I like the addition of the gravity well! Always glad to have a little exposition too. Very straightforward and a great take on asteroids, good work!
@jcmonkey @jellycopter Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Nice small game. I think the story/tutorial interrupted the gameplay a bit too often so it didn't feel very fluid in that sense. Other than that I enjoyed playing it.
@spacecadet thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree, I felt like the dialog was a bit jarring and I would have liked to have spaced it out a bit more.
I thought the audio during the intro and gameplay was engaging. The 'dialogue' graphics were nice, and I liked how they slowly introduced game mechanics - i.e. the trail renderer. I found it a little difficult to steer the ship, and also turned on auto-fire. Not all of the dialogue/gameplay additions were clear to me. Also, maybe it's my screen resolution, but I wasn't able to see the entire screen. What I think I loved the most was the cohesive aesthetic and overall vibe. Clean, well presented, well though out. Well done :)
I like the runes and the minimal visual style works really well. It was hard to tell when I was taking damage, that missing juice would've really pulled everything together. Gravity well effect with the bullets is a really cool and fun idea.
That gets quite hectic once the asteroids start turning into runes :) Maybe have the dialog display fully on the first click? I think I skipped some parts of it by wanting it to speed up.
@quoclon Thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree, I had bigger plans for the dialogue but ran out of time and the autofire was done as I thought during playing "people are going to get sick of clicking". As for the resolution, I think I released with 1080x720 so might be cutting off on resolutions around that range? To be honest, I always find it a crapshoot to get unity laid out correctly in webgl. @fizzbark @endurion Thanks for playing and the feedback, agree with your comments re: juice and maybe increase text speed/autofinish.
The dialog speed was too slow for me (though I know some people prefer a slower speed), and too easy to accidentally skip, plus constantly interrupting the gameplay made it difficult to get into. I found controlling the ship difficult, but I'll admit that I've never really gotten on well with Asteroids-style games so maybe that's just me. I'd suggest that having game stages or waves of asteroids, with the dialog occurring in-between, would play a bit more smoothly. Or even just not pausing the game while the dialog is playing, and having some other button to continue/close when the player is done reading at their own pace.
It is hard to keep the asteroids away when the ship is turning so slowly. It's also confusing how much HP I have and how much HP the center has.
@squiggelsquirrel Thanks for playing and the suggestions, I agree with your thoughts on dialogue and waves of asteroids. @happyglitch Thanks for playing and your feedback.
Nice gravity implementation and dialogue system! Clean artstyle. The story and dialogue started out interesting (cool font) but as others have already mentioned it gets a bit disruptive.
While I did like the progress and that you revealed things with time (especially UI, smart choice), I'd prefer the fitting menu music to continue. Took a bit too long for the gameplay music to start in my opinion.
Can see the potential, the projectiles bending with gravity looks and feels great!
@rasblo Thanks for playing and the feedback. I agree with your observations, definitely could have done with another day of polish and playtesting at least.
Interesting game! I really like the aesthetic, it is simple but very effective -- it just looks good! Particularly the particle effect when you destroy the asteroids looks very nice to me. The gravity affecting the bullets was quite cool too. Unfortunately in all my tries the game got a bit chaotic and hard for me around score 30, there was just a bit too much happening :D , I hope I didn't miss out on a mechanic that would save me there. Still enjoyed playing the game though, good job! :)
@tygrak Thanks for playing and the feedback. There wasn't much more to the game after it gets crazy, so nothing really missed. I feel like I needed to add some sort of screen clearing mechanic, but ran out of time.
wow,the sliding trail and the gravity around the centre is pretty cool!but it's so hard to aim, auto aiming just saved my life :D,great concept!
Asteroids with a gravity well, it was good to slowly implement new features throughout the game but there came a point where it became overwhelming protecting the centre.
@happyglitch Thanks for playing and the feedback. @beats Thanks for playing. I agree, it does get a bit crazy towards the end, I tried to make it so that there was an ending condition but needed a bit more polish I think.
