Really impressive work making an RTS in 2 days! Sadly it crashed for me after a few minutes, but I got the gist of the game. I'm pretty terrible at RTS games, but this was easy to pick up and play, and I had fun with it! Very well polished too and I liked the concept. Good stuff!
@reccy Thankyou! I really appreciate it

Oh this is a great little game. I love the art style!! I also had the game crash on me (it was while I was switching planets) which made me lose my progress, but it was a very enjoyable experience!

aaaAH this is so cool!!! i love the art style s o much.... wow. really adorable and impressive :D
Thanks @pavocado! Yeah I wish i had more time to playtest and iron out the crashes. Definitely something I want to improve on. But it makes me happy to know you enjoyed what was there
@ty Thankyou! That's high praise for my frantic scribbles haha. Really appreciate it

I really really love the art style :)
Thankyou @m11 and @holyshot <3
@pavocado and @reccy I've uploaded a more stable version :)

That’s a beautiful artstyle you got there. I absolutely love it! The beginning reminded me of Celestia (astronomy software) which I used to browse space in high school. When it comes to the game itself, I definitely did not expect RTS in Combo. Very impressive work for 48 hours!

It's amazing that you managed to make an RTS. I loved the art style and the game play. I am sure you will be expanding on this, great game.
Thankyou @dzejpi <3, looked into that software and it looks interesting. I can see why you had the association
Cheers @dobryn. I really do appreciate it.
This was amazing! I absolutely loved the artstyle and the atmosphere you've created. Great work!
As people said previously, for 2 days this is very impressive. The art looks pretty too! It would be nice to have the ability to move multiple ships at once 🙂
Really cool! Even having an AI to play against for a compo game is really impressive. The art style is very unique, I loved it. Sometimes a bit difficult to control, especially if you want multiple ships to go to the same system, with all the zooming in and out gets really tedious. Solid work though, keep it up!
I like the elegance of how it looks, initially I was confused on what to do, and I understand that it goes against the designed I enjoyed, but maybe add a bit of color to where you need me to go as a queue. I cannot imagine how much work went into this RTS.
Wow impressive for a 2 day jam! I liked the simplistic art and having AI to battle against was great. Like a few others have said being able to select multiple ships from within the planetary view or being able to select ships from the galaxy view would be a great addition! Awesome job!
Thankyou @ethankessler, @itsmebutsolo @bridgeonastick @binaryprinciple and @grumpy-gecko I really appreciate it <3. I'll be sure to check out your games.
I actually had ship multi-selection working briefly by clicking and dragging a box or double clicking to get all of the same kind of ship. But it was just too buggy at the time for me to keep it in. I agree though, once you get a couple of systems it starts to get really tedious
Colour-wise I wanted to have some nebula shaders in the background and give each star a different colour and size based on its luminosity but just couldn't hack it in time.
Didn't expect to find a 4x game as one of the submissions. I really enjoy those types of games so this pushed all the buttons for me. Great job!
I don't know... I really don't think of this as an RTS game  But I suppose it kind of is  Really good job - love the gfx (really) - I know they are not complex or anything but it suits the purpose and they are consistent. No sure exactly how it relates to the theme - but rated the other categories non-biased  Very good job :thumbsup_tone1:

Good stuff, like the mood of the game, felt it didnt fit the theme too well. Impressed at the depth of gameplay done in only 2 days.

That's quite an achievement to make an x4 game during LD (and for your first jam!). I love the art, the game is easy to get into. Its just great nice job!
@n-o-games Thankyou! I wanted to explore the themes of an unstable and expanding AI and I think 4X kinda lends itself to that. Whether it was wise to attempt at making one is another matter
@purpledartfrog That's a fair assessment. 4X game is probably a more accurate description like N.O Games said. Thanks for your kind words on the art, I think the simplicity helped me out a lot here.
@digitaldude555 Thank you  I think that depth came at a cost to stability haha.
@pvp That means a lot. I was worried it would be a bit too much and get confusing. I tried to make the controls fairly intuitive but some ship selection options and ease of use tweaks would have gone a long way I think. Oh well, lessons for next time
I wanted to flesh out theme more with the enemies being the result of the players unstable systems, but ran out of time unfortunately, so that's a very valid critique

Very cool entry. I think I sadly found a major bug : my fighter planes always end up trying to go fight an ennemy off screen, and when the fight end, the game crashes. It's weird. Outside of that, very cool, the UI could be a bit better (selecting ships one by one is annoying when you've got a fleet of 10), but very cool overall.
@masaru That is weird, I'll double check the code involved with that to make sure they're not going after anything outside the system. Thanks for letting me know. :)
Hey there!
I really like the idea behind this one (Alien: Covenant vibes). I was quite impressed with how full the star system and mechanics were. There's a fair amount of logic and consideration in what you've constructed, but I feel the experience was a bit of a let-down in how unguided it was. Some kind of narrative thread of mechanical progression would have gone a long way in keeping my interest beyond exploring 3-4 stars. Minor issues with UX and communication could be alleviated with a little more time. More visibility over the system definitely would have helped (perhaps more feedback in the visual design of planets to indicate their resources, for example). In general, I think teaching players how to play tends to be a challenge for technical games for LD.
Outside of this, I like the minimalist art style and the attention to adding some animated graphics and colour-based feedback. What you've made is really ambitious and impressive, I think you could easily justify spending more time on it post-jam.
Thanks for the game!

The fact that you managed this game is beyond me. I think it's amazing, and I don't think I could have done something like this given the amount of time. (Maybe I could pull it off in a month). Anyways, there are some things that maybe I would change. The enemies seem to conquer things really fast, or maybe that's just me. That's about it, as far as balancing goes.
My biggest issue though, was the fact that my spaceships started killing each other. It made 0 sense at all, and didn't really seem to serve any purpose. Idk, maybe something's supposed to happen with that, but to me I just didn't like it.
I would have liked a tutorial. The first few minutes I played was just pure confusion until I figured out you could move with wasd.
I think the game is a little bit too long for a game jam game. Most people aren't willing to spend a lot of time on a game. (This is a good problem to have btw, not a bad one). My point is that the game would be better as a full release, so I think if you have the time and motivation, you should definitely try that!
But overall you had an amazing game, and I liked how it was unique.

(+) grafics & gameplay both simple but very effective
(+) nice variety of improvements & shiptypes
(+) 2 resources gives the player to think about the economy, without being it to much
(-) the scrolling (switching between galaxy & starsystem) is one of the games enemy, disrupting player control
Very interesting game, it lacks of sound, but theere is a lot of work on this, and the mechanics are well implemented. Good work !
The art style and interface are just fantastic, I am really amazed on how you managed to do all of this in such short amount of time.

Nice looking game with a lot of promise but a few things made it frustrating. Not being able to multi-select ships made the who;e process of select ship, zoom out, click on destination a bit tedious if you want to send a few ships to another system. Fighters seemed to always go off on their own and fight in inter-stellar space so you never knew how many were actually defending a system. Periodically, ships would decide that one of their own was an enemy and attack it but the attacks would have no effect and they'd just keep at it. Often, on taking a system, no metal mining would happen so no ships could be built.
All of these are fixable with more time and play testing so I'd like to play this again when it is more developed.

Nice job making an RTS on your first entry! I also did that on my first Ludum Dare... and then never again, LOL =). I enjoyed it, but ended up spending too much time zooming in and out and got frustrated. Felt like I got in a stalemate with the AI, neither of us making any headway, but only because I couldn't order my guys fast enough. Just a little more easy control - either selecting the ships from the zoomed out view, or some hotkeys, I think would have gone a long way. I did like the feel of expanding my builders to all of the nearby stars, but wish they would have kept doing stuff without me ^_^.
