The colour palette ITS the key, living for it
This entry is so great!!! Little Sad but great game! Good Work brothers!
nice work!, great story!
The art reminded me a little bit of Earthbound. Kind of charming. Then again, I was evicted. Honestly, I would prefer a game that doesn't relate to our crazy world, but I appreciated the story anyway.
The graphics are astounding
This was really atmospheric and well put together.
The art was cool but I couldn't figure out how to beat the game. Cool game though.
Whole atmosphere was a bit depressing and it was really cool. Story and dialog are well put together. But gameplay part lacks something. Anyway cool game.
This is definitely one of the most polished submissions I've played so far, in terms of visuals and graphics. The story was fairly engaging, and the mood was very well developed. My mother works in a nursing home where there are new Covid cases daily, and I appreciate the attempt to illustrate the frustration and helplessness regarding care for the disease.
This was awesome. I played for a long time, and couldn't quite figure out what triggered dad to die, but I kept playing it just cause I liked the experience of walking around in the space so much, even after exhausting all the dialogue options.
I don't know if it's tired or what, but on my first playthrough it made me cry. lol
Awesome game.:)
Really great game here. The art style was great and it was fun to explore the different endings and possibilities.
Awesome work.
The setting is very sad, but it was interesting to wander around and try different dialog options. Music and art style are also neat! I noticed that music tracks overlap sometimes, when you get the ending and then go to the menu, but that's no big deal. Great work!
@syudzius Thank you! I dug deep into my memories to find this song... The game dev gave me the mission to portrait a melancholic vibe.. i think i got the job done. Playing with my eyes closed i can feel the 80's vibe flowing and gotta say.. honest to god... i cried while making this. My dad is getting old and this whole soundtrack was kinda painfull to make
last thing i wanna live is a real life version of this story hahaha
This is such a great game, Well done!
this is a really awesome game!! the graphics are nice and really compelling, also the music really sets a nice tone for what it is. Obviously it has a sad ambient and tone, but it does deliver, I really liked it, thanks for it!
Amazing art!!!
Absolutely lovely art and color scheme, it has some nice atmosphere, keep up the great job!
The story is a bit dark, but it seems to be a reality for nearly all people living in the states.
What a dark story! ;w;
This game has a moving story, but a sadly realistic one!
The art is amazing!
And the music reflects perfectly the tone of the game
That's a big win!

Nice graphics, the CRT filter makes it stand out even better than it otherwise would. I could only get the eviction and dad death endings, not sure if there are any more. This game could really use with faster walking speed, it is almost a hurdle getting to the necessary dialogues simply because everything is too far apart for the speed you walk at (might be exaggerating due to my peanut attention span, still). Dialogue requires quite some more polish, at least in English (I don't know Portuguese, though good job on being able to write the game for 2 different languages in this timespan).
Very nice story! You guys have created an amazing atmospheric game that have really touched me. Good job!
@730 thanks for you feedback. There are three more endings, [SPOILER ALERT]one more in payment room, one in bank/room4, and another one in cafe.
@Jungle i didn't even know this until now.. and i'm on your team
Ok, so you guys made a game when you never really win. Tried every possible dialogue options and there's always a disgrace waiting for you. Almost feel like real life but with better graphics. Could have at least a hidden stuff where you stole the kid's candy and use it to barricade the hospital or something.
The graphics are really nice and the music complements the atmosphere, giving it the intended sad atmosphere. AND I NOTICED THAT ATHLETIC REFERENCE!
I found a tiny bug when the music sometimes overlap each other when going to menu/endscreen. Minor stuff really.
Congrats on more on jam!
good job Dudes
It's kinda sad how the sanitary system works in america... Why ruin a family's life just because they can't afford a a treatment that should be granted by default for everyone... Oh, you said we are for the game, and not to discuss of politics of a region, of which I know little to nothing about... Sorry about that, pretend that didn't happen...
The game relies on a moody storytelling, and what a mood it gives away... The filter somehow enhanches the saddens of the situation... The music is great too, but for some reasons i find it not too much stunning than the other things...
The only thing that i don't like (and i don't think is intencional) is that if i don't like a choise i made, unless is a major choise, i can just leave the room, re-enter the room and redo the conversation again... But what can i say???
@Marxy 37 Thank you for the feedback. This is my first time making OST for games.. I am interested in doing more, if you ever need any, DM me, soundcloud in bio
The mood and theme on this is pretty much spot on It can't get better, imho. The artwork and the audio is pretty good. It is a simple concept, but very well executed!
I started to play the game, and felt like the content was a little too deep for me right now. But the game design, graphics, sounds and so on were all done very well. As far game design goes, I rate this game pretty high.
Just played! very nice! Probably I will tweet about this in the next day on this page https://twitter.com/Free_IndieGames !
Unfortunately as a Mac user I can't play this. Too bad, screenshots look great! I went ahead and voted on graphics even though I can't experience the rest.
The palette matches the mood perfectly!
Very nice job! Thanks for bringing it by the stream!
oh, wow, how do u do this? its awesome! Like this shader!
Very nice color choices, they did the job well! The graphics overall is quite nice.
In did not appreciate the theme at all, I'm afraid. It's not like we need more reminders of the ongoing pandemic and I don't really like when games get political.
But you did really impressive job on the game. It feels polished and well thought-out. Congrats!
Any chance for a Mac or HTML5 build? I would love to be able to play and rate this game.
@stu we will be working on that.. no promises, tho. Thanks for the interest.
@fabula-rasa I agree with you. we don't need more reminders. Unfortunately, we live in a society
@pushkan its a CRT filter
This is a very sad story
I found the colours and music used suited the sad story in your game really well and helped set the overall mood. The art was nice and co-hesive.
The characters sprite continuously animates even when standing still. This should be an easy fix by checking if the player is moving of not. If not, either set the character to an idle sprite or to one of the frames in the current sprite that most resembles a standing position and set the animating speed to 0. With each room that had a choice, i was able to re-eneter and make my choice again. I think this is ok ifyou want to allow , and then going back to the nurse and saying i wont pay for treatment and my dad then died. This doesn't make sense and completely breaks the immersion.
If you still want players to be able to change their choices, I recommend putting a few more checking in place. Something like, if the player has made the second choice, the first choice is now unavailable. So you would delete the option with the nurse or give her some new dialogue and use the same technique going forward.
Another thing that happened was after a few restarts, there were mulitple instances of the music track playing, this was unbearable and i had to restart the game! Again, a simple of check of, if this music is not already playing, then play this music, should work.
Congrats guys, good job, keep jamming!
Nice theming and bold messaging. You guys didn't really hold back when it came to pointing out the hypocrisies or fallacies with the system. A few people mentioned the walking speed being an issue. While it does get tedious when you're going for all endings, I thought it was really important to have that speed for the first playthrough because it's really important to give the player negative space to think and reflect in. Good entry overall, very cohesive experience.
Great writing and story telling, you should definitely be proud of this.
Keep up the good work and see you next Ludum Dare!
I don't have PC but really love the art style here. Let me know if you het an HTML or mac build!
Amazing game! But to use so hyped theme - it`s such a moveton! There are so many more terrible diseases.
Short and sweet, works properly, nice art. The different endings are cool, though I feel the car ending shouldn't have been considered a "bad" ending. I mean, it's just a car, man. Cool game
That was very cool.
artstyle is great!
Its very atmospheric and sad but well executed! Really love the art, nice job!
Hello, i like your game, really nice graphics. I'm a programmer looking for a graphic designer or a team to team up and maybe work on new games, are you interested?

Amazing game ! Thank you for making it :)
Blown away in particular by your color choices and the scale of everything onscreen, really makes for some beautiful scenes
