Fun little game! I love the depth of puzzle you're able to get despite the small set of mechanics :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD58 → Sticky Turtles!

Fun little game! I love the depth of puzzle you're able to get despite the small set of mechanics :)
Simple but funny and original puzzle game. Easy to learn but need some thought to get a good score. My hight score is 22 :) Clean code without bugs. I didn't know this engine easy to understand.
This is a nice simple puzzle game idea. I like how minimalist the graphics are.
Cool game with a good puzzle mechanic! Can you get all the turtles?
@liquid yes you can get all of them! But I admit it's pretty tricky, so don't feel obligated, and leave the cave whenever you want :)
Holy cow this is *diabolically* hard, and so much fun - There's such an interesting logic to the mechanics, and the way that you've designed the level, which keeps me coming back to try again and again. Whenever I make a mistake, I can immediately see where I went wrong, and I immediately want to retry to do better next time.
My only complaint is that the undo button isn't super helpful for solution exploration, because of how many moves you might have to undo, once you've realized you've gone down a dead-end - It would have been *really* nice to have an "undo to last turtle" button as well, because the time I spent undoing meant that it would be faster to restart 90% of the time instead of hitting undo.
But dang, this is a *ton* of fun. I spent about a half hour playing so far, and I *will* be back to try to 100% all of the turtles. :) Great job!
Good luck @koolruz ;-) You're right, an "undo to last turtle" is well-thought ! Very tricky to do in puzzlescript though ^^

I told you I'd be back to 100% it :)
This was *so* much fun - Solution spoilers below
!> The way the level design taught me how to create "staircases" with my turtles on the left in order to get in/out of the narrow "lock" openings was great. That led to a massive moment of realization that I *didn't* need to grab the turtle on the far right to start, and could use the same staircase pattern to sneak in/out of the far right lock, which was also so good. And the fact that I had to put that far right turtle all the way to the left of my massive tower in order to keep from getting too tall was such a fun eureka moment! Really really fun, and I'm sad that it's over now. Great job!
@koolruz I have good news and bad news: it's not totally over... You still need to get out of the cave actually :-)

That last bit was brutal! (In a very fun way :) )
!> It was such a fun moment realizing that I had to grab the last turtle on the left midway through clearing out the top area, in order to reach the upper-rightmost turtle!
I'll have to check the rest out later! Thanks for sharing! :)
Hey, I played another round and got all turtles this time. The level design is really clever and I didn’t fully appreciate it the first time. It makes me wonder if there are interesting mathematical solvability criteria for levels of this type. This could turn into a great full puzzle game with multiple levels and more mechanics later on.

@koolruz thanks for the kind words :) I'm surprised because ||I usually do areas in the following order : left right left up right up|| so I guess you found a different turtle order :-)
@liquid thanks for the encouragements :) I feel like this levels kinda covers the mechanic already, not sure I'll do additional ones :) But now that I think of it I guess you can always do better puzzles with a portal gun mechanic... O:-)
I got curious after seeing someone mention the source code and took a look. I came across puzzlescript a while ago, but haven't tried it for anything yet. That's a cool idea to use it for that.
The game looks good. The written permission to drop off early is definitely appreciated. That said, I'm glad to see that others completed this as it definitly looks like quite the challenge to do so!
This was a very nice game! Very simple, easy to understand, yet very tricky! I am not happy to be making turtle soup tho, poor turtles 3
@basmet haha actually the "ending" depends on the number of turtles... (Which is kinda strange I admit)
Nice work! It's a neat sokoban-like that feels consistent, easy to start, and challenging to fully figure out (I couldn't figure out how to collect all of the turtles but had fun trying!). I think this could be well-suited to having multiple stages that introduce new "tricks" for each solution so that rather than having a blank canvas to figure out, there would be more incremental guidance to help players figure out how to approach different situations. Lots of fun!
Interesting puzzle mechanics, has a lot of potential for a full game!

Lovely turtle game ^_^
Definitely difficult! Really simple and well made, though. Nice work!
Really interesting game with a neat aesthetic which reminds me of my own project :) The main gameplay is clever - something between SnakeBird and Sokoban. Everything works well as expected. maybe more levels with a progressive difficulty? Thank you for your review for my own project. I wish you the best ++
