I think I suck at your game. I love your idea, love tower defenses ! But i can't kill more than 2 bugs with turrets, I can't make money fast enought. (looking for easy mode :D)

Hard but addictive game. I retried many times and I can see my progress. Well done !
Wave 24 reached. Mechanic of harvest/reinvest is curious and hard to get but it's a nice challenge. Game is hard but seems fair, really nice!
It took me a while to understand that you make money from harvesting your towers instead of killing the enemies, but once I had it I was able to make some progress (it also perfectly fits the theme ;D). It is really punishing though. I had to figure things out by trial and error as it was unclear to me what the different "towers" would do (like the paprika having a waveclear pattern). But I really like your take on the tower defense as it forces you to think differently. Nice job!
My first tuber defense game :D (I couldn't help myself). Love the concept and the way you incorporated harvesting as a necessary mechanic. As others have mentioned, this is challenging!
We have a tendency to click on the icons to switch towers but that errors out the game, but overall good game and very good incorporation on the theme
Good job with the premise. To me the best part of the game is the visuals, and the sounds were appropriate too. As with some of the other players, I had difficulties figuring out the game mechanics, so make sure your instructions are well-defined. Thanks for the experience <3
I love the twist of having to uproot your defenses at strategic times to progress! The game was definitely challenging, but still fun. One thing that tripped me up right away was that towers cost money - for some reason, it seemed like the numbers were how many I had to use, so I was confused when I could only plant one. Other than that, I didn't really run into issues, well done!
Great game! The death sound was pretty harsh though lol :joy: I was playing on the web version, maybe it was bugged but it sounded like a million orchestra hits.
I think a bit more explanation as to how to play and what each crop does would be nice, but overall I really liked it! Althought I didnt win once lol
This game is pretty tough, but well done! The sound effects make it feel snappy, and once I realized how to play the harvesting and placement was a really neat twist on a tower defense purchasing system. Nice entry!
I really like the idea, the farming sim tile planting works well with choosing tower locations! The plant projectile specifics aren't really clear until planted and i still have no idea what plant 5 does... but once you get into the groove of it it's fun to watch corn be a mounted turret :)
very neat game, I liked the juggling i had to do between planting for defense and harvesting for income. quite hard. I wish the grid was a bit clearer and maybe bigger to make that easier, but it's a jam after all. well done!
I really like the twist on the TD genre where you pick your towers to get more money. (I think this could be a really fun game with some tweaks) I will say at first this was not clear to me.
I think initially the amount of money is far too low and the bugs come far too fast. I was not able to even kill 1 bug so I think the starting money has to be higher or the waves have to ramp up slower at first.
I tried 3 times and was never able to survive or kill a bug.
Great job on getting a TD game complete though. Lots of space for improvements and mechanics that could turn this game into something very unique and fun. Keep at it!
Thank you all for your kind feedback!
I agree that the game is very hard in its current state, especially at the beginning. 5$ starting money is a bit too harsh, it is really difficult to survive the first few waves without any HP loss.
We sadly didn't have time to include descriptions for each plant, but I think it is interesting to place a new plant and wait to see what it will do. Or at least it would be interesting, if it is clearly visible what's happening, which the last two types definitely fail to do. For anyone still wondering: - the broccoli boosts adjacent plants, either increasing fire rate or damage - the watermelon rolls in a line through the map, dealing massive damage but it vanishes afterwards
Thank you again for your comments!
Took me a couple tries to figure out how to be able to survive and make some money at the start was finally able to beat the game though! Pretty fun little tower defense game and I enjoyed the mechanic of harvesting your own weapons to earn money. A little to tough right at the start but great job getting something done and in for the jam I had fun!
Oh my god those bees! How do they die! I really really liked the concept of the game. The sfx was a bit harsh so it kept me from wanting to retry too many times, but the gameplay was really great. I loved the differences in the weapons and the strategy in uprooting. The watermelon was fantastic too! Great job!
Had a really good time trying to figure this game out -very challenging! :D
Getting used to picking plants was pretty much the opposite of what I'm used to with tower defense games as usually you don't want to remove units -even once I knew what to do it was still hard to think of removing units as soon as they were active -having to use them for money makes for a pretty brilliant balancing act!
Really cool, unique approach to tower defense and great use of the theme! -had a lot of fun playing this! Awesome work!
Fun tower defense. After trying to get past the starting couple waves a few times managed to make it through with just a strategy of spamming pumpkins as they have a net gain of +3 and are cheap at 7 gold. The main mechanic of needing to uproot your defenses for your economy works really well. If you continue this a bit post jam one thing is it would be nice to be able to drag to mass remove defenses as it can get a bit annoying to need to rapid tap over and over and its easy to softlock yourself at the start of the game by accidentally harvesting a plant early. Visuals complimented the game nicely and I managed to make it all the way to the end
Loved the need to remove your towers to progress, especially as I'm always the sort of screw up my placements.
I sucked at this game for my first couple of runs, not being able to kill more than two bugs with a selection of the first three plants. Gave up on that, spam farmed pumpkins, and they carried me through the entire thing. Some more balancing is needed with these, I think, as well as the starting gold. Even my pumpkin hell let a couple through at the start.
A selection border on your currently selected seed type would be great.
Haven't seen the tower defence game this LD yet, so, nice one! Having to harvest your "towers" is an interesting twist. However, it is too challenging at the beginning - player should start with a little bit more money. It would also make it easier if the player could select plant by clicking on its icon - I accidentally placed it behind the UI, despite your warnings. Also, the game over sound scared the hell out of me. Otherwise, this is a very nice game and definitely replayable several times. :)
Found it challenging to get the hang of at the start, but I love the interpretation of harvest as tower defense and specifically the mechanic of harvesting plants!
Love it, great concept! The post processing effects are also a nice graphical touch!
nice concept!! was not expected these type of concepts...graphics looks awesome by the way you polished the game ...good work!!
I felt like the start is a little rough and I had to restart a few times why don't you get going it's really fun
