@xbolinger3 try now!
Is there more to unlock after the first 2 buildings? I felt like I built myself into a corner and I wasn't sure what to do next. I really liked the music, the graphics, and the vibration effect when my buildings got hit!
Overall well made! Personally, I didn't really track what all what was happening with the numbers. Not sure what the "+" and "x1" were doing. Only thing I really got were pieces farther down the list made number go up faster which meant I could buy more. I would maybe recommend using smaller numbers for this process. Might be easier to parse? Number goes up 1 every x seconds or something
The graphics, controls, and audio were slick. Enjoyed my time playing. Nice work!
@jason-shapiro just turn the mouse wheel which is further down @derek-glennon If you reset the game with the button in the bottom right corner you get a multiplier that makes it easier to earn more resources faster
Oh, I get it now. Kinda like resetting your run on an idle game. Thanks, that helped! The idea of having placement space with your idle great is great - I'm not sure I've seen it before? And the idea of having monsters attack your city but you have no way of attacking them is cool too - I liked putting cheap towers in their path, but eventually they seemed to plough right through them. I think they got more health as the game went on, and I'm not sure if different buildings had different amounts they damaged the aliens. It would be cool if shapes gave benefits of +income or +damage, and those could be higher balanced by how hard the shape was to place. Really cool overall!
Took me some time to fully understand. Very interesting concept. Looks like these mechanics may take quite a time to master. Also, great art!
I missed being able to select the pieces using the keyboard and use the mouse only to place them.
Good job! =)
Good Job with the mechanics and art.
This was really cool, the art style is really appealing and the music nice.
This is my kinda game. I could prestige forever!
Fun game, however, I don't particulary like the enemy mechanic. Is game beatable on 1x multiplier? Perhaps a quick placement sound effect would have been awesome. All in all fun game. Game did crash halfway through, here the error for you:
############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Step Event0 for object objMaquina:
Variable objMaquina.hp(100003, -2147483648) not set before reading it. at gml_Object_objMaquina_Step_0 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Object_objMaquina_Step_0 (line -1)
It took a little while for me to "get" it but this was pretty fun! I like the concept of space management, I think it'd be really cool if the buildings had different roles and you had to balance both defending against enemies and generating resources.
I got to x10!
I can very easily see this progresing with different asteroid shapes and new buildings to place. It would be great to have something to defend against the invaders as well.
Actually the game doesn't start at all anymore for me. See above error log.
@kujoen try delete this folder C:\Users\ {your user}\AppData\Local\Asteroid_Base
No way it restarted after the rockets left xD Great game, very addicting!
The art looks fantastic! The music is pretty nice too but the game could've had more game juice like SFX
a fun and atmospheric game,liked the way you can arrange puzzles
For some reason, my antivirus deleted the .exe of the game in my notebook. Will try again on home PC later. Please like this comment to remember me! I'll edit this comment when play the game.
@ldkuba Depois de recomeçar o jogo vai pro New game plus e os preços mudam ;)
Nice art! Wish there were some controls listed maybe in this page directly? I only got the first 2 buildings and couldn't figure out how to upgrade or get the new ones. Also once you select a building you can't un-select it so you get stuck if it doesn't seem to fit.
Unique idea and with more time I'm sure these issues could be easily resolved - great work!
@derek-glennon Thanks! In the rush I put it in frames but in the final version it will be per second. @jason-shapiro Yes, more expensive buildings generate more resources @igor-kingamer Nice suggestion 😁 @vfrabasil Thanks! Você é brasileiro? Eu também, hehe @maximevincent There are 3 more songs and sound effects, but we prioritized releasing a polished game and there wasn't time @kujoen Work? @idkuba Has a new game plus 😉 @iliusha Thanks 😁 @eliyud Strange 🤔 @delauraen The mouse wheel shows the other buildings, and I liked the idea of adding upgrades, huh
I'm sorry for the delay in responding, I'm in a rush here to evaluate the games, I evaluated everyone who commented here and my antivirus didn't complain, hehe
Thanks to the comments I decided to add some additional information to the post, thank you everyone!
Controls:
- Mouse Left Button: Select; - Mouse Wheel: Move Interface; - Mouse Right Button: Sell/Cancel.
How to play: - Just place the pieces on the board wherever there is space; - Your objective is to make the rocket and escape from the asteroid;
Tips: - More expensive parts yield more resources; - Resetting will give you a multiplier, don’t be afraid to use it, it will make the game much faster; - The more rockets the faster they will take off; - After finishing the game, a new game plus will start with the most expensive pieces. Consider the initial one the easy one, the new game+ the medium one and the new game++ the difficult one.
Breaking News: - Thanks to your great reception, there will soon be a more complete version on Steam!
Known bugs: - If the game chrash, try delete this folder C:\Users\ {your user} \AppData\Local\Asteroid_Base.
This game looks really good! And the main music slaps! It took a while for me to get a hang of the gameplay and swapping between what buildings to place down. I think this would really be great with some sort of combination mechanic where buildings next to each other can give bonuses so that you even more have to think about where to put things in relation to each other. Over all fun and addictive game loop that nailed the theme!
@glowt Thanks! Great suggestion 🤔
Very nice soundtrack. The art looks quite good also. Had hard time figuring out the + and x numbers and surviving the wave after some time, the enemies keep pushing hard and destroying all my buildings
I really like the style and concept of this game! I got the rocket pretty quickly because the enemies were gaining power very slowly after prestige, I didn't even notice if they destroyed anything after I got the x5 multiplier, anyway the player needs to destroy a lot more. Overall very cool!
Very interesting idea, I really like it. I think i'd prefer if I didn't have to search for blocks with the mouse wheel, and they were just all visible at once. I think more audio-visual feedback would be great, like making the reset button say "click me I'm ready", or making new blocks pop up and look shiny. Great job overall!
E ai meu consagrado! Nice concept! I had a hard time understanding what I had to do (I still didn't fully grasp it) but the tower defense inventory tetris take is cool! Nice graphics too! Good job!
asteroid big numbers.png
I think I like this one
Little bit confusing to figure out how to play it effectively, but once I figured it out? Not bad! Graphics are nice.
LOVELY graphics. Extremely obtuse and eye-melting - I love it!
I like that! And i like the pixel art. :-) And it works themewise very good. I had constantly the feeling of having too limited space and i am motivated to try again more. So these are good feelings and they come from a game well done! Your modifier at every restart is very good, motivational-wise, too. :)
Even though i judge i was quite bad in it, i might have an idea how to get better and more efficient. So this is something i like with your game, too, as it kinda teaches you to use better strategies.
I really enjoyed this, a lot of other submissions are tetris based but this one was a different style of it since you had to make what i'm guessing is money to buy other blocks instead of being infinitely given the blocks to play with, it's a good mix of tetris and a tycoon game which is a really nice touch, the audio and visuals are really nice and easy on the eyes, the one thing I would suggest is a way to attack the aliens that hurt your blocks, this could be a big block that takes up a lot of space and doesn't give you any money at all but shoots the aliens and all the aliens target that one first. Other than that this was really enjoyable!
Very well made game with awesome visuals and very pleasant and nice to listen music, which is not often the case with jam games. Gameplay was simple enough to get started rapidly, even though I think it should be more obvious that you can scroll in the left side and see more buildings; at first, I thought there were only two buildings. Otherwise very good job and I think making a full feature game out of this is actually a very good idea, go ahead with it!
There is always some beauty in simple things. Take a moment to figure out how to play, and i must admit that at first I have underestimate it a bit, but after figuring out how to play in more effectively it is a nice idle game. If I could turn of the music i would even leave it running on the background while trying out other submissions
I liked the premise, but was confused with what each block(s) did?
It wasn't very clear, maybe a little popup before hand to tell you what each thing is, or titles and descriptions for each object?
Beautiful graphics, once you get the whole incremental+tetris thing it becomes more fun!
very nice idle game,Love this one so much ,I spent a lot time on this one .wish to more content to play ,,ps :game art is perfect
Good idea ! Very good concept for this theme It's cool, beautifully done, and the graphics are bomb :D !
