I like the music and art style, though I got stuck at the level with the red wall. I wasn't quite sure how to get past it, or if it was a bug. Otherwise, nice work!

@frosty Thanks for the feedback! It's possible but I think I made it a bit too hard to get the solution. I won't spoil it for anyone else though.
Do you have a Linux/WebGL version?
I like the mechanic here! I managed to get stuck at an earlier level, where the blue wall first appears. Both of my characters died to the flame, and I wasn't respawning.
@mertios Unfortunately I don't have a WebGL version sorry. And since the time for submissions is up I can't make one.
@svntax Thanks! That's really weird. If both died the level should just reset. I'll take a look. Thanks for trying the game out though!
I loved the game and I completed it without too many problems. The second last level however, was a nightmare. I knew what to do, but it was frustrating. You can't jump whilst your feet are on an edge and this made for some serious problems in that level. By contrast, the one after it with four characters was ridiculously simple. Maybe next time consider the difficulty curve, as I believe the last level would have been a better way of introducing multiple characters. This last level was simple and everything was obvious, whilst in the second last level, the green character was hidden out of sight, making it easy to get stuck. I liked that when swapped, the other characters were frozen, it made for some interesting puzzles. Overall awesome graphics and soundtrack, wish the game could have been longer.
@justcamh Thank you for all the feedback! I'm glad someone managed to finish it, I was a bit worried the difficulty was too high. I also had more trouble on the second to last level when testing, I probably should have swapped them but I was furiously working out bugs at the end. I also wish I could've had more time to add more levels, since this was my first game jam I didn't organize my time very well and I only devoted the last day for level creation, debugging, and publishing. That was a huge mistake and I will definitely learn from that in my next game jam!
@eddie-li Really? You are not modifying the game, you are just making it more accessible.
Really clever mechanics! I enjoyed it a lot! Liked the music too! The difficulty was right for me.
I liked it a lot!, it's a great idea and it fits perfectly to the theme.
That was fun! Great job! I really dig the pixel art. C:
@mertios I'm entirely new to game jams in general, I'm not sure. Is it allowed to create a web version after the submission time period?
@elipson @deadpotato Thanks! :)
Nice game, i like how you build your puzzles. I like the minimalist pixel style and the music. As a player, i would like a more progressive difficulty. And i got stuck sometime, force to relaunche the game and pass through the first levels.:)
@clerg0 Thanks! But I'm pretty sure you can just press r to restart a level. There's no need to relaunch
A cool little experience that is surprisingly challenging. The music is top-notch! The player does tends to refuse to jump while at an edge. Maybe it's not detecting the floor properly?
Great stuff nonetheless!
@mertios Yeah, sure you can. As long as you don't change the game itself in any visible way.
Oh my god, I just had to finish this game! That last level ate up every ounce of patience. But I made it! time 1906
I have to say this was super addictive and I loved the time stop mechanics.
@salierus Thanks! And yeah the floor detection was originally a bug that has to do with the way I implemented it, but then decided to leave it in as a "feature" that makes it more difficult.
Really liked the concept and the game explored it well. However I did not beat it, I got frustrated at the first part where you have 4 characters. It becomes hard to remember all the steps to do in order and making one mistake would undo everything. It'd be nice to know which color will be the next one and maybe not a camera cut but the camera translating over to the next selection, or maybe a pause before you even get to move while in the air. It's annoying to anticipate a jump you cannot see when trying to swap past a character you don't want to die just yet. I think the design of the last level is fine, just that the way the overall game works hurt it for me.
Overall, great work.
I think I've found the bug @svntax was talking about: I got stuck in the same level and I tried a lot of things and one of them was swapping characters when one of them was on fire. Let's name characters A and B. I jumped with A into fire and clicked Space. A disappeared. I clicked Space again; B was deactivated (as if A was somewhere around). I clicked Space again to unblock B. I jumped into fire with B and clicked Space and then Space again; B died, but the level didn't reset itself (probably game didn't think A is dead).
Btw I got stuck in this level and I don't know how to proceed. If you want, you could make let's plays/walktroughs or just screenshots with hints, especially if you know the game is hard. It will help others play it to the end without getting stuck. Usually with professional game you don't need to do that because level design is (in theory) good enough to not require such things. But because it's a jam it's understandable that there are some details missed and strangers coming to play your game could get confused even when you think it's easy, because you made this game and others didn't.
I won't rate your game today since I played only two levels, but I like it for now, so I'll try again to beat this level tomorrow.
@tiar Thanks for taking the time to play the game! I just finished a speedrun of my game for a little fun. I'll post it and link it here as a walkthrough of sorts.
Clever design, remind me of Thomas was alone. 5/5 theme. Maybe next time make levels a little bit tighter. You have an idea on how to make cool puzzle, well done.
Liked the puzzle design a lot and was able to complete it! I had trouble with knowing when I could jump and died a lot from barely touching the fire.
Awesome interpretation of the theme and innovative gameplay. Game ramped up well in terms difficulty. Nothing felt unfair. Great work!
This was a lot of fun! I've never been a fan of using the up arrow for jumping, though, which made the game a lot harder than it needed to be.
@coda-highland Thanks! But what exactly do you mean by the up arrow? The controls are WASD so assuming you mean W? Sorry about that but I had to make it either W or space and since I ended up using space to switch between characters I used W to jump
@legavroche @eva Thanks for the feedback! The jump detection was originally a bug that I decided to keep as a feature to make the game more difficult. Don't know if that was the best decision but what's done is done.
simply amazing, everything in this game definitely pleased me, very well crafted puzzles, amazing! Good job!
Hah, those puzzles ramp up fast! The red wall took me a minute to figure out. The first one with green took ages, but not because of the puzzle (I actually thought the green block was a great way to hint there was another character you needed to seek out). Rather, the platforming mechanics made it *really* frustrating. I was severely wishing for some [ledge forgiveness](http://kpulv.com/123/Platforming_Ledge_Forgiveness/), or a checkpoint or rewind system. It's tough when you know just what to do and but simply can't pull it off.
But it's a clever game for sure. Good puzzles, lots of promise. I like it!
@relampmarquin @rumor Thanks for the feedback! The ledge forgiveness (or lack of) was originally a bug, then I decided to leave it in as a "feature". The game's tutorial goes over the fact that you can hit R to restart the level, I think a lot of people missed that unfortunately.
Well done, the puzzles were clever and took me a few attempts to get a solution for. Especially the red wall one where I learned about what happens when you switch players in certain situations. (No spoilers!) I initially thought the (blue) fire was for sacrificing only the blue character. The flor bug made the last level very frustrating for me until I learned to stop and jump instead of run and jump. Music is great, art fits well and the puzzles are well done. Nice work.
I love so many things about this game! I love the music especially, the look and feel of the game is also great. I like how you've managed to implement the body double/switching in a way that feels completely original and different from what I've seen in this competition so far!
It's damn fun and I'll have to give a try at completing it later.
@ghostmaple @foodzilla Thanks for the feedback!
Great job. I got through the game with out too much trouble and enjoyed figuring out the puzzles. 2 suggestions, when using wasd I mentally assume space is jump so many times I tried to jump but switched characters. May not be a problem for others but threw me a bit. Also the hit boxes of the characters feels to narrow. you start falling and lose your jump before they are visually separated. Widening the hit boxes a little would help the jumping on each other feel a lot better for me. Again, that is just nit picking because I really like the game. Way to go.
Great game, loved the visuals and the interpretation of the theme! I had a few bugs one of which made me have to restart it :/ but it's all good since you have a web version. Good entry!
Super creative! I think you use perfectly the given theme and your art is nice. Great game. Congrats!
> Thanks! But what exactly do you mean by the up arrow? The controls are WASD so assuming you mean W? Sorry about that but I had to make it either W or space and since I ended up using space to switch between characters I used W to jump
@eddie-li Yeah, I meant W. Why were you limited like that? Unity lets you bind to any keys you like. I actually see this kind of game usually done with arrow keys for movement and Z and X for action buttons.
Very good entry! very creative and addictive! Good job!
WOW the mechanics are amazing!!!!!! loved the action packed puzzle theme! and the simplicity is amazing!!!! No complains here ...
Wow that was some great mechanics and level design! The music and the art were also stellar, great job!! This is definitely my favorite Jam entry so far :)
@coda-highland just personal preference for controls sorry
@theonethatneverwas @meenners @ale thanks for the feedback!
On a side note, does anyone know whether I'm allowed to fix a bug where all I have to do do is check off a public bool in unity? If you're wondering, I made the door a prefab with a public bool of locked not not, it should've been locked in the last level but forgot to check the bool. It makes the last level absurdly easy, it's actually much more difficult than it is, now I know why everyone is saying how the difficulty curve is wacked.
Very nice and original game, very good take on the theme ! Overall its a great game. Not so difficult, just challenging enough and providing intersting levels. Quite nice level design indeed, as with this simple mechanic you introduce so much different uses of it !
Fun game, I like the music alot. Your characters 8-bit design is simple but also totally works. I can totally imagine playing this game on a game boy color. Great job.

Re: bugfixes, the rules have this to say:
> Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players.
Aouch... the smartest mechanics I've seen so far here ! I wish there were more :p I experienced some bugs though, like swaping color as I wasn't pressing space... But it didn't prevent to finish the game :p The before last was the smartest and the hardest :p
This was fun! there can be more experimenting with the switching!! spam switching was fun! wish space was to jump! D:
Clever game, great use of the theme as a mechanic. I loved it!
No idea what too add to the other comments. It's a cool platform puzzeler which realy enjoyed! Well done!
Graphics really remind me of Downwell. It's a good little game, I like it a lot! I have to agree that I mentally couldn't get past space being jump. It made it a lot harder than it otherwise would have but that's mostly on me :)
Smart and creative idea! Really enjoyed it, loved how challenging it was
Congrats!
This was really well made. Great mechanics, perfectly fits the theme, very nice graphics and music, checks all the boxes. A really great outcome for your first jam. At one point it completely froze and I had to kill the process, but it might have been my pc.
Well done!
Your game mechanics (with your level design) are pretty clever! And graphics are also very neat what makes player focus on his (hard) tasks! Good job and good game! And congrats your time, wow! :P
That's some smart level design. There were times the controls felt a bit to precise, like when I try to jump off the ledge, it won't jump and I just fall down. There were times when my character would walk in place and I would have to jump in order to move. But overall I really had fun with this game. Nice work!
When I saw the graphics for the first time I knew I have to play it! Cool idea and it maches theme very nicely! Art is very retro! :) The only drawback is the last level, I played it many many time, but it needed too much precission for me. Eventually I passed it! passed.png
Cool game, just quite hard. Maybe add a button that lets you see the entire level or at least a larger view. Sometimes I would be confused on what to do at the end of a level only to make a small mistake and have to start all over again. Also maybe add a quick transition of the camera from one character to another, quick enough to not disturb game play but I felt it was kind of needed as the camera suddenly snapping to another character was quite disorienting. Overall cool game!
Great game. Very creative. Good job!
The game is simple; I've seen the idea executed before. But I don't think I've seen anyone have the idea of the other actors freezing when one is in control. This leads to interesting solutions to puzzles such as "How do I get across this gap?" Sometimes, the jumps didn't happen when expected, which lead to some frusttration, but the art, gameplay, and level design made up for it. Good work!
I like this idea. Nice work. But I would not like to spend time on the accuracy of jumps )))
Good job. I liked having the players freeze in mid air making me think about where I want them and how to move them. I liked the simple graphics and felt they fit in well with the game.
The game I worked on used a similar player switching mechanic, so it's interesting to see how another game uses the same mechanic.
One problem I had was in trying to jump off the other players. I couldn't get the timing right and kept missing the jump.
I like it. Its definately a game for the thinker. Consider incorporating clues/hints if the player is stuck for a long time.
 I liked the minimal aesthetic that ran through out the game, and you use of the theme was great. Puzzles are always a lot of fun to work out. The way the game thought the central premise was very cool.
:bug: I'm guessing this has to do with your changes to floor detection (I played on the newer WebGL version), but I found that occasionally the player could jump off of the walls, I was unable to reproduce it consistently, but I would guess that the floor detectors got moved to the edge of the character and for a frame the player is slightly clipped into the wall, and can jump as if they were on the ground.
:point_right: I had issues with jump timing when playing. I think the jump detection only tested immediately if the player was on the ground, so I would walk off of ledges a lot (trying to jump at the last second). This is probably a framerate bound issue too :( I feel like you are moving the player and then checking the jump also (occasionally I would hit A and W at the same time -- or close enough -- and would still end up walking off the edge). If you haven't seen it before, I'd recommend looking into "[Platform Ledge Forgiveness](http://kpulv.com/123/Platforming_Ledge_Forgiveness/)." ^_^
:star: Overall good job, and thank you for making this.
Definitely the most fun entry I've played. Great job! Got stuck on the level with the signposts.
Loved the retro art style. Music was perfect. A bit more polish and I'd really enjoy playing this on my phone.
Brilliant puzzles, loving the music, superb entry.
