little dangerous if you ended up mixing too many) @honey-pony Thank you. Yeah speed was an early idea, it was a bit more useful on Friday night/Saturday morning when the game wasn't just single screen rooms and more of a full dungeon-y type thing where you had to run around a lot and also when the camera was far more zoomed out so there was more room to run around and being speedy was really helpful. it also lasted like a full minute instead of the 4 or 5 seconds it does now.
@cabjhegas haha, I'm glad he liked it! thank you both for playing :)
It was quite fun but really tough. A lot of the jumps were hard to gauge especially with the ropes, I felt like I would get caught up on the rope after swinging. Did you test out adding double jump or wall jumping? I think this could be a really fun endless runner. Nice job!
Great puzzle game. Nice job!
The physics felt really good, did the elements being weighed automatically switch to a new one when it was balanced or just after a set time I didn't quite figure out if the goal was to make it completely balanced 50/50 for a set time, or have it also horizontal
This was really fun. Graphics were great, and I loved the mechanics really unique!
Was fun to play around with. ~~What is the trick with getting the temperature down? I couldn't figure out to get to 10Β° to get double blue reaction~~ nevermind I just decided to dump as much as could and it started dropping! Capture.PNG

Fun take on breakout, having the special moves be tied to hitting the top in certain areas was a good idea. I feel like there should be more of a penalty for having bricks pile up, I felt it was safe to ignore an employee for a while to just boost a single one.
Nice job, puzzles were interesting. The turbo commands were a good addition, could be fun with a longer chain to have to enable and disable the turbo multiple times
Really fun concept! Dashing to tables to reset is a really cool mechanic. Nice job!
Wow! The opening movie was just perfect and a fun little puzzle too! Good job!
This is a really cool concept. I wonder how this could be further developed. A story based game about a writer whos characters come to life in the editor to attack the text? A programmer at work who gets a virus that attacks their code? Really interesting concept here!
Grats on your first game jam! Level 6 was hectic but fun!
Fun idea and game. Would love to see this expanded on into a full game like Zachtronics games.
Nice clicker, the idea of having the RGB act as individual currencies combine in the main click element is really interesting.
This is an amazing puzzle. I could definitely see a lot of variants being developed for this like sudoku. Would love to see more!
It caught me off guard when I got the colors but not in the right order. Interesting little mechanic with remembering the spawn points and plotting a path to get them all in the right order
Solid puzzle game, really loved the alien language and theming you did. Nice job!
This is a really neat game. The cutting, sponging and adding to the collection felt good. Your art for the letters and stuff looked really good.
The concept works really well and I think it could definitely be expanded into something awesome!
Fun game, at first I was confused because I didn't realize you had to grow the flowers by having the shapes over already planted spots, I thought there was going to be some kind of growth that happens as I spread out the seeds around the rocks or something. Once I got into it was a nice game, zen mode was nice, less stressful. Nice job!
Way too real, always ended up running out of happiness. The pressure from not moving out took so much after the declining 2 times.
Really great! I'd love to play an expanded version of this!
Fun quick game!
Short but interesting. The art and sound were really good. Nice job!
I love incremental games! This was hilarious and I wish it didn't end so soon.
Nice job! Has a lot of depth for a jam. Managed to get a tiny bit of profit, didn't realize the turn timer and I wasted a ton of turns just walking around the map.
Is there any logic to spawning and the rarity of coins further out from the center?
Excellent! Was a lot of fun, clicked right from the start and was fun the whole way through.
Thanks all for playing. Yeah I originally didn't need the codebook because everything auto filled in but I changed that late in the weekend. Also I wanted to not have the codebook at all and have people keep track with pen and paper based on stuff they see in game like Heaven's Vault or something but I can't design something like that in 48 hours, was in way over my head with that one.
@bushfire I made the fill in kinda weird right at the end. The first version I made it so it auto filled in words, but felt it was boring then an hour before submission I changed it so you always need to fill in, but it should lock in some of the words based on how many words are in the sentence up to 3. But I think I screwed it up and it just requires everything to be set.
That was really fun. Finished all the levels, the ! signals were a bit confusing about where they were going to actually go so I just tried to react to those instead of lining up where I was. Getting the double jump and larger goal was a nice surprise. Would love to see more powerups and wacky stuff added to this!
Relaxing, polished, good feel. Good job!
Nice, I had a similar idea with my entry. The art was really good! Went through a few levels, would love to see some ramp up on levels if you continue this. Tower/Relay amount, different nodes to spice things up, etc. Good job!
Fun game. I liked the layering of mechanics as it went on, different platforms, disappearing globally, having to race the water pipes.
I'm not sure if the point was to fix all the tvs before getting to the end but I found out that just going to the truck goes to the next level so I ended up skipping a few.
Tried a few runs, think I had 21 seconds as my best. Nice job!
Nice job! Fun story
I think I figured it out, you just want to not have the satellites you place in orbit crash? The orbit ones just have a set orbit size so you need to line those up so they don't cross so much and the stationary ones you just don't want to place right in the orbit of another satellite since those don't move?
nice idea, love rhythm games and this was a fun twist on it
I had the black box bug as well on Firefox, but i could at least get half the signal right
I like the idea of sending signals out that can activate enemies. Using this as a base you can probably get a really cool game with some expansion stuff like colonizing worlds and protecting your civilization while trying to avoid attracting too many enemies.
Great game, the pixel art was awesome. It got really crazy trying to handle everything.
Great entry. This was a bit like an idea I had in LD48. It was definitely stressful trying to keep the popups away, what is happening when the screen goes greyscale?
It took a few deaths to figure out what was going on but once I got the hang of it it was really fun. Nice job!
Really fun, quite addictive. Liked getting a strong lifesteal build and just healing to full each hit
