Love the moving geometry! It felt like there was a puzzle there that I couldn't quite understand however. I got stuck pretty low to the ground. Love the atmosphere and music!

I can't rate this sadly as I'm only getting 2fps (I'm on integrated graphics). Looks beautiful but an option for lower graphics settings would probably help a lot more people play it.
Wow! Excelent! At first I was looking into the distance, wondering if the world was procedural and repeating, and if there were parts where you sort of have to cross the wrap boundary to get higher. But then I noticed as I got higher, the terrain would clip in a way that looks very much intentional, similar to those fractal 4-dimensional demos you can see on youtube. The music was a perfect fit. I LOVE the atmosphere.
I must say regarding the theme though, it seems like you took the direct opposite approach. Like instead of limited space, you went with regular space, made it infinitely large, and then added a further dimension to it --- making it even less limited than unlimited (if that makes sense).
Overall I loved this one. I'd love to see a full game along these lines. Great work! 10/10, got really high
Dang, I was hoping it might run in WINE, but no luck. The screenshots and concept look quite intriguing though!
This was really neat and chill. Took around 10 tumbles to get the top. The thing you get once you get there is a nice touch (won't spoil it here). The shrinking mechanic makes certain jumps a little wonky (getting pushed off your trajectory by the changing environment), but mostly just took getting used to. One other critique is that a little bit of coyote-time would go a long way toward making it feel fair. The jump timing can be a bit punishing as-is, but nothing insurmountable.
The background music and fog makes for a nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed it.
P.S. the music doesn't seem to loop after a while
A very interesting concept. Well done!
I won! :) Took about 4 mins. Took a few brutal falls. I love the art and energy. The music was perfect. Makes me wanna play chess. haha.
@huga @mduo13 Ohhhh sorry I will try to update a low graphics option.
@darzu Actually you need to jump to the platform in the center of the 4th screenshot. The guidance of the game is indeed a weakness XD
I see that they definitely upgraded the rendering engine in Godot 4. That looks great! Even though a light felt a little bit too much sometimes, and platforming was sometimes pretty tight as well, but I managed to get to the end. That said, it would be nice to have some optimalisation; it was a lot to handle even for my RTX 3060, but was still playable. Well done!
The Linux version worked! Very pretty game, except the extreme glowy fog on the ground. A 3D jump puzzle is nothing new, but the part where the looping world shrinks closer together as you get higher is pretty fascinating. I wish you had played more with the ways that interacts with the gameplay, like having jumps that seem impossible but aren't because of the things moving with height, or having it work in reverse at some point.
I'm relieved that the hardest jump was pretty close to the ground because it would've been pretty frustrating if there was a hard jump really high up that took a bunch of tries to practice, but I had to re-climb the earlier parts to get there. I guess if you did make it harder and longer you would need checkpoints.
I appreciate the little "bonus" for completing the game, too. Nice touch and lets you really enjoy the atmosphere and the fascinating 3D model.
Visually stunning! I caught myself distracted by how cool everything looked. Art and lighting made this graphically spectacular. Well done!
Great idea, very cool moving effect, and superb atmosphere, a great game :)
Very confusing at first, but the shaders and the geometry is mind bending ! Aside from a few glitches but it's very understable and completely fine!
@scottmakesgames Thanks for your reply, we will definitely try to expand this concept. About the theme, I originally want to make a tiny but looping world to show the limits beneath the seemingly vast open world. But with lots of brainstorm and direction change we end up like this. XD
@trifectuh Thank you so much for pointing out the bgm bug. Coyote-time is such a good idea, will definitely improve the feeling. Now I wonder why I never thought about this in 3d games...
@dzejpi Thanks for the advice! Lighting indeed needs some tweaking. The performance issue mainly comes from the looping effect, and I'm still struggling to maintain decent view range and avoid reaching the bottleneck in the same time. It turns out that's still more work to do. :\
@mduo13 Yeah the fog and lighting is a bit buggy, now we found that with some simple screen space effects can already get decent visual feedback, no need to use those fancy but unstable and costly features. I really want to polish the map during development, but clumsy skills and underrated design complexity ultimately left us with something to regret. :( Hope we can push this further in future development.
Stunning visual effect with a nice mysterious but chill atmosphere !
Great work ! Definitely a solid concept and I agree with you: totally worthy to push further the developpement of your idea !
Godot +. It sounds like you've already explored a large location but haven't come across any game mechanics or tasks. Perhaps you should try looking for hints or instructions on the game's page or in other game resources like forums or player communities. There may be specific tasks or missions you need to complete to progress in the game.
Nice relaxed platforming experience. I believe this was the first time I've encountered 3D godot game as well, seems doable. Nice touch giving more freedom at the end.
Good job.
A good short game, the mirror effect works well. Maybe the game needed something more than just walk, run and jump. A good idea to improve.
Interesting game, cool concept. The music reminded me of minecraft's music, almost haunting, chill with an aura of deep sadness, like it knows something that i don't. The way it seems endless and yet is repeating is fascinating. I did not like how the camera tilts when you go in a sideways direction.
That was trippy! I honestly didn't realize it was repeating geometry until I tabbed back to this page. Then I started looking for the path up, and eventually got there. Really really neat effect. I'm curious if you achieved that purely by moving positions of things, or some graphics rendering trick. I did catch one balcony get partially culled as I was jumping onto it.
When the main mechanic of a game is a platformer, you'll probably want to put the coyote time feature in there. I got caught a few times trying to jump at the edge, and no jump happened, just fell down. Otherwise, it was great!
Amasing concept! At first i wasn't enjoying it much because of failing, but when you get the hang of it and you climb you feel the pressure of not falling. Then the you notice things getting bigger and the final blue square. Simple but effective concept! Congratulations!
