well done, guys, the soundtrack suits the game perfectly, the control-changing thing is pretty cool. And nice animations too, it is nice to see what can be achieved with a handful of pixels =]

2016-04-18 04:58

Thanks Rafa! Glad you enjoyed it :)

insality 2016-04-18 07:51

Soundtrack and the gameitself perfectly feels together. Its nice atmosphere!
mechanic is strange, but it was interesting to play! Good entry, nice job

asturk 2016-04-18 12:21

Well, you all done a great job there! I really like the game, mainly by its graphics (although i think the enemies one is missing) the mood and the audio in it. I just think maybe you should try to balance a little more, making the enemies a little more slower perhaps...But all this was a vert good concept for this game and theme, nice job!

2016-04-18 12:43

Hello Asturk, thanks for the feedback! Weirdly, the WebGL version seems to have bugged the enemies animation. I'll check on that.
The Mac and Windows versions appear to be correct at the moment.

Happy that you liked it! We are evaluating the balancing of the game (and that's a tough call).

matmortatti 2016-04-18 15:41

Hey, thanks you all for the feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the game! :)

ryannielson 2016-04-18 20:35

I love the style, it looks and sounds fantastic. The mechanics are a bit strange, but I think they work well. It's great how much you could fit within such a small screen.

danman9914 2016-04-18 21:35

Interesting mechanic and very nice presentation. Good stuff.

wg_phancock 2016-04-19 04:44

At first the controls made me very confused, and then once I figured out what was going on it was pretty fun. Frantically trying to move my fingers around to get away...great mechanic. Would be interesting to see some more enemy types or something.

Art and presentation is very well done. Great mood.

magnesiumninja 2016-04-19 04:58

Nicely done! I love the atmosphere and the theme is very well implemented.

rfgpfeiffer 2016-04-19 08:34

There is a link that says web, but it does not allow me to play in the browser. It seems you took down the webGL build. Now there are no downloads for Linux.

bubsypoochies 2016-04-19 11:13

Love the atmosphere :D controls were a bit tough at the beginning but that's the game part right? :) good job!

redpillgamedev 2016-04-19 12:35

Nice work man....Great game, I love the game atmosphere!

glaze_96 2016-04-19 13:50

Wow! You really nailed the atmosphere!

I could only survive for 35 seconds, the longest. Haha!

Love the control changing mechanic, got so me so freaking confused!

Overall, great game and idea!

Also - Remember to delete the .pdb files next time. They're not needed and makes the downloading time so much longer =)

saulodaniel 2016-04-19 14:30

I found the very cool game. The pixel art was very beautiful and the mechanics and quite pleasant.

orion_black 2016-04-19 14:35

Nice sprite work and music. You made me wonder, is this azerty and dvorak friendly?

thomastc 2016-04-19 16:56

There's something ironic about downloading 51 MB for 4096 mostly monochrome pixels :)

david-cookie 2016-04-19 17:20

Great graphics & audio, original concept (it took me a while to really understand but it was quite fun when I eventually realize ^^). Very good entry, GG!

josearias 2016-04-19 18:05

Arg, only 53 seconds

Nice game. I really enjoyed it. Example of how a simple mechanic can be challenging. Great Job.

I was going to say about the pdb but glaze already said it :P

banana-hammers 2016-04-19 18:56

Interesting mechanic, I admit it caught me off-guard at first. I did tire of it rather easily, though... didn't help that shrubs sometimes form an almost solid wall, trapping you against incoming angry villagers. It doesn't help that the screen is so small.
But it was an interesting one to play, great work!
Cheers,
Matei (BananaHammers Team)

joemid 2016-04-20 04:23

Love the opening song! Cool graphics!!!

andyman404 2016-04-20 04:48

Very interesting use of the theme, shifting the controls while shifting the character. Lovely pixel art and atmosphere. Great title screen. I appreciate the precious time that takes to make. Well done!

2bit 2016-04-20 05:34

Very nice. Loved the music and the visuals and really loved the changing controls. Great idea and great execution.

flygamer101 2016-04-20 11:59

Damm this is actually really fun. First off:

The graphics were exceptional! As well as the animations. The gameplay was challenging at first, but I learned and was really fun. Also, the soundtrack was awesome! It helped to maintain that 8-bit atmosphere. kept me occupied for a while.

matmortatti 2016-04-20 13:50

We've fixed the Windows version! No more debug files haha :D 51mb download not anymore! Thanks for the feedback :)

2016-04-20 17:01

i got 181 points, so pro, wow

anaguilefdez 2016-04-21 08:35

Graphics and audio creates a great ambient, it suits a lot the game. Mechanic idea is very innovative.

okoto 2016-04-21 15:43

The mechanical keyboard is very funny , simple but very well done . Art is also very good , congratulations.

torcado194 2016-04-21 17:44

interesting idea! really fun to play, but i would like some other goal rather than just time. nice graphics too

pirate_shell 2016-04-21 19:36

So the mood in this entry was fantastic. The old horror classic black and white look worked superbly and the soundtrack was energetic yet fitting. The mechanics were really simple, or should I say 'mechanic'. The whole switch around of controls was confusing at first, but then I understood the idea behind it perfectly. It was really quite easy to grasp, but compelling as you had the pressure of multitasking avoiding enemies and having to keep an eye out for the next set of controls. I really found that feeling compelling but also really really hard. That's my main issue. Perhaps a bit of balancing will fix it, as having so many things to juggle really is a lot to take in. Maybe I just suck (I do). Other than that, simple yet well executed entry!

rayman1900 2016-04-22 17:02

After I've changed into a wolf, I return to a human form, but I still get hunted down. Is that intended ? Otherwise, really good and athmostheric game overall !

Though I had a little bit of trouble reading the key I had to press on screen, something a letter was displaying a lot like another letter and it confused me.

vini60 2016-04-22 22:49

Very hard game. I like the art style. Great submit.

kaovhmf 2016-04-23 04:01

Nice game! The art and the music fit perfectly and the mechanic is quite interesting. Gotta say I had tons of trouble on figuring out that I needed to look for new control bindings and the fact that they dont come in T form broke my mind a bit.

dssiege11 2016-04-23 11:14

It's a cool original idea but there is one problem with it: it doesn't work properly for people without a QWERTY layout (like me)...

I don't know if there is some way to make it work for all keyboard layouts or have a choice what keyboard layout you have at the start that, would be nice!

Apart from that it looked and sounded really nice so good job on that :)

gfm 2016-04-23 15:25

The mechanic was quite interesting, but I found the font somewhat hard to read... 'Q' and 'Y' were the letters that took me the most to get used to. Because of that, I was unsure, for sometime, whether the keys did actually always neighbor each other.

The graphics and audio are pretty good and suited each other greatly!

Well done! :)

P.S.: The Linux build didn't work on my Ubuntu 14.04 64 bits. But I didn't look into it, since I simply played it on Windows, afterward...

2016-04-23 16:53

@DSSiege11 hello! Dev here.

Indeed, the game was designed with QWERTY layouts in mind.
It is possible to play with other layouts, though it will be harder because the keys won't necessarily neighbor each other. We will have a look into that to support everyone equally :)

@GFM Oh, the font causes some trouble sometimes (I couldn't differentiate 'I' from 'J' myself). It was, however, the best option we found of the pixelated ones - the others we tested were even more confusing!
It would be really interesting, maybe, to design our own font in future versions of the game. Let's see how it goes.

We would like to thank everyone for the feedback. We are really happy about it :)

rfgpfeiffer 2016-04-23 17:12

Interesting take on the shape-shifting. Makes being a werewolf feel weird & alien instead of powerful!

wolves-direwolf 2016-04-24 17:36

Cool atmosphere and mood. Sound effects were great too!

aaranos 2016-04-25 03:48

Nice concept. Not a lot of context to go with it though.

rburema 2016-04-27 12:41

Rocking out to the title-screen :-)

derr 2016-04-30 15:39

Great job on the audio and the athmosphere! The mechanic was a bit confusing at first (I admit it, I skipped one or two lines of your description ;P) but once I finally got it, I had a lot of fun. :)

rock-eaters 2016-05-01 07:18

it looks really good

dinnerinthedark 2016-05-01 18:30

Challenging and nice atmosphere!

pixelpotions 2016-05-06 12:43

Awesome game, love the mechanics and the sound! The letters were sometimes hard to read but that's unavoidable in that resolution. Good job!

thecain 2016-05-08 03:03

I only got to 52 seconds (I'm assuming it's endless so I didn't try harder).
Very interesting, I really wasn't expecting that.

radmars 2016-05-08 17:43

Nice! Great style & concept. Still a bit confused about the mechanics though, is running away really the only thing you can do? Shouldn't I be able to eat people if I'm a horrific beast? :P Also you seem to be slower than the people when you're in human form which makes it actually impossible to get away. Still, pretty fun. Nice work!

tonbery 2016-05-08 18:20

Nice atmosphere!

I'm not a big fan of control change games but I really get some fun playing this game :)

Good work!
