Impressive graphics, and I really loved the part where I a duck summon a bunch of dogs to kill some evil scientist

risminator 2024-04-15 06:26

It's very fun to plan ahead where to go and where to summon animals to avoid scientists! Throwing a good portal knocks enemies a bit, which especially helps at the start of the game when you don't have any additional abilities.

I was confused by having 3 different summoning spells, however. Initially thought that they would be able to interact (dog chases cat, cat chases bird?), but it doesn't seem to be like that. The possibility of combining those like that would be a great way to diversify gameplay and raise skill ceiling.

Thank you very much for your game!

The graphics and audio are both super cool. Like the idea that distance of the portal changes damage, but also takes longer.

Thats remember to me a lot of old video game, the realisation is hight, the concept is very funny. good job !

Really nice polished game! Love the graphics and the intro was funny. I thought the duck movement was a bit slow, and when I entered the second room there were so many enemies I couldn't avoid them. Overall nice work!

Great game submission!

Loved the music and art style.

There was a good amount of variety with upgrades.

Also cool to see another fellow game based around summoning animals :)

Amazing work!

Incredible game, so much polish, game feel and fun. Thank you

This was a great game! The graphics, music, sound effects, and gameplay were all really fantastic. My only critique would be that I wish I could move faster when not in combat. Otherwise, this was a great submission and enjoyable to play. Nice work!

Great game! Gave me some Hotline Miami vibes Amazing amount of polish

worldofmush 2024-04-15 14:45

Great idea! Graphics are cool and I like how you just summon animals instead of some crazy demon creatures. Wish walking was a bit faster, but other than that was cool and graphics were good.

Adorable! Nice game and a good polish. Continue!

Adorable game, and also yay for starting out as a duck. I had some shaking on the screen which I was not sure if it was intentional or some kind of pixel-perfect jitter artifact. The particle effects were super cool

So cool, I really like ducks ! Summoning is really juicy, I like

Just wow. Extremely nice entry! The sounds were the thing that really did it for me, even though the whole package was top notch. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that I had to listen to a barking dog throughout my play trough as I managed to summon one out of bounds at the start

This game has a crazy amount of stuff for being build in such a short time!

helviett 2024-04-15 22:35

Nice visuals! Though animals aren't too different unfortunately.

altaf-creator 2024-04-16 02:45

Nice game! It was harder than I thought. I really like the funny story at the start! The game feels very polished with nice particles. Also cute animals!

I didn't really notice that there was a mana bar at the bottom right. But the game is great and has a nice amount of content in it! Great job!

Very nice rogue lite with nice and simple mechanics. One issue I encountered was getting stuck to walls, when trying to avoid the scientists. This caused quite a bit of frustration, but overall did enjoy playing the game :)

It's very nice, love that little duck! I love that idea with summoning animals. In my opinion it's little bit too hard in the beginning so I died lot of times..(

dvdagames 2024-04-16 19:32

Nice little experience. Movement speed in the beginning is brutal, but you can use diagonals to move a bit faster. Got surrounded and beaten mercilessly a few times.

kirass 2024-04-16 22:33

Cool game, I liked it!

Loved the graphics and the audio. Also the setting and the humor. Nice vibes.

Gameplay.. after losing once and realising what's important, it got a bit boring, because it was essentially running away from the enemies while waiting for the mana to replenish. Not much risk. There was a bit of skill involved in throwing the portal right in the middle of a group of enemies, as to hit multiple of them with a single animal. But given there was no danger, no risk of dying by that point of the game, it was just a matter of hoping it progressed to the end asap to see what happens.

I also discovered a game breaking bug where if you stand on the edge of a room, but not to the point where you see the enemies spawn... the enemies have actually spawned, but they are invisible. And you can attack them.

It would have been more comfortable if one could use the shift key for the dash (on a trackpad, having to do left click vs right click is meh).

Some ideas for the gameplay: - animals not only consume different amounts of mana, but also have a favourable matchup against the type of enemy - traps on the rooms / floor. something that makes running away from the enemies more challenging and less mindless - a quack button - mana regen as an upgrade option - enemies throw more projectiles, and from further away (as to make it harder in the later part of the game) - maybe enemies with different AI, which you have to escape in a different way - the animals are not just for attacking, but have some other purpose - some type of goal or reward for players who achieve difficult feats (feats beyond surviving). e.g. not getting hit by a single enemy in a room. letting the enemies try to melee you but dodging it. summoning 3 animals of different species (bird+cat+dog) has some type of benefit. creating a portal right on top of an enemy sends the enemy to another dimension. etc. bonus for near miss those projectiles enemies throw. maybe a jump button to dodge those projectiles. enemy projectiles could hit other enemies, which may make it interesting to take some risk and try to squeeze between enemies. things to raise the challenge for skilled players, but that don't raise the challenge for the other players.

Thank you for sharing!! <3

Really cool graphics, music and effects! Just feels very good to play.

The "summon far away for more damage" was a very interesting mechanic and added a nice layer of strategy, but didn't feel very intuitive when playing the game - I think getting more feedback when you did this and being able to discern more easily how much damage you're doing would be nice.
