This is admittedly one of my favorite takes on the theme that I've seen. It's pretty hilarious, and actually genius at the same time! While not every game here was great, you were able to experiment with a bunch of small concepts that allowed for a good variety. Some of my favorites were Orbit, Fire, Rock Sim, and even Virtuaman. While I didn't play any of the games for very long, I made sure to play every game at least once, and I was amazed by the polish that every game had. Some even had more depth than I expected. I'm actually pretty curious to see how it ranks overall, because while nothing is particularly impressive by itself, it's an incredible feat once put together. Amazing job!
That is extraordinary. Well done!
You're crazy =) Great work!

Nice job! The games are quite well done, look nice and feel nice! This is a quite fun entry!
On the down side: I'm not sure on what to think about how much does this entry actually fills the theme. Sure, there are "more" games, but I don't really think they are "worse" because of being more. The proof is obvious: they are good games; I don't see anything that got "worse". Of course, I'm not saying that you should've done mediocre games instead! All in all, I really enjoyed this.

Really like your take on the theme. well done. Its amazing you manage to make that many games in such time. Keep Going!
I LOVED THIS. All the game's were awesome. Some of them even had a semi-musical rhythm to them.

Really good ! Almost all the games are fun. The graphics, sound effects and retro gameplay give a very consistent feel. I have no idea how you managed to do all this in 48 hours O_o".
Given the context of this game I don't really have anything to suggest for once ^^". Good job !
Those effects were crazy good, I had lots of fun playing all those different things :)
Wow! That was a lot of games! A lot of them feel like what other people could make if they were focused on just one game.

Haha, this is great. The explosions that end each game are my favorite part. There were a couple that were broken (pseudosnake in particular) and I couldn't get the pet one to work at all. I think it might be because I was playing the web version. Hilarious entry. Really impressed.
@handle Thank you!
What issues did you have with the pet one and pseudosnake? They work fine for me in the web version.
Very fun and relaxing. You did a good job. Is it possible to return to the game selection screen without reloading the page?

Incredible! Really nice, consistent visual style, reminiscent to the original games yet modern, __very__ effective use of particle effects, all the games I've played so far are really well executed and balanced. Now all that's missing is 24 different music tracks ;) I'd love to have this as a mobile app, with online leaderboards in all the different games!
For 48 hours, you did insanely well.
PS: I liked the simplicity of "c what i mean" a lot, but please have mercy for QWERTZ keyboards... ;)
Well, cannot say I expected this! One of the best ways to use the theme I have seen this far.

Why aren't there more games where you play as a ghost? 5 stars.
This is impressive work, you crazy crazy person. Loads of particles flying everywhere, each game is super simple to play (although the controls aren't clear on some. Also high scores don't save on the web version.
Kudos for actually managing to finish this! Great take on the theme :D

A crazy achievement for sure. Vader was my favorite. I'm always amazed about your skills in getting game feel right even if the graphics are minimalistic.
My pet died right in the beginning and I can't even get it back to life by restarting the game :(
All in all a very unique take on the theme. I just wish the games were more than their parts. There could be something that binds them together, like an achievement you have to get in each of the subgames to finish the overall game. Or maybe I'm missing something.
@king-kujito You can press escape to get back to the menu.
@cerno-b To revive the pet, press button 0
@gamepopper Which browser are you using? High scores in browsers work for me (in firefox quantum)

Really funny and well-executed. All of the homages felt as good as the originals. And it looks great. I played Loan Shark the most. Aww Chute reminded me of Ganja Farmer, is that the reference? Also, is Cardinal an homage? I assume but don't recognize it. It's satisfying.
wow. this is quite an achievment and the best use of theme i've seen. Good work.
When I heard your idea I didn't think it'd be possible for it to work out and be good (no offense to you, just 24 games in 48 hours still seems unimaginable to me).
I have never been more happy to be wrong.

This is so incredibly impressive, making this many games in 48 hours. All of them are super polished, and i love the art style and sound design. I have no complaints. all of the games are great. nice job!
Awesome use of theme!
Phenomenal. The two background games really kept this from being "just" a list of 24 games (a feat in itself), since I was constantly thinking of both of them as I played the others. (Especially once I noticed Virtuaman's energy running along the bottom.) You're really inspiring me to step up my OneHourGameJam skills.

This is one of the best compo entries I've ever seen. I think it not only fits the theme, but is a brilliant and creative undertaking in and of itself. The games were each polished and extremely well done. I can't think of anything more to write but: Daaaaaamn. Well Done.
Was laughing out loud at the sheer idea of it alone, yet the game actually came out better than some individual games this year. Well done.

Really nice game, well done ! Death effects always made me laught ;)
Awesome job!! Just following along with your regular "Xth Game Done!" posts was fun, but actually playing it is pretty cool as well.
Graphics and sound do their job, as always, but I love that you decided on such a silly (?) and in my opinion really overambitious concept. I guess all those onehourgamejams finally paid off
Another cool entry, as expected
Wario Ware Ludum dare version hahaha The idea is absolutely brilliant - a great interpretation on the theme! Congratulations :D

Nice take on the theme! The pixel graphics work really well, care to tell us which engine you used? Sounds are fitting. The individual games didn't manage to capture my attention for very long, though. Maybe I would have liked less, but more interesting games :)
Waste of time: "Current number: Undef" - is that a bug? I also don't have a virtuaman, the title says undefined, and the landscape is empty.
@blinry What browser / os version / etc are you using?
blinry
2017-12-05 15:13
@terracottafrog I was using the web version in Chromium 62.0.3202.94, running on an up-to-date Arch Linux.
@blinry I probably should have tested in chrome before releasing, shouldn't I have? :P
@blinry Should be fixed now. Thanks for the help!
@handle @cerno-b The bugs with the pet game should be fixed now. It had something to do with gamemaker's html5 export handling undefined values differently from the windows one.

So torn! I really like this as a collection, and there are a couple really cool games in here, but overall, like you're trying to prove that your games are getting worse as you make more? Lol in a way that worked :)
The effort is amazing and I appreciate the amount of work and thought :)
Technically though, I can't believe a game this tiny lags THIS much. So, so much lag. I played the chrome web build, I'm on a mac. And I would say sacrifice particle effects to get the game to play well enough.
Also I feel like some of the games simply dragged on. Cardinal, racing car, etc. By you not booting the player out quickly (or the game being hard enough to boot them out quickly enough) you leave the opportunity for the player to actually get bored. So I think the warioware approach to this is prudent - end each of the mini games sooner than later, one way or the other.
Then, a minor but I think important thing, putting virtuaman first means that a lot of people would not read (a lot of people do not read and it's noone's fault, it's just how it goes) and would go straight in and think your game's broken because the game does nothing, even after reading "oh these are the controls". At least make virtuaman react in some way to key inputs and say "hey man I'm just chilling" "quit to play a real game" or something.
Cool stuff :)

Interesting approach to the theme! I played some of the games and I really liked the designs, congratulations to the work.
Interessante abordagem ao tema! Joguei alguns dos jogos e gostei bastante dos designs, parabéns pelo trabalho.
Awesome idea. Great work, nice pixel art and explosions. My top 5 favorite games were: aww chute, amok, rock sim, loan shark and star salmon.
I'm impressed and this was awesome haha I don't give 5 stars to the theme because it didn't get worse, sorry ;D

I love this so much! I love the feeling of checking out each new game, being somewhat aware of what might happen and yet not at all. Loved the consistent style throughout as well.
Nice challenge for a compo ! Good work !

Ok that's hilarious haha. Most meta take of the theme by far. The games themself are simple but charming, and the art style is consistent throughout. Very well put together, well done! :)
For you intending them to be bad, they're pretty good. :D
One of my favorite Ludum dare game. It's really great.
Cool take on the theme. Frantic and chaotic, still fun to play. Been playing for a long time now! :D

That is extraordinary. Well done!
What is this, Action 24? (Yeah, AVGN reference.)
Oh dear, that's quite the interpretation of the theme. You made it worse for yourself instead of us! I thank you for that.
So as a quick note, I played the web version first, and there are issues there. Virtual Man just doesn't work, neither does clicker. High scores don't save. So I switched back over to the windows version which does work better. The games are nice, and while the aesthetic is simple, the uniformity across the 20 games makes it very cohesive. I also love the gratuitous explosions you've put throughout the games. It really makes the games pop much more than you would think.
I think the one thing I wound suggest to add is to have some form of communal score tally so that your score is the sum of all scores. This would require some balance on the game scores but shouldn't be too bad.
Also Lander... I hate that game. I am so bad.

Really impressed by this selection of game, almost every game is fun on it's own but all of them together made in only 48 hours is really impressive to me. The sound was at times a little jarring and I didn't get the "virtuaman" and "waste of time" games working (both said `undefined` in the ui). Overall really awesome take on the theme.

My favorite: Cardinal; Rock Sim; What a Bomber; Presudo Snake.
@fakeyou Thanks for reporting the bug. This only happens the first time you run it. I thought i fixed it but apparently not. The windows version should work fine.
interesting idea. great collection.i also tried to upload html5 using gms it was bugged.anyway great work.

How anyone questions this fitting the theme is beyond me. This was funny. My pet died while I was busy protecting houses from paratroopers.
Fantastic idea. I love stuff like this. Most of those games are actually pretty good despite your use of the theme haha. Good job!

Well i have to give it to you. THere is a seperate jam going inside your game. No could think of a the theme likw you did. I felt like i was playing 90s nintendo..
crazy take on the theme, love it. I liked the consistent crazy particles and over the top death between games. Got distracted with the games and forgot to feed my pet, felt guilty :sob:

Excellent idea and use of the theme, as it's been said it's very likely reminding of the G&W era... Smooth particle effects/explosions/screenshakes makes it fun and pleasant despite the over-used old school gameplays, amount of games keep you busy for a while even if you don't like one :p Good job, great interpretation of the theme ! Cheers!
This is brilliant, loved the way you used the theme and how much you were able to pull off in such a short time. Can't even get my head around the programming for all that. Enjoyed trying the different games and seeing what each one was. Was a nice take on some classic retro games. Favourite entry so far this jam. Congrats.
you are crazy, can't believe that you really done this. I'd never thought that you made every of this games in only 2h
It's cool to see so many mini games made with the same aesthetic for one game jam. I'm not sure how having a lot of games applies to the theme. Most of the games were solid, but it seems like a lot of them could go on forever unless I intentionally killed myself. Maybe make it so that you use the points earned from the mini-games to feed your virtual pet, so it ties everything together. This game also reminds me of when people ask me about starting game development. I always tell them to start out by making a bunch of small games, which this entry does a great job of demonstrating.

2017-12-17 08:10
First of all, this is extremely impressive, and you have both a lot of mechanics and a lot of polish. Most of the games felt pretty well balanced, and they had increasing difficulty so that I can't just go forever. I made sure to try every game at least once.
You might want to remove the 'web' link from the entry since you removed the web version.
* The time between losing and restarting is a bit long (Though I found that esc + enter is very fast) * It took me a while to figure out virtuaman (the bar on the bottom of the screen) * I didn't get any points in Take a Brick despite clearing every brick on the screen * I want to go left and right in the list of games * I tried to go off the bottom of the screen in Amok and died (I guess I was supposed to go right, but the whole screen was black)

Awesome entry. I love the meta interpretation of the theme :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Probably the best one I've seen so far. Moreover, the game feels really nice to players, every game is simple, challenging, and more or less well balanced. You did a very impressive job.
I played it with my brother, 3 rounds each game fighting for the best score, and we had tons of fun. Thank you for this game, mate

Interesting game, but I tend to play more in games where you can make money. I play here https://gg199.bet/en/live. I recommend this particular platform. Because here for beginners, there are cool bonuses. But they also do not forget about regular players and delight us FreeSpins. Live casinos are fun and interesting. And withdrawal of funds is almost instant on ggbet
