IT'S SO HARD! I've managed to get up to wendigo, but I still haven't won.
The art style is nice and the music works for the game, though it doesn't really feel like a rhythm game, as playing on the beat isn't really a part of it. It's really hard to focus on both the note hitting section and the top RPG section, so it's nice that there are sound effects for things like when your attack is ready.
idk if it's just me, but the controls also feel really unintuitive. having the four directional arrows lined up vertically just doesn't make sense to my brain and I always mess up L/R arrows, but again, maybe that's just me.
I had fun with it! played it for a while before I could even get to wendigo!

The game is stunning and the mood really works (music + art). And the mixing of the soundtrack (which is really cool) + the sounds of the note is really good too.
The game also feels very complete which is nice (menus, tutorials, different modes).
It is true that the vertical display of the arrows is a bit confusing, but still it's okay. I just feel like the notes should come to you and you should lose health when you get the wrong key instead of the current way things are. I doesn't necessarily needs to be in sync with the music, the flute works by itsel <3, I just would feel more pressure and I'd also be more focused (overall just more fun). The way things are right now is more like "hey you should give some input or you'll die... in like, 5 minutes". Obviously that is only my personal opinion, although I do think the game would be much more intense with automatic scroll. Maybe the game should also pause or at least slowdown for the attacks this way you can both focus on the top and bottom half.
Good job guys ! Could do for a shippable game with a bit of work and maybe a slight redesign of the mechanics.

Weired at first the game is really fun. It has stunning visuals, works fairly intuitivly given the theme, is easy to get into and has a nice ramp up in difficulty. Nicely done.

Really hard for me, but I really love the graphics and the artstyle! Why don't you try mine and rate it, too? Thanks! https://luxgile.itch.io/shooting-mama

Please make a webgl version!
The art style is great, but the gameplay in itself needs some tweaking; I felt like making longer streaks had no rewards at all, it was actually a bad idea to make a streak - maybe a big jump in damage every set number of notes would help. Also missing a long streak is really bad for your morale, a bit of damage dealt anyway would help to swallow it, even if the damage is minimal. And I was really temped to try and repeat those long streaks because I wasn't feeling that much pressure...

A really polished entry! Well done, guys, you should be proud.
The music and visuals are all fantastic - they compliment each other well, and I had fun wondering who my next opponent would be. It seemed a bit of a shame that I had to concentrate on the very bottom-left of the screen; I felt like I was missing out on the graphics you put so much work into (not that the icons/bar don't look nice)!
Another issue was that the battles seemed to last a little too long... I ran out of health right at the very end of level 5, and I was frustrated about having to do so much all over again. Perhaps I'm just slow at pushing the right keys!
All in all, however, I had a lot of fun with this game. I found myself strangely invested in the story, and I played for much longer than I thought I would. I think it's largely in part to the wonderful atmosphere.

The art is gorgeous, I loved the game aesthetics , the puns are hilarious or at least tickled my funny bone, I thing the only thing i don't like was not being able to press 2 keys at the same time, i meant i tried but it always seemed like it didn't work and i either lost my combo or got hit, i get that the instructions said that was the idea of the game but I rather have that ability but have the keys come at a steady pace that seeing the hit coming from a mile away and not being able to do much other that drop the combo or get hit :P.

WOOOOW. The music and the art is so epic. Maybe if you change the font of the text It would impress more, but I enjoyed it a lot. Did you created the patter of notes or is it random? Nice entry men!
Awesome game! Art and sound are so solid they almost rival the spicyness of those puns.

The art and sound is really well done, and a rhythm based 1v1 fighting game is a cool concept. This is my highest rated game yet, but the white nubbit is a jerk and I can't beat him and why am I so bad at this?!

Very nice art ! I was wondering for the keys to move and force me to push at the right time :D
Love the art style! I just got a bit confused in the start since i thought i had to press two keys at the same time.

Awesome! Great music. Interesting concept, though I expected the timing aspect of a proper rhythm game at first, so that threw me off a bit. The controls also were a little confusing - I tried to use a gamepad at first, but I expected up was Y, right was B etc so I got every note wrong and wasn't sure what was going on. Once I properly switched to gamepad mode everything worked though. Gameplay-wise, it was pretty fun, although doing a longer streak (ie putting off the attack) didn't seem to be worth it, which felt a little weird since I mostly just wanted to play those notes! It also wasn't totally clear whether hitting the enemy notes was worth it since they seemed to appear after I took the damage from the attack. Since they were harder to read than the normal notes, it was always a little frustrating and stop-start whenever they came up. Still pretty fun - I got as far as Alooker then gave up :P Nice work!
nice art!

Really game guys, the music got me playing for a very long time xD.
Great Work! 5/5
Rad, fits the theme very well. I am terrible at rhythm games so I'm kind of glad you don't have to hit the keys to a beat for this one. Trying to go as fast as I could to get more damage output was fun. I should try this again some time with a controller.

Awesome job! Loved the artwork and the music (duh!). I may be in the minority here, but I do wish you had to play the music on beat, b/c it sounded a bit weird when I was just mashing the arrow keys as quickly as possible and the rhythm of the song was completely different. Just my 2 cents. Anyway, 5 stars from me!
