LD54 — Limited Space

The Signal by OddballDave 2023-10-04T18:11:48Z

Really cool graphics and audio cues create quite a mood. These controls are often used in FPS games on Scratch. where mouse input is limited and for me they embrace the retro feel. I got confused multiple times why I couldn't interact with objects, when I was too far. I think that they should have a longer range. The laser puzzle was really fun, but it seems that you run out of ideas for the last level. Puzzles where you need to 'guess a secret code' remove the entire satisfaction from finishing them. However the game was clearly focused on the plot and it has done the job very well.

You Are Beach Cop Sign by Phobos001 2023-10-05T21:08:38Z

Cool little game, but the controls are really unforgiving. Took a few tries to complete.

The Relic by Furtive Pygmy 2023-10-10T16:08:57Z

It is hard to keep the asteroids away when the ship is turning so slowly. It's also confusing how much HP I have and how much HP the center has.

Ticket to Mars 🎫🚀 by TheJookerful 2023-10-14T13:24:58Z

Very interesting game, wish it had more mechanics.

Indcosmus by milq 2023-10-10T15:44:51Z

Fun game! I loved the pixel art. The gameplay is pretty challenging but fun. The level design of the last level was amazing. It really felt complete. I only wish you could hold to shoot, so I wouldn't need to spam my keyboard...

TOBISHA by aerial 2023-10-10T16:23:00Z

I like the idea. It feels really promising, but unfinished. In my opinion it lacks a story, like everyday events in Papers Please. You could add special renters, with different personalities and quirks impacting the gameplay. The graphics and audio are awesome.

Out of Side by happyglitch 2023-10-02T21:39:35Z

@ace17 You missed half of the game! I should have made it more obvious, but to the left of the level there is a platform similar to the starting one on which you need to land to unlock the next area.

Out of Side by happyglitch 2023-10-10T17:17:24Z

@daniboygg I also encountered a bug like that before, don't know what causes it, but you can get out by holding up until a clean respawn. I should have probably added a short invulnerability when respawning or something like that.

@decadedecaf Thanks for your feedback and well done! But have you tried doing a flip?

Out of Side by happyglitch 2023-10-14T13:17:55Z

@amarokczukay Thanks! The "snow" particles were supposed to be dust and it was actually inspired by Celeste!

Out of Side by happyglitch 2023-10-14T13:19:50Z

@siberpunk01 Thank you for your feedback. There is a timer, only counting up. And I agree with you about the music. Wish I had time to add it in the 48 hours.

Let Me Breathe! by 247gamestudio 2023-10-05T21:20:07Z

I really like this game, fits the theme perfectly. I only wish it was a little easier.

CaveBots by quasilyte 2023-10-05T20:47:09Z

This game is simply impressive. I cannot believe that much content was created in 48 hours. Well done!

Walled In! by Jack728 2023-10-05T20:22:33Z

Really cool game! It would be useful to be able to fire at max speed by holding the button, instead of having to press it every time, especially that the firing rate is quite high. The bullets move slowly, which makes the game confusing at the start, but adds a high skill ceiling: although the enemy paths are very predictable it's often not obvious if you will hit the enemy or if you should shoot some more bullets just to be sure. I would decrease the hitboxes a bit, to allow dodging more enemies on the screen at the same time and increase that stressful feeling of fitting in tight spaces. The soundtrack is simple, but very enjoyable and does not feel repetitive.

DeskStop-30 by Turner Austin 2023-10-10T17:10:58Z

Wow! This is my favorite game in this jam so far. Love the idea and you executed it perfectly. That's exactly what I imagine a cluttered computer to feel like - the space is very limited. I deleted the important file too many times, that must have been a bug (or is there a virus that changes the position of icons?). The story was top notch though, and the difficulty just adds to the feeling of tight space. I even replayed the entire game to get both endings. It was worth it. :smile_cat:

Space of No Space by sisuisa 2023-10-10T16:02:39Z

Very interesting take on the cookie clicker ;). The game is pretty confusing though, especially the purpose of different upgrades. You could add something like tooltips on hover.

LD55 — Summoning

Delvecologist by Wheffle 2024-04-16T16:38:52Z

I really liked this game. I completed all the levels. All the movements are hard to grasp, but when you finish the level it feels so satysfing. I discovered a bug, if you select one of the summons, then press 'remove summon' and select one of the enemies you can change their position.

Hardcore High School by CaptainDreamcast 2024-04-26T14:58:42Z

This is the most hardcore game I ever played.

Come By by the4thcircle 2024-04-16T16:53:49Z

Very fun game!

Btw I have found a bug, which hard crashes the game. Here is the screenshot if it helps.

Honorius by BitLuderRb7804Fr 2024-04-16T17:00:26Z

Very hard. There was a level which had 3 slighlty different star pictures.

In My Image by Big_Chalupa 2024-04-30T10:57:18Z

I really liked the gameplay. I forgot I could dash and managed to complete the game without it. I think it would be better if the camera was a little farther away, so you could see the hands earlier. Still the idea of summoning the ball and then dodging it is very good. The story was confusing to me.

Summing Circle by Rawb 2024-04-28T13:07:29Z

Really cool idea. In my opinion the tutorial levels are a lot more fun then the daily puzzles. The daily puzzles seem like the only way to solve them is to try all the possibilities.

Pulse of the Ethereal by DzejPi 2024-04-27T09:46:28Z

I really enjoyed playing the game. I think it would really help if you would be able to see the aiming spot. Also moving the ship farther away from the camera would make it easier to see where you are.

Sigil by Wuppos 2024-04-28T13:33:48Z

The game is really confusing to me. It was hard to understand the rules at first and even then the game showed skulls, when I thought I solved the puzzle correctly. I think the game would benefit having a few introductory levels. Also would be cool to be able to retry the level when done wrong, so you could understand your mistakes.

Sky Dudes by osh.studio 2024-04-29T14:51:34Z

Very interesing idea. I wish there were no limits to wind pushing. It's annoying when you are left with 3 wind, and you have to wait.

Helldrivers by torte478 2024-04-16T18:24:20Z

Was confusing at first, but after I got the hang of picking passengers, giving change and buying upgrades it felt amazing. Riding the bus is just so relaxing.

Summoner's Dilemma by sudocoffee 2024-04-16T15:28:45Z

Cool game I made it to the 3rd floor. It seems to me that the clock and orbs stay on the next floor even when you summon them on the floor before. Is it intentional?

Crystalline by TripleCubes 2024-04-30T12:26:28Z

Really cool game. I had real fun playing it.

Boneworks by Imbajoe 2024-04-16T14:52:57Z

The ghosts are very underpowered. It seems that the more ghosts you spawn the harder it is to win. The easiest way to win is to immediately place 4 skeletons in the middle of the screen with only one ghost. I also barely managed to win with 2 ghosts, but I couldn't do it using your friend's strategy.

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-15T19:46:45Z

@warren-fisher The browser version requires SharedArrayBuffer support so it will not work across all browsers. Specifically I noticed that it doesn't open with uBlock Origin enabled. If that's the case I recommend downloading one of the desktop versions. There aren't MacOS binaries, but you should be able to import the source code in Godot and run it from there.

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-16T14:30:58Z

@nickcherns That was an intentional mechanic. I tought it would be obvious when the computer turns red, but I know the computer is not easy to notice, because you quickly start flying upward. In this part of the game you need to find an other way around.

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-16T16:46:12Z

@omitsu Not really. I had to make a name for an evil Operating System and this is what I came up with. I have heard of TempleOS and it may influenced my choice, but I think the game is inspired more by the game "Dunnet".

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-16T17:54:39Z

@larazofia Yes that is the end of the game. You must have missed the message that is shown when you first boot up the OS saying that you have won. The game is so short because I didn't have much time to make it (Compo).

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-16T18:34:19Z

@larazofia Thank you! This time I decided to focus more on the visuals than gameplay and I expected it would turn out short. But maybe someday I'll turn it into a complete game.

Messiah OS by happyglitch 2024-04-26T14:40:32Z

@henk You're right, it is an error lol. I have no idea how I missed that.

Harvest Havoc by mortusnegati 2024-04-30T10:14:20Z

Awesome game! I only saw the environment clue with the birds, were there any other clues?
