Wow. That was unbelievably cool. Thank you so much for making this, I don't think I've experienced something like it before. And it all felt like a rainy day. Excellent work.
That was a very cool game and idea. I loved it. Only complaint is that I wish the lightning flashes were a little bit longer so I could see more of what was going on. However, using the rain to *see* was really cool too.
This is super neat! I really love the effect. I was totally engrossed. Well done!
Very cool and unique! Definitely needs to be experienced.
roman9: i think so? it works for me and the other commenters.
paradxil: yeah, i tried to make it a little longer but my code was bad (it got really laggy) and i didn't have the time to fix that… also i wanted to add the flashes only as a last resort to not get completely lost, because the idea was to use the rain of course. that's why i added the "only once per 5 seconds" rule :)
The sound was pretty spooky and I enjoyed the experience.
SUPER innovative. Also terrifying in the dark with headphones on, haha.
Not quite sure what was happening. Love the concept and the mystery. Can't wait to see if you do more with this!
A very fascinating experience! I loved the "seeing the contours with falling rain" mechanic, and the rain animations felt very natural.
A single suggestion would be to use another button for the "lightning". Not all browsers "consume" the shift-event, and so hitting shift repeatedly can trigger the "Ease of Access" popup on Windows (tearing the player right out of the experience).
Somnium: thanks! Yeah i think a lot of us forgot this this time when they were tricked by the theme to somehow use the shift key… maybe i'll quickly add another key you can press instead later so it's more accessible.
Very original concept. I really liked it.
That was an awesome experience, thanks for making it! I coudln't really figure out what happened, my best guess: A child woke up from a nightmare, then got out of the house and played with a cat... Anyway, it's a promising game mechanic!
@blinry: hmm i guess i'll not comment on that, as it's kind of the point to try to figure things out and interpret it :) Thanks!
(If one really has to know what _i_ thought i did, one could look into the source's variable names and images)
The look and feel of this game is AMAZING!
It reminds me a little bit of "beyond eyes" but in a totally different way.
It might be the most original game in this gamejam and I hope you make a full game out of this.
- beautiful 11/10 -
I was already totally hyped about the rain mechanic during development. But still you managed to exceed all my expectations.
Great work :)
Wow, that was rather interesting and unique. I'm not quite sure what the story was, but definitely a neat idea!
Really innovative!!! Great use of sound and graphics.
It surely is not a game, but it is definitely a true experience!
Also thanks for posting your Entry in my Post :P...
(Else I would have missed out)
I really appreciate this very much!
Fantastic concept. Would have loved to see more
good game, while raindrop shoot the sky is a little strange...
Very cool and innovative! Though I don't quite grasp what's going on ^^; Graphics and audio are great too!
Anyways congrats on your entry!
neat effect!
Dang, that is some cool stuffs. More an story than a game but it looked really cool that is for sure. could maybe have added some more game elements, but I really liked it nonetheless.
Really potent atmosphere. The graphics and audio were fantastic. Loved it!
i really enjoy the mystery and the audio. it's a fun game.
Great film - style game, with a unique visual experience :D
Nice idea.I loved the sounds (especialy the rain sounds) and the fact that there was a being when you hit the shift button seeing all the area.
Loved the concept of it (although I couldn't really see how it fits the theme) this could definitely become something great!
Not sure how to really control the rain or to what end. Sound is effective.
@Odissey: I guess i shouldn't have to defend myself, but most people already voted anyway so i can at least tell you what my thoughts were regarding the theme.
I have the theme in the game on two different levels:
First in the overall concept: You can't see things themself you can just see shaped outlines which are shifting through the rain.
The second level is (quite plainly, or so i thought) the story itself. But as i said here before, i don't want to tell exactly what i did with that, as it is about seeing these shadows of a story and interpreting them yourself :)
Great work, loved this. Really stood out as special.
