This kind of game is what LD is all about

gamescodedogs 2025-04-07 09:41

I have no idea why but looking at the preview image and the screenshots I want to play it immediately. Awesome work, please keep going :)

immortalfox 2025-04-07 10:28

Pixel art would never become old. Such simple and awesome style. In that game yes, not ideal, but. Probably just a bit improvement and it will be outstanding.

liquid 2025-04-08 06:41

I added an itch.io link with the HTML build

zjuwindking 2025-04-08 07:25

excellent! I feel like 'star valley' now.Perhaps you should compress all the contents inside instead of putting them in one folder and compressing them again~

Game feels relaxing, nice try

unreference 2025-04-08 07:41

Looks good and has impressive narrative depth for the window. Some elements are a bit strange, like the jarring transition to "evening". I find it difficult to make anything really happen in narrative games on such a tight deadline, but the setup and payoff is definitely there. Nice work!

basekeet 2025-04-08 07:48

Very relaxing game. It was a pleasure to explore the world — I really enjoyed it!

no-firing 2025-04-08 07:49

Very cool art style! 5/5! But, I touch something strange with graphics Screenshot 2025-04-08 124656.png

Absolutely gorgeous artstyle you got there, it looks simply wonderful! Great writing and atmosphere as well. The only tiny thing I noticed was that you can click on the empty spaces in the dialog and it will highlight the space, but that's really nothing. I almost got stuck in shed, but managed to unstuck myself. Otherwise I had a lot of fun with this one. One of the most polished entries for sure, loved it!

threegoldeneggs 2025-04-08 18:37

I was really excited to see a top down pixel art game! I'm really enjoying exploring the world and talking to the characters. I'm stuck in the evening, don't see any new dialog options to get to the next day and the shack is still locked, any pointers?

leorean 2025-04-09 05:23

Nice pixel art work!

liquid 2025-04-09 08:37

Thanks everyone for the great feedback!

@unreference Yeah, I noticed during some last-minute playtesting that part could’ve used a bit more setup.

@no-firing That’s interesting. I don’t have much experience with Godot or HTML games, so if anyone knows what might be causing that, I’d love to hear it.

@threegoldeneggs You can interact with the door to your room inside the inn!

volkolak 2025-04-09 13:55

I liked the attention to detail, animated flowers, plants and water. The dialogues are interesting, I would like to see more interactive interactions. Overall, it turned out cool!

trogdor-20x6 2025-04-10 23:51

Is there an alternate ending? I definitely wanted to summon Cthulhu.

I like the overall aesthetic, and that's a lot of tile art to make in two days!

Some tiny improvements: Could highlight unread dialog in some fashion. Could also allow you to skip the text blurbs/dialog after some elapsed amount of time.

Please, do something with resolution, pal. I have 1366*768 and it is unplayable =\ Zoom out in browser don't work too.

liquid 2025-04-11 19:34

@trogdor-20x6 - There is only one ending. I had originally planned a more dramatic showdown at dawn with two or three different outcomes, but had to cut that due to time constraints (and didn’t have time for a cool awakening splash screen either).

@xpoho - Thanks for the heads-up! I’ve changed the resolution on Itch.io to something smaller. Let me know if it works for you, or if it still needs tweaking.

deadbydeath 2025-04-12 05:38

Nice game, I played through itc.io and felt like the screen was too small, which led in the night to not be able to see most of the things on the screen! Anyway, very nice idea and story was very nice! Nice entry!

xpoho 2025-04-12 09:21

Thank you, me friend! Now it is working! I played in your game and it was good! Little sad that it is unfinished, so can't wait for the next part!

Good game! ^_^

euler-moises 2025-04-13 03:42

Very well done game. I really love pixel art. I was curious to know what happens after the bell rings. Everything went dark and nothing happened. Was that really it?

Congratulations on the work.

silkworm-sweatshop 2025-04-13 21:19

Really nice pixel art, the little area you built feels really polished! It's really hard of course to do a full narrative with the time constraints but I like what's there when it comes to the writing. It feels like it has some character and not so "stock". It builds up some intrigue as well so it could always be fleshed out with more time.

liquid 2025-04-14 06:59

@euler-moises - In classic Horror fashion, the ending is open. The final lines are: "But the sound follows you. In dreams. In the silence between. The bell never rang. But something did." Then, the screen fades to black. The game ends there.

Wow, the art design is really top notch, probably the best I've seen from the all games I played. The animations, the sprites, the color pallete - it really brings this alpine village to life. I also really liked the music, and the dialog system was really fantastic. I was intrugied about the story, and it's a real nice interpatation of the depth theme - without really showing you what's down there, which can be effective (although it would be really cool to see your underwater pixel art)

The game just ends I think? after your ring the bell. I guess I can nitpick about this and a few other things - like the night being too dark, and maybe the dialogue gets a little repetitive. But mainly, I just wanted more of the story to unfold - I didn't mind there was no gameplay beyond dialog actually

Really impressive work, graphics and otherwise

quadtree 2025-04-20 17:27

Really nice graphics, especially for the compo. If there's one thing I'd change, it'd be to make the night scenes a little less dark. Perhaps the character should have had a lantern or something? Either way, nice job!
