Cute lil game. Not really my genre but it was entertaining!
Great game, I had to resort to using the guide after making the laser.
This was awesome! Cute graphic style and really well presented throughout. I liked the paper hints, but I did find a few times I was completely lost, perhaps some kind of indicator for things you can combine after a period of not creating anything just to help the player along? Truly fantastic work
Good game! I spent a lot of minutes combining things over. I made charcoal, I think, then couldn't figure out any other combination.
I couldn't understand or figure out a bit of it, but it was very creative.
Cute little puzzle game, but I the logic was a little bit too obtuse for me near the end. I had to resort to the walkthrough after melting my box without having enough sand leftover to make the mirrors (it seemed kinda like a bug that the glass box could only crush into metal though; was that intentional?).
- making the mirrors was kinda buggy, and ended up making metal panels instead sometimes - at one point I agitated a bottle and then threw it, and the fizzing noise never went away - reading the note interrupts the laser beam (this is a super weird one, haha) - I would have liked there to be an easter egg for using the mirrors to angle the laser at the mouth :p - occasionally after picking something up, the directional controls would reverse until I put it back down
It could stand a bit more polish, but overall it's a pretty solid entry!
what a cute game! I could not understand the gameplay much though.
beat it! pretty fun, though some things took a while to figure out. I think in this case it was because we know it's a game, and we're not sure what affordances there are in manipulating the object. For example, how do we know the yellow dust can combine to a bigger pile, or which particles (sparks, water) can affect what? Maybe if there was a short item description just to push things further along so it's more of an informed decision verses guessing (ex. Looks like this is water... or is it spit?, or fine dust: isn't everything made out of dust?). I liked the different paper hints though. Some buggyness with carrying things but overall pretty good.
A good game, a bit difficult to understand in the beginning.
Um bom jogo, um pouco difícil para entender no começo.
Thanks for the comments!
@sean-s-leblanc I knew about most of these things, unfortunately time was the reason most were not fixed. I definitely did think about something happening when shooting the mouth with the laser haha. The bug after picking stuff up should have been fixed in version 1.1, maybe you played an older version.
Also for the glass block bug you mentioned, do you mean that crushing things like pebbles turned them into metal (slag)? That was also something fixed in version 1.1
@aeveis Putting the name of the item in the bottom corner when holding it was something I thought of adding pretty early on, but I never got around to it. I do think that would have helped though
@torcada ah yeah, sounds like that was the case. Looking at the walkthrough for the different objects' names, it was pebbles -> slag.
@sean-s-leblanc yeah that's because there's actually an invisible laser inside the block (and mirrors). and i thought i handled that issue before, i dont remember why it did that. but its definitely fixed now
It was hard to get inot but once I did I really enjoyed the ride. Great game and really creative!
Neat puzzle game, but very cryptic! I love how little you start with and how much you can end up making from it. I managed to get to the end, but I never made the charcoal (?) needed to make what I assume was the last hint sheet. I also found a bug, I think. I tried fusing two sheets of steel together with the fire and ended up making a mirror. I wasn't sure what happened at first, then realized I'd need both metal and glass to make another.
Anyway, I quite enjoyed it!
@logan thanks! yeah the charcoal paper thing is kinda strange, having the most cryptic steps for something that's supposed to help.
The bug you're talking about is weird, I've definitely seen it but I don't know why it happens. It's not *thaat* big of a deal, especially since you knew what materials you actually needed.
Nice little puzzle game - the combining items mechanic was clever and not something you see often. It took me a little while to realize that there were multiple ways to work with what I started with (game jam games often really only have one path; it's not a bad thing, just not what I expected!) Thanks for an interesting game!
Interesting game, kept me playing until the end but I had to use the guide to understand how to combine items without crushing them. Apart from some minor collision bugs, pushing/holding/throwing items felt very natural. The graphics are pretty and the audio is great. My only issue with the game is that I never felt like I had too many items, I think the room could have been a bit smaller to counter this.
Solid entry, I enjoyed it a lot!
Interesting, clever game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2J0D0dmydc
I really like this game. I saw it early on on twitter and now I'm finally getting around to playing the game =) The graphics are great and the music is nice as well and doesn't get annoying after playing for a while. I like the mechanics of the game as well but I have to admit, I would have been helpless without the walkthrough. Without it I hadn't figured out that you can combine items by stacking them.
