this game was great. havent seen a puzzle action game with multiple floors in some time now. this could be interesting with a full version.
This one is hard to beleive to be made in 72 hours much less 48 hours considering the amount of level design and overarching level progression of the game. So well done and congratulations on being the best most polished game I have played on that jam so far. There isn't much to say other than greate Art, Sound and especially level design.
Great game. Combining puzzle and action is for sure unique. I really appreciated the overall polish with (animations, sounds, particles). Congrats!
Hi! This brings back a lot of memories, as I played a clone of Tower of the Sorcerer as a kid. Never realized there were other games in that style, it was one of my favorites back then!!! I was confused at first since you can just level up without meeting XP requirements. I also entered the main level with 26 eyes because I leveled up in the tutorial... but playing the game legit, I got a score of 22 levels and *might* have seen all floors? Seriously cool entry, I was captivated! Hoping to see more!!! (Especially since some of the movement puzzles with the slime, etc would make for some hardcore levels - bring it on!!! :D )

honestly one of my favorites this LD! the looping idea and using the eyes to make your next run better was very well executed, gameplay was pretty simple but makes sure you spend your moves thoughtfully.
my only issue was it wasnt entirely clear if i had won the game since i cleared all the robos on the top floor so i did one more loop thinking maybe i have to destroy all the generators too.
it's really a shame this doesnt have more ratings :( make sure to keep leaving comments on peoples games or submit it to peoples twitch streams to increase your game's visibility, your game really deserves it xD
Cute little game, the idea of a puzzle game based on character progression is pretty cool. I found the sound effects got a bit repetitive over time, you could try shifting the pitch slightly each time the sound is triggered. Great work!
Love the movement system, especially being able to undo any move and prevent brutal frustration of doing something out of order. I kind of wish the combat was streamlined somehow instead of clicking on enemies to attack over and over. Also, it would be nice to pick up items in a line instead of needing to move to each square individually. I feel like the summoning ability is underutilized, only being necessary for a couple sections. Visually the game is great, and feels nice to play. Overall great entry, congrats!
Wow, great game! Gameplay is polished and smooth, good puzzle design. Nice that the attack system is deterministic so you don't have to leave anyhing to chance. I got stuck on floor 4, lacking a silver key, but will come back for the game later.

Amazing game! A great mix of puzzle and RPG! It took me about an hour to get 21 level) But I can't believe that this game was created by one person in 48 hours - it's too good)
Whenever I play a game with grid movement, and a lot of backtracking, and lerp/animation to show the character moving, I always do a test I call the "three-finger roll." I hit right/up/left in a burst of ultrafast inputs, and I see where my character ends up. Some games just ignore input until animations complete and only process one input. Some games queue one additional input, and process two. I always appreciate it when games, like this one, process all three inputs. To me, it's a sign of craft and attention to detail when you make sure your game remains responsive to inputs despite having turn-based movement and animation. In fact, overall I felt no splinters playing this game.
I spent quite a while with this, and destroyed both main generators. My total level score ended up at 36.
I liked how the maze's challenges ranged on a shifting spectrum from obstacle to resource. Some aspects reminded me a bit of Desktop Dungeons in that way, except here it was a multi-level resource with backtracking, which reminded me in a really pleasant way of this obscure "traditional" roguelike I really enjoy called The Ground Gives Way.
This entry felt really complete, with very strong design and fleshed-out systems and polish. Art and the basic-but-effective sfx totally had it covered. I really appreciated the infinite undo, which I needed on two occasions: once, in a long string, when I learned what the slime's trail does, and once when the shortness of the re-fire rate on movement brought me into an attack I didn't intend.
An impressive amount of scope that feels fully realized here, great job! I really enjoyed it.
Really nice puzzle aspect! Cute graphics though I wish the main character had a little more pizazz to their design. I definitely had a nice time playing it! Wish their was some background music to add to the atmosphere. Overall, excellent job!
@pkenney Thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback! There are actually some cases where the game fails to queue inputs, for example during combat. My main inspiration was Tactical Nexus (an other obscure puzzle RPG with an insane amount of content) but I also discovered TGGW recently so maybe I was subconsciously influenced by it. I really liked its food/rest mechanics though I only managed to make it to Lab 1 haha
This one is great! It's got some good depth to it, without funnelling the player into doing the 'one right thing.' There's a lot of depth, and a lot of content given the time constraints, and that content manages to be of exceptionally high quality. The player has a lot of personality too, I like his little smiling resting sprite.
Really, the only complaint (and it is a reach) that I have would be that the enemies don't feel as varied as they could be. Admittedly, I didn't get insanely far, so maybe I just haven't seen it yet, but much in the same way the slime has the passive slippery trail, it could be fun to see more enemies who have passive abilities or other interesting behaviour.
I'll definitely be coming back to finish this one!
