Clever implementation of a unique idea, nice work.
Nice concept, and cute and simple implementation, but is there no indication of how much I've already harvested? Is there a time limit? I'm not sure if I'm doing well.
A good prototype.
I absolutely loved the idea, but there was no win/lose condition, which made me feel frustrated. Pure aethsetics which possibly could be converted into a puzzle game. Nice job!
@darkenezy @hungryroy thanks for your comments! I need to update the instructions to include viewing the score screen. Pressing escape brings up a summary screen showing how much water you have left, how many seeds you have in your satchel, and how much fuel your torch has remaining. In addition, it shows your current count of ripe crops harvested and crops you let spoil. The failure state is pretty hard to hit, since harvesting ripe crops refills these bars, but once you have zeros in all those bars and no ripe crops to harvest, you have lost the game and can restart by pressing r in the summary screen.
Thanks again for taking the time to play and comment!
Cringe, but in a good way:)
This is really cool! I like how each action has a set pattern/shape, so one has to think strategically before each action, lest they accidentally pick prematurely or outright burn good crops. I can see this being further expanded with an inventory/market system along with quests and penalties. Awesome work! ^~^
Cool game. The terminal graphics makes it really unique. Great work!
Fun idea! I had a big smile playing yours! Until I picked all the plants and ended up with an empty field. Then it was pretty much: sow, water water water water, pick and repeat. The starting-field felt a bit like a puzzle, maybe you could have made more puzzles like that! With objectives for instance :-)
If you make a vim plugin out of this I will 100% install it  It was maybe a tad bit too easy too easy to get to a state where you just couldn't loose anymore. Maybe every movement would cause the plants to grow instead of watering them? 15/5 for the idea and execution
Wow, amazing job! A really fun sandbox to play around with. I like how you've given the different functions their unique area of effect ( on a bigger scale this could be such a fun little puzzle game!) - reminded me a lot of playing Dwarf Fortress. Didn't take me long until I started seeing the symbols as buds and flowers :)
