Hey just a heads up, the download link does not work i think. Would love to player your game once i can. Should be a simple fix^^
I was getting bored i had nothing to do i was close to finish my life then someone told me about this game...... it came to my life, i got excited in a sec...... it gave me a new purpose to live.... which was.... deleveringggg theee newsspaperrrrr!!!!!...... now i can live better... thanks to Qasim Tariq for this gift......
Same issue as Heuser, I'm on Linux and I cannot unzip the archive at all (even if the game is for Windows, it's worth trying because Wine may be able to run it). I may try again on Windows later.
The link should be working now. sorry for the inconvenience. just in case it still doesn't work here is the itch.io link:https://qasimtariq.itch.io/instant-delivery
Game works for me. I like the way it looks! Quite charming
OK, remember you can add an itch.io link too. Add one entry for every supported platform (in this case, just Windows)
So much bloom :D Nice game congratz!
This game was pretty solid! Any game that diverts your attention between 2 or more tasks that require the same level of attention is a fun idea. A couple points of criticism though. First of all the title screen does not scale to your display size. I have a 768p monitor and not only did it crop the title screen image but the mechanical button didn't line up with the button graphic.Screenshot from 2023-05-02 21-38-21.png
Also there was nothing preventing me from just spamming both package throwing buttons and focusing my attention on driving.
@drazil100 The game can definitely use balancing. Scaling the UI with the screen is also a one-click thing. My laptop's GPU fan broke down and I was barely able to finish submitting the game in time. I will update the project as soon as my laptop gets fixed.
Nice little game! Worked well for me, but I was able to keep going forever on the right side of the road. Not sure why but there was no car coming in on that lane.
@retrific thanks for the feedback. In the next update, the incoming traffic will increase (different difficulty options will be added). Also based on difficulty the players will lose more points when the package hits the car.
Good work! Style in simplicity :) My one piece of advice would be to look into making the audio a bit less loud, it's a little startling when starting the game haha. Otherwise, nice entry!
Gets a little monotonous. The deliveries and scoring felt more like an afterthought, since you don't actually need to do them to keep playing. Regardless of that though, this is a fine first jam game.
I love the art and the minimal aesthetic. Reminds me of my childhood. This was fun to play and the music was interesting. This is the kind of game I will play in my spare time. Because it's challenging, fun and interactive. Great job!!
I find it really weird that the other cars don't feel like they are moving... still, considering the fact that you made the graphics this isn't too bad for a first attempt!
Also don't forget to check my game out if you can!
I did feel a bit like I was cheesing it by delivering multiple packages per house
I found it a little hard to enjoy with the rightmost lane not sending cars. It felt hard to play fair. I did like the aesthetic and the idea.
This is really well scoped and a good entry for your first jam - especially as a solo dev.
Aside from what has been mentioned, I think you are just a step away from an engaging gameplay loop. Maybe something like making packages appear as pickups on the road that you need to keep stocked up on - that would force the player into traffic more and from there you could layer in additional enemies and even player abilities pickups (invincibility, projectile, etc.). Mixing that chaos into your left/right throwing system sounds like a blast to me.
Regardless, you pushed through and submitted a game - good work!
I have updated the game. The game now has different difficulties and the ui now scales with your screen.
