LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Sweet Nightmare by almost 2022-10-15T10:02:43Z

I adore the concept, and love the art. Definitely something I'd happily put more time into.

In future, it would be nice to have some way to reduce the learning burden with some of the modes - I played it a few times, and there's still some I'm not sure what they do. A visual or audio theme associated with each would be a possibility?

Super Garden Lord by poboy 2022-10-15T10:20:29Z

I should have listened to the warning the art style was clearly trying to tell me.

This game is chaos. Why are there fish in the plants? Why does killing the weeds induce 20 second long earthquakes? No idea! Still had fun.

It took me a while to figure out which plants I was and was not attacking (the weeds being the least planty looking thing out of three options), that the explosions and being tossed across the screen were something I want to happen, and that the weed counter was a lose scenario, and not a whack counter.

Mwnu title and music are a bit discordant, though the music style does up the tension and chaos a bit.

LD52 — Harvest

Cereales Trading Simulator 2023 by sebbernery 2023-01-26T10:18:31Z

Fun game. Thought I had a hold on it, until the prices really started fluctuating, and wheat went from $4 to $34 in the space of a few months. Made me pay attention and think all the entire time.

The tutorial was clear and concise.

I noticed the death counter at the start, figured it was something that was never added, and then bam, the quiet consequences of my own actions.

Cat Farm Panic ! by Yvanor 2023-01-26T10:03:40Z

These cats are needier than my actual ones!

Really liked the fetching supplies mechanic, as well as how easy it was to throw out old stuff. I hit some hitbox issues sometimes with the refilling of the food.

Space Harvest by lfreinoso 2023-01-17T23:28:47Z

Really like the colour palette. It is different, but also made it really easy to distinguish what things were and keep track of them at a glance.

My first run didn't go well, as I didn't realise I needed to abduct them, and I was definitely too heavy on the controls, but once I got those downpat, it was fun.

Mermaid Treasure Quest by gamerjenn 2023-01-18T04:39:11Z

Music is chill, and I really like the artwork and the colour palette. The chests being the same single-toned colour like the other objects would feel that little bit more cohesive.

It played fine, and I didn't run into any issues.

Harvest Day by Linus Lindberg 2023-01-18T05:42:47Z

The physics and gameplay itself felt pretty balanced. The difficulty increased at a good pace, whilst never leaving you feel like you're stuck.

I wish the "next level" button took you straight to the next level. The length of the level selection animation is fine for the first load in, but after that, you just want to be able to keep playing the next level ASAP, and it was far too long for that.

I also encountered a bug in level 3 where the game was loading me in going backwards towards going off the cliff.

Veggie Tamer by clyde 2023-01-16T23:42:53Z

The page and layout got me for a sec at the start, but I love the dedication to your theming.

Worked pretty well. Only technical issue I came across was the sound seizing if I clicked off the tab. Controls were simple, and I'm fairly sure I caught them all.

My one preferential issue was that the pitch of the second, overlaying, sound track was driving me a bit nutty by the end.

Veggies store by chispaLBC 2023-01-17T23:11:59Z

Cute game. The art is fun, and the music goes well. I like how both ramp up as the speed does.

I did have some difficulty grabbing some items once the speed amped up. I feel like it wanted me to hold the mouse button down a tad longer than the very quick click and move that I was feeling I needed to do at that point, perhaps?

Harvest Survivors by pmarincak 2023-01-26T09:35:05Z

Took me a while to pick up what was happening. The controls listed for UI interaction in addition to the seed packet drop and seed upgrade appearing on the bottom bar had me trying to figure out how to plant things, until I read the comments that there's no planting.

Would have liked some way ingame to know what the various upgrades did, and maybe a bit of balancing on which appear. I didn't run into the move speed boots for any of my games, and my poor feet are beat up from all of this running!

The art is gorgeous. Outside of the couple of issues I had, it was fun, and a solid foundation.

Barn Busters by UnitedFailures 2023-01-17T03:37:51Z

What chaos! During the first round, I thought that the currency gain was far too high, but for a short burst game, the satisfaction I got from being able to cover the entire map for round 2 brought me a lot of joy.

I did run into a bug where the 5 remaining animals refused to enter the field for Round 2, but I can't blame them, given the hellscape it was. One of the animals did manage to get whacked by a trap before the round even started, so not sure if that caused it to be confused.

Wheat melody by EasyLuckyGem 2023-01-18T05:20:55Z

Art is gorgeous, appreciate that the music style matches the art. Liked how the music and time of day changed with each level.

I do wish the rhythm of the music matched when you needed to hit the notes, and some of the music seems to not be seamless in its repeating, which is a pity given the levels are fairly short.

Chewberries by Flightless 2023-01-26T10:47:50Z

Agree with the first level being a bit slow and unforgiving, but I picked it up in the end.

Music was real chill, and appreciated I was trying to figure out how to do things properly.

Vegan Vince by Sipfindel 2023-01-18T00:46:18Z

Really liked the idea of the terrain building as you killed things, and it opens up options in the future for things like aiming to build the terrain up to collect upgrades or some such! Definitely an idea with a load of potential.

As others have mentioned, hitboxes felt a little tight. A background would really cement the art style.

Beat up enough veggies that I think I need my own tinfoil hat now.

Goblindentured Harvester by Magnanix 2023-01-16T23:59:15Z

Liked the idea, but there's definitely some things that need working out and balancing.

I found out pretty quickly that the minigame does not need you to hit in the green, just spamming E as soon as it opens lets you clear the loot at high speed - which pretty much nullified the debt in a few days. This bug became useful a few times, as treasures near the top of the screen mean you cannot see the minigame bar.

I also didn't find the traps a threat, as the telegraphing of them from the start meant I was playing proactively around them, not reactively. Having the shadow for the rocks only appear very briefly before they fall could mitigate this. Some of the spike traps spawn right against doors, so I was taking hits as soon as I entered a room.

It has potential, but needs a balance.

Maylee's Recipe by Sikowny 2023-01-26T11:07:53Z

Sweet little game. the colour palette and music matched the mood well. I didn't mind the controls, and I feel like it would fit very well as a minigame or system in a larger game.

Tune-uki: Human Harvest by CasualNothing 2023-01-17T04:48:23Z

Great choice in music for this. It was really easy to get into the rhythm with.

Thanks for making one of the clothing pieces someone's face.

Plantome by Danyclockworker 2023-01-16T23:24:31Z

A very sweet little game. I found it chill, even with the pressure of the watering can refilling timer which cut it a bit close a few times. Loved the setting, the softness of the day-night cycle, and the music/pixel art nostalgia.

The stars did seem to be a bit too RNG, as they didn't telegraph enough where they were going to fall, or I lacked the movespeed to get to them. I did not know what they did until I can back and read the comments, however.

Necromancer's Garden by animawish 2023-01-18T00:12:26Z

Always enjoy a deck builder, and this one was no exception. There's definitely a bit of a learning and strategy curve, but I feel that's a hallmark of the genre.

I did have a couple of issues, though they are fairly minor. - The sound on the planting screen specifically was too busy for me. I think it was just too many sounds layered all at a fairly similar volume. Other screens where fine, though. - A lot of the font on the cards was fuzzy, even in the small window.

Reap Its Future by PassbyKamenRider 2023-01-18T02:25:51Z

Very sweet. I like that it encouraged me to actually read all the answers, and at one point, I felt my tone and choice in answers changing. First time it got all rebellious on me, it got a decent "Excuse me, young plant!" response.

- Agree with all the rest that the text needs speeding up, and a click to autocomplete feature.

- Ended up finding the happiness scissors by clicking everything, as I didn't associate them with happiness.

DaLetterFarm(Word-game) by Wendy222 2023-01-26T09:47:32Z

Loved the concept, and the pre-planning the day-night cycle created.

My biggest trouble with the pacing of it. I felt like I was spending way more time just waiting for things to grow than I was making words. I may need to be more liberal with the shovel, but I feel a combo of that, plus a faster growth so I can cycle through plants more might help best with that?

Would like the option to undo what letters I've already harvested, or perhaps have a very small inventory I can swap some in and out of.

Protect the Garden by Buni 2023-01-17T03:58:20Z

Loved the need to remove your towers to progress, especially as I'm always the sort of screw up my placements.

I sucked at this game for my first couple of runs, not being able to kill more than two bugs with a selection of the first three plants. Gave up on that, spam farmed pumpkins, and they carried me through the entire thing. Some more balancing is needed with these, I think, as well as the starting gold. Even my pumpkin hell let a couple through at the start.

A selection border on your currently selected seed type would be great.

Cave Flowers by Tk_Dev 2023-01-18T05:14:30Z

Prefacing with I am horrendous at this game, and platformers in general.

That said, the graphics are clean, the tutorial was appreciated, and after I spent far too long figuring out how the double jump worked, felt pretty accomplished.

Bee Happy Harvest by kir Pow 2023-01-17T02:04:37Z

Liked the movement slowing down with the increase in carrying weight, even if the pollen RNG left me a sitting duck a few times. Perhaps having the hive out of the way of the bottom tractor, so I don't get murdered in my home. It gives a small chance to finish a drop off, then access your next move?

The small thud when you get run over, the music stopping, but the tractors still chugging away gave me a macabre laugh.

Garden of Eldritch Delights by autumnmnmn 2023-01-17T05:00:12Z

I adored this one. It took us a couple of runs to get down exactly what was happening, but once we discovered the ability to shove each other off the edges, or make each other drop items, the real chaos began.

The visuals are amazing, the setting is amazing, the sound is amazing, the character designs are amazing. The sheep, who always spent more time hindering my partner than me, is amazing.

The only things I would comment on is I feel the zoom is a bit too far out, and I'd like to ability to reassign keys to make it a little bi less crammed, or to move my invent scrolling key far, farrrr away, as hitting that instead of using my current item screwed me up a bunch.

Would love to see a full 4 player version, even if it isn't one system/couch game at that time.

Unhappy Beaver by Zidoolan 2023-01-18T04:07:29Z

Definitely would have been easier with mouse/keyboard with a point and shoot rotation on the mouse, but worked well enough on a controller.

Mob voices were great, do wish they were limited to one at a time, though, so I could understand them all. But I accept your apology, Canadian salmon.

I had trouble keeping track of when I took hits. I always died from my health, with a fairly healthy dam, and it always felt a bit out of nowhere when I hit the gameover screen.

Overall, needed a bit more polish, but a good foundation.

Fruit Valley by SupBanana 2023-01-17T23:46:35Z

Didn't mind the lack of fall damage, as I am atrocious at platformers. Liked the defense aspect. Swapping quickly between the two gameplay styles was satisfying.

I did have a couple of issues. - I ended up getting stuck on a map. One side was the cliff I had dropped in via, and I could not jump up and out the other. - The big, round :( face monsters weren't able to be killed in time. Sometimes three of them spawned, plus other bugs, and a plant did not have a chance. Needs some rebalancing here.

The Harvester by Bas van den Berg 2023-01-17T04:34:37Z

Congrats on your first entry! Almost got through it all in my first run.

I also had a problem with the angels sticking to me like glue, and in my second run, the RNG decreed that no one should be allowed to die without an angel appearing. Maybe some system to put the gained souls into stats, like speed. The invun is nice, but the cooldown isn't always enough when they're glued to you.

Visuals communicated really clearly what everything was.

Enough is a feast! by Devin Bulut 2023-01-18T05:30:20Z

Feels pretty complete, and fun! Art, music and tone fit well, and everything is clear. I'm pretty sure I did a couple of levels very much not in the way they were intended, but oh well. Still enjoyed it.

Another Veggie Harvester Unit by validbit 2023-01-18T01:10:51Z

Didn't mind the chaos of the controls, though I did keep running into an issue where if I wasn't also going forwards or backwards, the left/right turning would lock up, and I would not be able to turn in any direction until I went forwards or backwards a bit again.

My game crashed at 30 veggies collected. I don't know if this was a random thing, or a victory scenario without an end screen.

Appreciated the option to add more time, so I could figure out what I was doing, and chill in the airtime filled chaos.

School Run by Violetrose 2023-01-27T12:34:56Z

I can't rate your game, there's no links to try it.
