Because of fast flower respawn, it's easy enough :) I stopped at 51.. Anyway, the gameplay works fine.

I like the movement slowing as you carry more and more. It adds that little bit of strategy where it's best to pick your first flower up far away, then pick up more on your way back to be most efficient.
Liked the movement slowing down with the increase in carrying weight, even if the pollen RNG left me a sitting duck a few times. Perhaps having the hive out of the way of the bottom tractor, so I don't get murdered in my home. It gives a small chance to finish a drop off, then access your next move?
The small thud when you get run over, the music stopping, but the tractors still chugging away gave me a macabre laugh.
Thanks @veelivar having a home safe zone makes a lot of sense. Appreciate the suggestion!
Cool little entry. Camping at home was the safest strategy. I was just picking up the closest flower and coming back. Bee getting slower with multiple pick ups felt so slow that I avoided picking up more flowers altogether.
Surprisingly fun for how few game-elements there are :-)
I very much also agree with every point in the above comments.
In addition, I found that sometimes, a flower would spawn right underneath my bee. Perhaps that also explains why I went slower than I thought I should when only picking up a few.
Maybe the 'problem' of people playing it safe (me included) could be dealt with by a different kind of flower or other benefit in the top row(s)?
I think something is wrong with my instalation of the game ? LD_52_BeeHarvest.png
Although it is a simple game, it is effective at entertaining.
Thanks @remco appreciate the feedback. Think if the player hits the trigger more than once it might be respawning more than one flower. I will consider doing different logic or checking if the spawn zone is free first next time. Also love the idea of having alternative incentives to go far away from the hive. Cheers for that!
it's very easy to get a lot of flowers. it could be interesting to add more challenge once you get to a certain point
Fun little game! It is quite easy to avoid the tractors if you make sure you never carry more than two flowers, though. Like suggested before, it would be nice to have the tractors speed up or less flowers spawn as the game progresses.
Tractors are my fate.
Nice little game! The "the more you carry the slower you are" mechanic was a clever twist, forcing you to decide just how much to push your luck and skill against the coming tractors. However, having a second hive on the other side or having your hive move around would prove to be even more interesting I think, as I was pretty comfy just staying near the only hive and could keep going forever without venturing too much outside of my "safe zone".
The biggest issue I had with it was that sometimes flowers would spawn on top of already existing ones and so you would go suddenly from 0 to 4 and be ultra-slow with no way of predicting it. Can be a cool mechanic but it needs a way to show how many flowers there actually are in one spot to the player.
This game was surprisingly fun, with great music and graphics. Due to my greed finally died in 53, I like the way he will slow down because of the nectar picking more, I hope to add more flowers. Looking forward to the subsequent updates!
There might be a problem with your embedded version?! Make sure that you do not click on your project folder to archive it but rather selecting all the files within and then archive those... If you extract the zip your index.html has to be right there and not hidden inside another directory ;) Screenshot 2023-01-21 at 11.53.11.png
Fun frogger-style collecting game! The flow of the game was pretty good - tho collecting more from one flower was a bit harder to take into account. Would have liked a few goals/levels to get the sense of achievement. Liked the audio as well!
A very sweet and fun little game. Love the visuals and the music. The movement felt a bit too slow when it was slowest, but okay I get the idea. Overall a good little jam game. Well done.

This was my first game jam/ first game I've made that didn't involve watching a youtube tutorial and your kind comments have really boosted my confidence. Had a play around trying to implement some of your suggestions and learnt a lot
Much appreciated!
A simple and fun little game! I liked the idea of getting heavier more than actually playing like this, as being super slow didn't feel so great :D This mechanic made it just not really viable to go for flowers further away. Also, the flowers respawned very quickly. Sometimes this happened just beneath the player, which unwillingly increased the weight. And even though I said I didn't really like the heavy feeling too much, these moments were some of the best, because they come as a surprise and kinda mess up the players plans, which is great :) I think it could be more fun if you just increased the numbers a bit, let the player carry more and decelerate less quickly. PS: Really liked the happy music!
Very charming game, I love how it kind of teaches how real bees operate when foraging for pollen. Pour one out for all the bees munched by tractors every year :bee:
The way the music stops dead the instant you die, but leaves the rumbling sound of the tractors... very effective. Felt very cool.
This was a happy fun game, but I felt like there was a tension: the slowness made the game-feel less fun so I don't really want to pick up more flowers. Sure, the game tries to encourage me to risk it because I score more, but there's not a time limit or anything to force me, so I can always just go one flower at a time. So this is a cool core, but I wonder if there's a knot in the middle of the idea, and what you could experiment to untie it and incentivize the player to take more risks.
Cool entry that made me think and feel! Nice job.
