The graphics were charming.

The graphics were charming.
What a novel concept! And some hilarious writing to boot. Well done Guys!
@sugarbyte @ldurrant Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Great game!! So fun to play through, really excellent graphics. Plus the credits were hilarious! Marriage makes a great team for game jams!
@TayGoS Thanks! And yep, totally agreed about the team thing. :)
Very nice. Well done!
We tried it three times but the third level was just too much for us! We had a good laugh though! :)
I stayed for the whole ending :D A nicely done, well-polished game. Great to see another husband/wife team, keep up the good work!
@Rowdy3 Ha ha, yeah, it's not easy. Especially after playing that many times! Your hand gets tired, lol. (Spoiler, you didn't miss a lot, the Earth is still destroyed in the end, lol.)
@rosypenguin Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It's been amazing to see so many husband/wife teams do this jam. Love it.
@jchaplin Thanks!
Most engaging storyline so far. I have suspicion thath Nell didn't really know what he was doing.
I love the tips in between the game more than the levels themselves. Congratulations! You've truly followed the theme! Clicker Zoo games are a horrible idea :D
That was certainly quite an experience! I'm really glad I played this one; it's silly, funny and just a good time in general. It's been said plenty of times before, but the jokes are wonderful. The whole thing is presented really well, too - I think the art style is perfect for this kind of game (not to mention that it's very clean), and the music was perfect.
Great job! Let's just hope that we can all learn a valuable lesson from this: namely, to never open a zoo for black holes.
I am 59% better than you so i'll give you the worst possible grade A- ! bwahahahahaaha !, it made me giggle a lot, cool game ! :smiley_cat:
@przekop Yeah, seems like he maybe got a little overzealous, ha ha. Glad you enjoyed it!
@K1mpp4 Same! Those little loading screen segments were the most fun to write of all. :)
@Rulrite Thanks for the kind words! So happy to hear you had fun with it. And yes, let's have this be a cautionary tale against making black holes for fun and profit.
@Q-ro Lol, not an A-! That's basically a failing grade! : p
Thanks everybody for playing and rating the game! It means a lot that you all had fun. That's why we do this, after all! :D
Really nice graphics and audio. The humor and dialog was the best I've played so far, and that really kept me progressing in the game. I think a bit more variety in the gameplay and you'd have something special. Great work!
Wow! You had to see the smile on my face when playing it. At first I did not like the excess of dialogue but you sold me on it. I laughed so much when the "tutorial part" was over and it switched from a easy game to a hard one. And the characters were on point.
Games are supposed to be fun and yours 100% was a lot of fun. REALLY GOD JOB!
This is the first game I see where I can finally give a good humor rate. Really enjoyed that, good job!
@legavroche Thanks! Yep, we wanted to do more variety in the gameplay but that pesky 3-day deadline wrecked some initial plans, ha ha. It happens! Originally when the black holes started sucking people up you were going to be able to run over and whack them with a Science Broom to stop them before running back to the cookie machine. Maybe some day we can do a full release with those efforts included!
@Albuquerque Thank you! That means a ton to get the feedback that it was fun, because I absolutely agree with you on the "Games are supposed to be fun" mantra. :D On to the next!
I enjoyed this one a lot. Perfect in length for an LD entry and hilarious as well. The gameplay could have been a bit more than just cookie-clicking, but the humor definitively made up for that.
@chriiis88 Yeah, we're working on getting better at actual game-creation so it's not just clicking and dragging for next time! Ha ha, but every day a few more steps in the right direction. :) Thanks for giving the game a try! Glad you enjoyed the humor aspect.
haha the game kept me loling a lot. From the name of "neil" and the things he sais.
Solid entry!
@Rombus So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, too. :)
Finally got to play it! It's sooooo good, and the humour it's just hilarious! Great work with this!
It was a little weird having such great art in the dialogue parts of the game but then the actual gameplay looked very very rough. I am guessing you ran out of time there?
Anyway, good work!
Can I steal your jokes for Forager? lol jk...
Hmm... Holekeeper you say :smirk:
Okay, all jokes aside, sorry for my bad humor, and thanks for your brilliant jokes. Absolutely loved them. If you work on the graphics of the clicker part of the game it's gonna be perfect.
The funniest game I played this Ludum Dare! Seriously, I laughed out loud not once, but constantly! It's really amazing, just add a little music for the dialogue parts and maybe better graphics for the zoo part and you have a browser game for the ages! The third zoo level really pushed me to my limits, but I did manage it - I think you owe me a new index finger tendon now, haha. You're welcome for me watching the credits! Sorry for creeping you out, though.
Have a fish for your awesome little game <3 🐟
@HopFrog Hooray! Glad you finally got to play it and enjoyed it. Yes, the Zoo part was being constantly worked on on the programming end, so the art side (JK, me writing this right now) spent most of the time work on the characters and cutscenes, ha ha. Next time we'll balance a little better! :) (Also you're welcome to steal any of the jokes. Or heck, just point people over to Weekend Panda games and we'll call it even!)
@Annie Owl Sounds good, after we complete our next full mobile game we're working on now maybe we'll revisit this one and jazz up the clicker-graphics!
@Beebo Studios Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, that last level can be taxing on the ol' clicking-finger. By the end we were exhausted from play-testing so we weren't sure how hard the final level was since we were so tired, ha ha. But I was adamant that it be a LEAST hard enough that some of the guests would get sucked into the black holes, darn it!
I'm a little suspicious of this Bison guy. Sure he's gregarious enough, but, I mean, CAN a black hole fall off a truck?? Something's fishy here...
Reservations aside, I fed some black holes as he requested, and it seemed to have worked at teaching the crowd science. They "oohed" and "ahhhed" with quite some vigor. So they must have been paying attention and learning... something.
Sadly, it was the last lesson they'll ever learn, as my clicker finger wore out and I was not up to the task of keeping us all safe.
Loved the larger-than-life Zoo boss and his wild antics. The cookie of course played second fiddle to the jokes delivered by over-the-top characters, but I think that was totally the right call in the scope-cutting that always happens in these jams.
Nice job, I got a bunch of laughs out of this one!
@pkenney Yeah, the guy in charge seems a little questionable, though you can't fault his passion I guess! He is really into science. And apparently destroying the Earth. But mostly science! Glad you enjoyed the game! :)
I managed to pick up the controls pretty quick (which I appreciated) I also liked the humour and the art was nice (though I agree with the other comments that it went from nice and polished to a bit "programmer-art-ee" in the zoo parts).
Please can you rate mine if you have a free moment -> https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/what-is-love
This was really fun! I especially enjoyed the conversations and would have loved a couple of extra levels!
Very funny concept, I liked playing. I would like to go to such a zoo :black_circle:
I would be very glad if [you rating my game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand-1) too:mag:
Good job! Cool game!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

I really enjoyed this. The concept was total bananas, and that just made the whole situation funnier. The dialogue was great, you even managed to spin some humour in throughout the credits.
Couldn't find much to criticise. Having audio would make a huge difference though, not only background music but some sort of sound effect when clicking on the machine so I'm hearing something other than my mouse clicking. I also had trouble clicking on the cookie sometimes. Not sure if this was due to issues with the collider, or me just being a bit too frantic when trying to stop those black holes from devouring the world.
@been Thanks for the feedback! Didn't think of doing a noise for clicking the machine itself, that's a good call. Would add a lot I bet! (Confused about the background music comment, though. There is background music. Or do you mean specifically in the cut-scenes? The levels have music that gets more tense as you go.)
My funniest game I rated so far good work I like the sound the guys make when the black hole gets them, level 3 was a bit hard but I beat it, rip earth. My problem though it doesnt follow the theme that well.
Cool game. I found the game play not that engaging, but the dialogues and graphics were awesome. Also, nice credits. Unfortunately sound did not work for me (maybe due to chrome blocking auto playing).
