Nice art and sounds. Sometimes the card disappears from your hand after receiving it, I don't understand why. Good job)

Congratulations for nice entry... I love the vibe of these hand-drawn art and the sounds were nicely matching your mysterious theme... The concept is super -- how to make sound signals and turn them to attach/defend and how can you stack them/combine type of signals... Probably a jam is too short to be able to fully exploit this topic - i saw more potential on driving combinations and make sounds really also change. What i mean like attack cards give more metal sounds, deeper, fast rythms, whereas heal cards are more high pitched etc.. but some basic sound cards would not be good basis for healing (like heal would only filter high frequencies and if you have a bass sound, it wont work)... Anyhow super nice concept and great entry. Congratulations!!!
Very nice art
The art looks great! I love how you get closer to the lighthouse each time. The game is fun to play too. Great job!
Probably the longest I've ever played an LD entry. Fantastic work all round. Loved the hand drawn art style and colour choice.
Love the vibes here, and the gameplay once I finally started to get my head around it. Curious to see how/if it could be expanded further! Will say the "save signal for last turn" felt a little less useful than it could've been, as far as I can tell the "do nothing" signal you start each turn with means you can't directly add onto it... but wait, I guess +2 All still works, there's layers to this already!
I wanted to look how much more polish you could give to this game if it was made for jam and not compo. Good entry!
I am usually not a fan of card games, but this one was pretty fun and easy to understand, so, well done on that front! Artstyle has a nice feel to it, and I like the slight fade effect when you stack multiple signals on top of each other, it's a nice touch. Animations in general are bouncy and feel good. Tiny thing that came to my mind: background behind the letters wanted me to click on them, as they kinda look like when you accidentally highlight text on the page and you have to click on it in order to un-highlight it, but it's probably just massive lack of sleep talking out of me, so, ignore that.
Hello from XK discord!
I'm not very good at deckbuilding games, but I really liked this one specifically. Great visual style and lots of potential for improvement!
I liked the game. It was fun but not enough attack cards.
The game is cool I only got the hang of how to stack waves on my second try. When you use the multiplier on picking up cards, it feels great. The visuals worked for me and sound. Like.
I really like the art style and the atmosphere that the game conveys!
Absolute Cinema gameplay! I love gameplay that's similar to Noita or other games with this kind of build. I would REALLY like an update for this game. So far, this is the best game I've rated on Ludum Darephoto_5418348247933196846_y.jpg
As a compo game - my respect for pulling this off. The graphics are a bit messy and make it hard to focus on what is going on.
That's a really interesting idea for a card game. I'd want to see more content, but otherwise I enjoyed playing it.
Man, really good stuff, love playing card games, so having this to play was peak. Art work is very nice, like the boss at the end, especially with it having a second phase. Very impressive for getting this done in 48 hours. Good work :D
So very cool, loved the vibe, and the strategy was actually great once I understood the idea of changing the previous signal vs creating a new one.
Really cool entry with a unique hand-drawn art style and great atmosphere. The signal-stacking mechanic is a clever twist on deckbuilders, and it feels satisfying once you get the hang of the combinations. A few technical hiccups with cards disappearing and some UI clutter, but otherwise a very solid, addictive experience that I'd love to see expanded.
Very fun to build combos here.
Great idea and worthy implementation. Played it longer than the rest of the projects. Very good card interaction mechanics, creating a variety of gameplay.
all in! [pokerbenton.gif](///raw/d3b/34/z/72076.gif)
Bruh, what was that thing in the water?
Overall good game, I just wish there were more attack variations
Didn't like the discard enemies, though it's still a fun game
Really well-executed card mechanics — not a lot of elements, but they're meaningful and you genuinely want to figure out how they combo together. Art is also on point, everything in a consistent style. Some vicious nightmare creature ate me right at the end, as far as I could tell the lighthouse was right in front of me. I'm not a huge fan of Slay the Spire-likes myself, but even I appreciated this one.
Didn't get it at first, but as soon as I did, I played straight through to the end. Very engaging.
It was fun! There were a few things I didn’t understand, like why the cards disappeared. I would have liked it if the use of multipliers or additions wasn’t limited. It was entertaining!
On of the best theme interpretations
Very interesting game!
I like the idea of moving the beacon forward as visualization of progress. The signal mechanics are beautiful, but I didn't immediately understand where the signal was displayed.
Art and sound are amazing. This game is very strategic and I love it.
Cool card battler! The minimalist visual style is gorgeous.
The simple graphics are really awesome. I really liked the atmosphere they create. The idea of moving closer to the lighthouse to symbolize progress works really well! I love deck-building games, so I was happy to find one — I just didn’t quite understand the purpose or function of the white signals that “do nothing,” since the attack, energy, and heal cards don’t transform those signals but instead add new ones. (Maybe I missed something.) Thanks for this game!
I like the art and general flow of card is good. Nice game!
Very interesting interpretation of the theme! It turned out very atmospheric.
Really cool interpretation of the theme! The art and sound design are spot on. Even with the steep learning curve and a few small UI quirks, I stayed hooked until the end. Great job getting this much polish into a Compo game!
I really liked how we immediately see our target, a lighthouse in the distance, gradually approaching (awesome gameplay solution!!) The underwater anglers look really cute. Smooth wave animations, simple and tasteful! I also really liked the sounds of the sea, the lapping waves, and the lighthouse. But the only thing is: the red light sounds (enemy attacks) are like "bzzzz", and very annoying, as they repeat quite often. You could, for example, make this sound quieter compared to the others. Although I understand it's supposed to be unpleasant, personally, it detracts from the atmosphere for me.
I also did and "almost card" roguelike about a lighthouse, only there you control lighthouse rather than navigating to it.
I love how progress is visible, as other comments noted and love how you can turn signals into other stuff, duplicate it, etc. The combos feel really nice.
Can't also not mention the art - the game looks and feels cool, absolutely love the low framerate animations.
On the constructive side: I constantly felt that I am lacking attack signals, because of that the game felt longer than it probably should be. It's like playing tank class in RPG: you can't kill anyone, but they also can't kill you. However I acknowledge that game balance is incredibly hard and delicate thing, and given the tight timeline you did great job with what you have here.
And a last thing: I wonder who is the player and what kind of signals they send to attack enemies? I wonder if the player is a ship and sending some kind of radiowaves, or are they another monster and attack with screams so that other enemies run away? I feel if you give this a spin some of the aesthetics might change depending on the narrative, deepening the atmosphere for the game.
I like the flow and progression, nicely animated too!
