Love the aesthetics, combining the 2D with 3D works very well and I know it's hard to pull off but You did it!

127.png Very fun to speedrun!
Art design is really cool, that retro space background is piece of art
Oh no, I thought this was a new recordScreenshot 2023-10-02 144915.png

Love the Graphics and the music as well as the creativity. Honestly not anything negative or feedback I can give, good job.
Looks and plays great. Arrows to the planet and nearest junk peace would be nice.
Super cool! Great graphics, great music, super fun trash-slinging action. I was unprepared for the sudden surge in *intensity* in the music when I went from practice mode to speedrun mode; it really felt urgent! I never quite got a grasp on how grappling different things in different ways would affect my speed--sometimes I would just mosey along and sometimes I would grapple a random rock and start *flying* across the map. Perhaps I need to learn more about orbital mechanics.
Solid entry!
Great game! Arts and music are amazing, and the game is pretty hard!
I was drawn to this game because of the amazing graphics. You have some really interesting mechanics here. This game felt unique and was fun to play. I agree with @baturinsky that it would be nice to have arrows indicating where the nearest objects are. There were times I found myself in a spot where I overshot and knew a planet was nearby but couldn't see it. You should be proud of yourself, this is a great game.
This is a solid package - unique idea, cool art and catchy music. I liked how everything felt quite snappy and all wait times (e.g. waiting for the trash pickup) are visually indicated to the player.
Sometimes it was slightly annoying that when an asteroid when outside of the screen, it was not able to latch to it anymore. I it would have felt cool to do a last minute pull when the target was just exiting the screen.
But overall, a really solid entry!
Game mechanic is really cool and creative! I had fun playing it, well done!
So cool how the speed builds up if you do it correctly. I love your planet š super slick. Nice music šµ Leaderboard š Great game team !
I absolutely love this game ! Everything is so cool from the movements to the musics. If I need to be critical I will say that there would be other way to prevent the player from going too far rather than teleport them. Moreover, the camera can feel a bit static, a little look ahead could help to see ongoing objects. Really cool game. Well Done !
Pretty fun to play, the atmosphere was nice, the gamefeel was good, the graphics are beautiful.
I really liked the music and your great art style, especially the asteroids look fantastic! Also with lots of fancy cherries on top like the coin particles and the circle fillup when collecting/upgrading. Great job! Best time I managed: 2:35, which is .. not great :P cosmotrasher.png
love it, even though I am terrible at it :D
The grappling hook is a very fun and easy game mechanic to understand but hard to master, which makes the game very fun to replay and get better at it. The speedrun mode is a nice addition to it.
I got 2:56 :D

This was really cool! This lasso type of mechanic was easy to learn, but hard to master. Sometimes I could pull off a sweet move, but more often than not I would just crash into an asteroid XD The acceleration of the grappling hook was a bit too much for me to handle at times. The addition of a pracitce mode was also much appreciated, allowing me to play around a bit before going for the actual speedrun.
I really enjoyed this one! Really well done :D
Graphics and game feel are amazing. I agree with the another commenter about feeling confused with the relationship between grappling and velocity. Sometimes I'd barely be moving, I'd grapple and I'd go flying, other times I'd grapple and not move at all. Maybe a web build issue?
All-in-all. Amazing work!

was doing so well till I missed the planet for a drop off and pinballed myself around, very fun well done

I really love your implementation of the hookshot mechanic. Zooming around at high speeds has a very good game feel, and having to return to earth orbit regularly to offload trash is a nice addition. I do feel the game would benefit from some level of urgency, maybe needing to restock/buy fuel for the hookshot (think the fuel mechanic from Sunless Sea). Perhaps the speedrun mode adds that, but I haven't had time to try it  The aesthetics are very on point, and I had a lot of fun playing :)
I felt like Spider-Man in space - playing with acceleration in zero gravity was a lot of fun. I liked that there is a progression, and as you learn to use the hook, it becomes more interesting to play too. The only sad thing is that sometimes, due to the random placement of asteroids, you find yourself trapped, not knowing how to accelerate in needed direction and move back to the planet. But this is absolutely normal for a game made in such a short time. Great job!
Solid core mechanics, and meaningful upgrades, easy control and huge space for skill improvement, well done
1:44 is my person best time. I feel like I could do better, but I definitely struggled with grabbing objects, I would always get them to orbit me at *juuust* the right distance where I couldn't pick them up.
The music slaps, and the artwork is great too! All around this was a really well made game. I recorded myself playing to deliver maximum feedback (and showcase my speedrun time)

I'll be honest, this was quite stressful. This kind of an open space freaks me out. It's so easy to fly away and have no opportunity to go back. I don't feel like I have enough control to avoid that, therefore it gave me some extra anxiety.
I did manage to beat the speedrun mode after a few attempts. It was too hard for a touchpad, so I took my mouse for this. :)
I do like the idea of upgrades, but I couldn't figure out what the thing near the planet does and costs 5$. The backpack is very useful though.
Sometimes I grab something and it just spins around for infinity. This is kinda frustrating, adds to the whole feeling of being helpless. The same can happen when you're trying to grab the planet. I was flaying away from the planet due to momentum even though I was holding to the planet. I had to re-grab an asteroid to stop myself from flying out of bounds.
The music was nice. I do admire that you managed to make more than one cool track during the compo.
The art style as well as the sprites themselves is glorious. :) Things fit together and do not feel like a bunch of sprites that don't share the same style.
You probably never intended to make this game actually scary, but you got me. xD
P.S. - I won't let my tension meter affect the ratings. The game is good; it's just not my cup of tea I guess. I get this void space fear helplessness feeling pretty easily.

Nice twist on the theme, very groovy music and love the art style.
Sometimes I "clipped" into an asteroid and had to wildly grapple around to get unstuck, but only happend like two times in practice mode.
Scored a 2:02!
Back for my review: great work all around! Feels great to play and the tunes are on point. I had trouble telling the difference with the hook upgrade, but that's fine. The core game is more than enough! :^)
Music is banging love it great job: image_2023-10-04_004434160.png
Very nice mechanic, reminded me of the ninja rope in Worms! I think I would've found it more satisfying if the collectibles were just instant pick-ups, as I found grabbing items lost my flow a bit. But very nice!
The music fits really well. I like the difficult but learnable movement. Feels great to play.
It's a very interesting gold miner game, but now I'm a miner, and the music and gameplay are very interesting. If there were more planets and the simulation of gravity in space, it would be even more interesting.
Grappling hooks make every game at least 50% better
I love the background effect, and the main mechanic is very creative, nice job sir
Loved the grapplehook mechanic. My only complaint is that your grapple hook doesn't go around with the orbit of the planet :( but besides that well done it was fun!
Fun little mining game **"In Space".** The grappling hook mechanic works well and there is a clear progression. Wish there was some kind of punishment for flying out into space though, like you losing all your coins.
This was nice, grappling and physics felt good and both music tracks were really good and suitable for the two modes. Graphics are really pleasant. Feels quite polished overall. Mechanics are made very clear with the dashed line and the graphics for the upgrades and the money icons. I like how you simply interact with everything by grappling onto it for a bit, very slick! C:
I got 2:45! Love the music, the soundtrack is a banger! My only complaint would be that sometimes the collecting feels a bit janky when you've grabbed something and you keep rotating around eachother without collecting. But otherwise good job on making a very fun and well polished game. :)
nice :) Untitle22d.png
@markais Nice :D
Nice game ! The grappling hook pull is really well done!
Very good Gamefeel ! :) :o
This game is amazing! The mechanics are so well thought out and innovative. It genuinely feels polished for the amount of time the game was made. The visuals are so beautiful, and the music is so relaxing! Its actually so addicting to constantly upgrade my equipment. Great job!
Great game! Had a lot of fun! Maybe missing a real objective in addition of buying better items!
Really fun and polished game, loved the easy mechanic and it is good for people that want to get skilled in it!
I had a lot of fun slingshotting around asteroids, the movement is very satisfying once you get used to it. It's great that you had time to add multiple game modes with different music too! My only complaint is that the game could use more sound effects. Well done!
That was really fun and the tunes on the speedrun side was a bop for sure!!
highS.PNG
It's fun and innovative. The hook mechanic is interesting, but sometimes the hook doesn't drag you. Also a bit of aim assist would be great.
The graphics is well done. I like the physics of the gameplay. The mechanics really requires lots of skills of playing. Overall a really fun game!
I love this art style so much!!! game mood is so nice , while game get boring after few minutes, wish there are more content of this game
Cool game, mechanics are sweet, and nice art!
Well done! I really like the art style. Swinging around is pretty cool! Sometimes i can collect trash very quickly, i dont know what im doing for that. Feels super nice to glide over it and collect it!
Oh yeah and it reminds me a bit of Aether by Edmund Mc Millen!
Hey, Iām the host of the Ludum Dare score chasers tournament for this jam
Wanted to ask for score chasers if you were fine with me playing some gameplay of your game in the background in the waiting period / intermission. In the waiting period its going to cycle between gameplay of a bunch of different games in the background (with music from games in the jam playing as well)
@ategon Yes, that would be great!
This game is a lot of fun, I spent a long time here playing and only later realized that I was in training mode :-( I made a mistake lol. Then I tried to get a good time, but I didn't make it past three minutes so I took a break. But the music is really fun, I thought it was cool that you added two songs, one calmer in the test version and another really lively in the actual version. So you hit the nail on the head here, I didn't find anything negative to say about it. You even intelligently, even though you don't have an online ranking, created your humble ranking on your own page, that's also smart.
This game is fun and there is a sort of chill atmosphere I really like. If won't post my score here, because I suck š Nice job š
