Interesting atmosphere. Couldn't find the keys. Walked around several times. Probably should make some kind of indication to make it easier to find. Didn't quite understand the connection with the jam theme. BTW very bold atmosphere
@greenradiation Thanks for playing! Yes, in hindsight they could have been shorter. Thank you :)
@jojkeee I thought about making them glow or something, but it felt too obvious for me (that is the problem of being the dev yourself I guess... knowing all important locations ... ) The first rusty key is always near the door. Next keys are near a "point of interest" in the level.
But thanks for that feedback, I'll take that with me to future jams.
About the theme connection, "depths of the sewers". Should have been worked out more with more levels, but there I bumped into the constraints of the asset pack (assets all different sizes so it was a struggle fitting them all, wouldn't snap to grid all that good...) .. and time. I might have taken the jam a bit to leisurely and ended up not having time to finish level3 (I even scetched out 5)... But that's also a lesson for next time. More clearity towards the theme and maybe a little less casual approach on finishing :p :)
I couldn't find any keys, I couldn't see any sight of chase except when something fell from the ceiling and some random noises playing. You should consider adding a map next time so that it would be less confusing. But i can say that the graphics are decent
the atmosphere was great -- i love the monster sounds -- but i could not find anything to move on -- mini map would have been great -- thanks for making the game
Really solid atmosphere. I like many others couldn't find any keys at first but after reading some comments and finding the first one I was able to spot the rest as the game went on. The first scare with the one in the ceiling really got me, and the one that stared me down in front of the door really creeped me out too, really effective but simple behavior that I liked. Ending part was really fun too with how thick the fog was. Lots of good elements here!
Very scary atmosphere, well done there! And pretty effective jump scares! I also found corridors a little bit too long, and items very hard to find. Thankfully I found a little exploit - if you start precisely at the edge and look a certain way, you move much quicker, so, that made it easier. Otherwise very cool entry, enjoyed this one, with a little bit more work, it's a really nice short horror game!
That was pretty scare and atmospheric experience! I felt tense throughout the entire game. Nice work with graphics and audio also. Good job! :thumbsup_tone1:
I spent a looooong time to find that first gate, while being scared as heck :D
Very immersive experience! Good job!
Maybe a sprint mechanic would've felt nice, as the corridors were quite long especially at the beginning :)
I really liked the atmosphere of the game, the style of play. It was interesting to play
Liked the game a lot. I was so tense all the time, expecting for a jumpscare hahaha. Nice job!
I wanted to return the favor by also playing your game. If I knew it was a horror game, I probably wouldn’t have submitted my own! But anyway, I manned up and gave it a go. Really good atmosphere, even though I’m usually not a fan of this kind of mood, it actually felt really fitting here. Well done!
The graphics, sounds and music create a cool tense atmosphere! Very cool! Like many people I couldn't find the key. And the corridors seemed too long - although I found a bug: if you run along the edge of the ditch, you can speed up many times. I felt almost like Tony Hawk, balancing on the very edge :D
I liked the horror! I have found a way to speed up traffic while moving on the edge of the sidewalk)
Great job with the atmosphere! I managed to make it to the end, and I think if you wanted to continue working on this you could easily expand it to other liminal spaces!
Extremely atmospheric it felt like I was in the sewers of silent hill and Amnesia. The graphics fit perfectly and the sound and music is very well selected. I would recommend to give the player a radio that makes static if you are close to an item and a slightly brighter light if you are going on the right direction. That way I can guide myself a bit better. Excellent work!
I think as others have said the atmosphere is good, sadly I didn't actually enjoy playing it. Walking down the long corridors gradually became more tedious than scary.
The keys are a bit hard to see, being tiny and brown in a brown environment, but that actually adds to the realism, and I never felt lost, since they’re hidden in the only cluttered areas of the game. Sewers are a great setting for a horror game and fit perfectly with the theme. Though it was scary, I felt more trapped than chased, but that’s not really a big problem. The sound is perfect, and the scares work really well. Overall, it’s a very effective and well-made horror game. Well done!
I love me a horror jam game! This was moody, the constantly lurking monster made me anticipate a jumpscare the whole game lol. The low poly style fits well. My only complain is that there are areas where you have to walk for a while without anything happening which help build anticipation but can get repetitive. Overall this was fun!
Nice atmosphere, the corridors are a bit long and boring though. The keys are hard to spot. I didn't even see the first one when I picked it up. I managed to glitch out the physics by jumping onto the items by the first key. The ending is somewhat abrupt.
The jumpscares got me the first few times and the atmosphere was pretty cool. I figured out the puzzles but the fog and the walking speed make it a little sluggish to traverse the world. If it had more work done, this type of game is definitely something I see Markiplier playing. Cool game with nice atmosphere.
Great short horror game with great atmosphere in a liminal setting.
I quickly caught up on the monster being just a shy little guy so by the second level I was trying to get as close as I could to the poor fella
Wish there was a third level with a more direct confrontation as the game did end rather abruptly. I'm going to assume we finally met the guy and became pals :sunglasses:
Loved the realistic garbage texture you used. I don't why it grabbed my attention as much as it did
Great work!

Good job on the atmosphere and the mood! The kyes are a bit hard to spot and I spent quite a bit of time going in circles, but it felt nice and quite old school with the thick fog
I was FREAKING TERRIFIED when something fell from above out of the well's hole! You're walking, walking, it’s like you’re in a trance, and then BAM, you’re clutching your heart))) Pure horror!!!
Fantastic atmosphere of "Dread" thanks to the fog+monster echoes. First area corridor was too long, but pacing was much better after. The darkness at the end with the red lamps was particular effective!
Very nice job! I recommend a save/load system because I got stuck on a bag of garbage about 15 minutes in, after turning the valve to shut off the steam leak, which sadly discouraged me from retrying to see the ending. Great job on the eerie audio and visual setting, I still have the footsteps in my ears!
I've looked through everything) I've studied the map, but I still haven't found the key to these two doors. door.jpg
On the right corner, near the tip @egor-iv
I'm not usually a horror guy, but I liked this one. I think the monster's sounds should be less common. I really liked the sounds of a looming threat in the beginning, but after a few minutes I just kind of tuned the monster out. The visual appearances of it were great, though, making me do a double take or two. Maybe make the footsteps quieter as well.
