LD52 — Harvest

Cat Farm Panic ! by Yvanor 2023-01-26T19:14:25Z

This kinda reminded me of tamagotchi  The gameplay loop was overall surprisingly fun despite the simplicity. Some cats did start to get annoyed right after they finished eating or other businesses though which was kinda confusing.

Manshroom Harvest by A.Bond 2023-01-26T21:26:22Z

I'm pretty sure the shrooms played a bigger part than just a source of inspiration with this one  Really had no idea what I was doing, even after the gameplay video

The Gold'n Apples by kikiriki367 2023-01-26T22:03:12Z

It took me a while to understand that all the benefits were gained only once after you placed down any tile  At first I thought the game was bugged when I wouldn't receive anything when placing a forest next to a house but after a couple of tries I got the hang of it. Like everyone above said, it's a really chill and relaxing game and I enjoyed it quite a bit  Sometimes the randomness really bit me in the arse though

Five Finger Copper Shopper by Don Fouts 2023-01-26T19:19:15Z

Maybe the best way to interpret the theme I've run into thus far  Extremely good idea but sadly I was unable to pick up most of the copper I managed to harvest from the house. Even when carrying 0 copper I wasn't able to pick stuff up. But letting that slide this was a really solid entry!

Mustered by arron-fowler 2023-01-26T19:49:34Z

It was a good thing I waited to until I was done with work... I spent way too long playing this  Really solid job here! I managed to get to a point where loosing seemed impossible quite quick though. Not sure if that's a bad thing or not.

Data Miner by Geek5510 2023-01-26T21:01:49Z

A really solid entry. The gas felt a bit sluggish but otherwise a really good execution. I personally just didn't enjoy the gameplay that much but I can see that for a different person this would be a great game! Also gotta say that the datamining was really inventive angle for the theme

Bloopy by SvenErik 2023-01-10T09:57:36Z

I really liked this! The music, art and gameplay loop all felt really polished even if the loop was a bit shallow. But it's a jam game so the fact that you got to this point is already impressive. I bet that with a bit more complexity this this would be an awesome game. I also hoped that the recycler and robots would have some kind of visual indicator on their progress  Maybe that could be an upgrade you could buy with the ideas given by the friendly robot? I really hope you expand this idea in the future!

Overroasted by Dock Frankenstein 2023-01-26T22:38:26Z

This would have been a super chill game to play even a bit longer with a bit more instructions on how to play. The popcorn timer for example wasn't obvious enough for me to understand that I have to wait before the produce is ready to sell. A really nice framework to build upon! Just add some sounds and polish the UI and this will be a really nice one

Harvest Insula by Paul-Maxime 2023-01-27T04:56:52Z

This reminded me of cookie cliker in a good way  Nothing too serious or complicated but effective. And gotta give props for using just Vue!

The Wilds by Ty Victorson 2023-01-26T20:36:07Z

As stated above, you can really see the feature creep in this one  A lot of great ideas but unfortunately the execution is hampered by the fact that instead of polishing a couple of ideas, there's a bunch of half finished ideas. E.g. crafting a spear doesn't do anything expect deplete the reagents from your inventory, having a whole cave area that is visually blocked off but no collision to prevent you from going there or enemies having no sounds and creeping up on you etcetc. This could have been a really great jam game had you just tempered your expectations a teensy bit

Petra Rabbit's Carrot Chase by TheseusInABottle 2023-01-09T10:59:31Z

My only gripe with this was the fact the there wasn't more levels to play  I bet this would be even better with a controller and thumbsticks! A really solid work!

Forked Up by Paroxysmal 2023-01-09T10:53:43Z

Very nice! I kept pressing ESC when trying to exit the shop and that caused me to loose my progress a couple of times but despite that I kept playing. Really solid work for a compo!

Maylee's Recipe by Sikowny 2023-01-26T21:31:18Z

I managed to play a bit, but not having arrow keys on my keyboard (yes, that's a thing) really hampered the experience  The music and graphics were super nice though

Projekt Harvest by webDrag0n 2023-01-17T21:13:15Z

The premise was really good but I couldn't harvest anything  The robot harvestes also got stuck whenever it wasn't travelling on the up-down axel. Altogether a nice looking and sounding end product even though the game aspect could have used some more polish :)

harvest.sh by Parker Nalch 2023-01-26T21:23:12Z

If you make a vim plugin out of this I will 100% install it  It was maybe a tad bit too easy too easy to get to a state where you just couldn't loose anymore. Maybe every movement would cause the plants to grow instead of watering them? 15/5 for the idea and execution

The Cave Mushroom by PSV Games Studio 2023-01-26T21:43:31Z

Really great job! One of the best scaling I've seen in a puzzle game in a while  The battery charging mechanic felt a bit tacked on since it didn't really add anything to the gameplay. But since that was the only actual issue I had with this I have to say that this was a really impressive one!

Soul's Path by Gabriel Chan 2023-01-26T22:17:15Z

I got a really Ori-esq vibe from the game. In a good way:smile: The graphics were beautiful as were the sounds! My only gripe was the fact that the controls kept inverting themselves when the character was upside down, but that was the only thing that even slightly annoyed me so all and all great work!

Void Reader - A desktop multiplayer game. by DaivyIsHere 2023-01-26T20:11:17Z

Extremely cool! I enjoyed this one way too much  You really should expand on this. My only gripe was that the refresh timer seemed a bit long in the beginning when you couldn't really get that far into the void.

Harvest by Tod Semple 2023-01-27T08:15:31Z

A really fun game but could have used some simple sounds. Like the other comments stated, it became a bit of an afk game quite fast, but it was fun to have it run in he background and periodically check how you're doing

Let there be Light by karatoga 2023-01-26T22:57:29Z

I had to read the comments and instructions a couple of times to actually get the hang of the game. But once I did, it was a really good one! The game itself could give you a bit clearer instructions on how to play. The small window in the top right corner wasn't clear on what is happening, since when firing a golden crow it would flash multiple different things and would just confuse me more than help  But despite that I really liked the game! Solid work!

Organ-ized Crime by ZungryWare 2023-01-10T10:08:20Z

Surprisingly fun! I think that you should always get to ask more questions regardless if the target is a valid donor or not. I realized that if I ask about current sports events, some of the people don't allow me to ask further questions ruling them out after the first questions. But that's just my preference and would also mean that you'd have to write more dialog since going over the same ones repeatedly would get jarring after some time

But overall great idea and execution!

∆ntHill by redcoff 2023-01-26T20:43:41Z

My only gripe was that the explorer ants got stuck from time to time and if I wasn't paying attention to them at the time they would die on their journey without ever notifying me  Otherwise really nice jam game! Most important thing was that I was having fun when the explorers weren't dying of starvation whilst trying to move through a rock or a stick

harvRTS by CatThingy 2023-01-09T09:45:30Z

It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it all but once I did I really enjoyed it! Awesome work! I'd maybe tweak the timers just a bit. Especially when you have more plots they it feels like the decay happens way too fast  Overall a great game!

Reap What They Sow by RaggedyJam 2023-01-27T05:19:36Z

I really liked the sounds and graphics! Simple but effective! It took me a long while to find some plants to nab and when the bird swooped down there were no hay stacks for me to hide in  All and all the mechanics worked really well but the level design could use some love

LD55 — Summoning

Burnout Purgatory by Samuli 2024-04-16T09:03:32Z

A very solid entry! The slow reader mode was a good addition, since without it I found myself just quickly scanning for keywords and not actually reading the sentences. It might have also been a good idea to have the descriptions and functionalities of different demons somewhere outside of the game itself. It took me a while to realise that they even were there  But despite my nitpicks, I still think this is a phenomenal entry! Great work!

Orbitals by pvg 2024-04-15T19:59:16Z

I didn't have a gamepad to try this out with, but at least with a keyboard the controls are over sensitive. It's really hard to make precise movements when you accelerate so fast. But despite that I really liked the concept. I might try and find a controller and see if that would help

Merge or Die by Jose Pedro Dias 2024-04-15T18:48:24Z

Very neat package! Extra points for rust

Dimension Duck by gemcc 2024-04-15T19:21:07Z

Just wow. Extremely nice entry! The sounds were the thing that really did it for me, even though the whole package was top notch. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that I had to listen to a barking dog throughout my play trough as I managed to summon one out of bounds at the start

Loitsumaali by vinzBad 2024-04-16T06:31:56Z

I really loved this one. Excellent idea and execution. I was just sad that there weren't any more spells to use. I realy hope you expand this idea in the future. I'd be glad to try out a more fleshed out version.

There were couple minor oddities that could be worth looking into. Or then I'm just a dummie and didn't see the information  - The push spell seemed like it sometimes dealt damage and sometimes not and I'm not sure was it supposed to or not - The zap spell seemed to fire a bit too quick. I _think_ this was the intention - to have one faster spell - but the visualisation was a bit off and it felt like the spell was prematurely fired. - The golems could have used a timer/health bar of some sort to indicate that they are not permanent. My defensive line decided to nope out of the situation on a critical moment and cost me the game :joy:

Like I said, minor oddities. They didn't take away from the experience at all. All and all a really nice compo entry!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that "Torilla tavataan" (finnish inside joke, almost worthy of a googling). `Loitsumaali` translates to `Spell paint` which also works very well for the game. `Loitsumaalari` would have been an exact translation to `Spellpainter`. But close enough. Extra points for using finnish

Summongrel by James_7777 2024-04-16T08:14:23Z

Just wow. It's hard to believe that this was a compo submission  I hope you expand this idea further! There's a lot of potential to go forth.

Summoning the bigger one by AlxJE 2024-04-16T06:48:57Z

Excellent concept! And IMO worth expanding. Checked the comments after playing to see whether someone else had found any exploits and apparently they had. You could do what Portal did and make only some of the walls usable to prevent people from zipping around on a slime express. Or embrace it and design some levels around it

Little Armies by Aditigro 2024-04-15T19:39:20Z

I wanted to play more but my framerate took quite a hit after just a couple of minutes  I'll definitely check this one out again should you guys create a post-jam build

LD57 — Depths

Daniel Ratclick by paci 2025-04-07T19:34:50Z

Very neat package! I would have loved to get some more automatic resources or have the prices/city health be a bit less. Had to stop before completing the whole thing (I did get all upgrades at least once though!) to save myself from tendonitis

The Fall by Teist 2025-04-09T13:04:14Z

Very nice entry altogether! The music and visuals played very well together enhancing the feeling of speed as you played  I would have maybe tweaked the controls to be ever so slightly tigther, but that's just my personal preference. Despite that I did enjoy the game

The Deepest Diamond by Silliest Goose 2025-04-07T19:45:12Z

Very nice! It was a bit hard to gauge where they player was from time to time but despite that I managed to power through

Cyber Descent : 999 Depths by dongfangliu 2025-04-09T13:13:42Z

I was a bit baffled by the amount of stuff in the game already. It already felt quite polished and mature, but you could see that not all of the ideas made it in the time for the jam  All and all an extremely good entry! Hope you continue with this post-jam!
