Hilarious game! I was laughing the entire way through. The story, voice acting, and cast were all amazing - I loved the narrator and the cabbage! It also had an incredible amount of content - I did not expect multiple endings and a final boss "fight"! Makes sense that you had to work on it past 11PM. Pretty much the only nitpick that I had is the pages requiring pressing the right arrow key while the JRPG-style dialogue used A, making the transition between the two a bit awkward, but it did make sense (loved the page turn animation, by the way). Overall, awesome entry!
One of the many joys in Ludum Dare is knowing that Captain Dreamcast will make the most outlandish and wild story you've ever experienced. It's great, and I sincerely applaud you for continuing to add voices! I was too busy this Ludum Dare to add a bunch of humor to my entry, but let me say, Captain, you got your priorities in the right place.
The graphics have just the right amount of chaos, from the wolf having a backwards "HELP" tattoo, to the accurate drawing of myself, to the artwork for the bad endings getting decreasingly detailed. I know I've said it before, but your sense of humor vibes with me.
There's not much I can say that I didn't say in my recorded video, so... enjoy:

What a wild ride... Very creative and funny for sure ! Chaotic is a nice way to describe the game!
Lol... I love how you had to stifle a laugh with some voice-overs. Good fun! Although, the goat is a bit disturbing...

Ok, that was funny  I started out thinking this would be done quickly, but nope. I needed to succeed! An I did. The voice-over was a bit low, but I liked it a lot. Great way to present a classic puzzle, very nice job

Nice game! The only issue I had with it, is that one press of the button occasionally skipped several dialogs (I played the web-verision on itch)
Massive props for the voiceover on all of this, made it really quite fun to just go through and hear the jokes!
I had a fun time picking all the wrong options.
I killed god with a cabbage :)
Vigorous live commentary of final fight! A post-modern philosophical momotaro odyssey! Wise prophecy that Ohio will be eliminated! And I am a cabbage!

I loved this, the "give paw" line absolutely killed me - I think this was the funniest LD game I've played

That was hilarious! I had so much fun trying all the possible endings. I thought the music fit well with the humour and there was a lot of story for a compo game!

Hilarious ! The voice acting really adds an extra layer to it. It took me some time cause I got a few wrong endings, but it was fun trying all the variations out.
Someone in our game dev group had the same idea to use this riddle but couldn't come up with an idea for a mechanic. It's neat to see that someone tried.
That was a hilarious trip, I loved every second of it! I think I found all 4 endings :)
This is amazing. I started out thinking about making my entry based on this riddle but couldn't figure out where to take it! I'm glad you did it. Hilarious, love the tone and art.
Dude, great work - love your voiceover, you're hilarious!
I got it running for dreamcast

Interesting to see that flycast supports whichever glue holds my Dreamcast engine together, thanks for letting me know!

How did you know of my spiky hair, dragonslayer sword and my hometown Ohio, Schnitzel Schnitzel? :astonished: Hilarious 15 min intro and outro for a eh... once in a lifetime puzzle Schnitzel Schnitzel! I will think about the nobody descriptions still the next weeks Schnitzel Schnitzel. Loved this entry Schnitzel Schnitzel!

Man, I wish I still had my Dreamcast. Maybe I can get my hands on a defective one I can fix up for cheap.
But enough about my Dreamcast desire. I'm glad I saw somebody used the old Wolf, Goat, Cabbage puzzle for this jam since it makes for a perfect fit. I didn't expect a visual novel to be made for it, much less a Dreamcast visual novel. The visuals remind me of Ben There, Dan That and I'm impressed this has voice acting. I'm also glad the game takes place in Ohio and not Michigan. The writing is also rather funny. The goat learning "Silence" and using it in the JRPG battle made me laugh out loud. Overall, a quick, fun, and funny romp.
Unfortunately, nullDC can't run this game, but Redream can.

I was not expecting this AT ALL. Hilarious, very good job :D
Really great work with the voiceovers and the story was entertaining. I think the goat was my favorite character. He reminded me of The Moon from The Mighty Boosh. Loved that there were different endings as well.
Really funny, well done!
