I Contemplated the Sun of Limbo by Evilion 2014-04-28T14:03:00
Awesome job! I love the graphics, and the gameplay is so calm... a great game.

Awesome job! I love the graphics, and the gameplay is so calm... a great game.
Respect!
I would be happy if you could put a link to a compiled game somewhere instead of a .love file...
The controls are very weird - they are not chosen good at all. I like the music and graphics though.
I do like this game.
The combat mechanic is interesting and innovative, and the music as well as graphics got you into a more or less scared mood.
I am very impressed. The graphics are beautiful, and the music fits perfectly. You are getting a high voting from me, that's for sure!
This is a great game, although it starts before you even know what's going on - and I wished you could move diagonally.
But the graphics are really good!
@Enzo42: My idea behind all this was "beneath the surface of the cards" ;)
Bit difficult, but anyway, good game!
A really great game! I have nothing bad to say about it. The graphics are great, so is the music, and I just love the gameplay.
I like the interpretation, but the controls are weird - I'd have preferred some mouse usage.
By the way, when I close the game it crashes :D
I like your idea a lot, haven't seen anything similar at all yet. The user interface could use some work though, and the sounds behave strange sometimes. Good job anyway.
That game is great! Very nice for a first entry!
Very innovative game, but the controls are strange.
This is a beautiful game. The music is nice, the graphics are great, and the overall concept + execution could not be much better. Nicely done!
Wow, those particle effects really added to the game! Naa, you don't really suck on art. I wouldn't say that.
Also, I love the animation when you switch the worlds.
Epic idea! Really nice audio, different graphics (good!). Great game!
Great game! A lot of fun, nice graphics and wonderful music. Good job!
I dig this game! It could have really used some audio though. That would have made it even better.
Great idea and nice result. Just a bit too simple in my opinion. Story is great though!
I like this! Although, it is way too fast. Especially the first levels could've been easier.
But, nice graphics, good audio, and very fun.
Hint: DO NOT update the game in the rendering loop!
Epic game! And one in Scratch, what a coincidence! I thought about whether someone would use that when the compo started, and now I know "yes"! This is literally the best game made in Scratch that I ever saw.
Good job!
@Martoon I agree. Since the 48 hours aren't over yet, I think I'm still allowed to fix this. So, there you go, press [R] to restart the level ;-)
I like the idea, but this game felt really incomplete (which was to be expected, since you mentioned that you didn't finish). The movement could've been improved (especially going over those bridges, it takes some time to get on them).
Solid concept. Once I figured out how to connect them, it was great fun! I would have liked it better if the universe was bigger (= more planets to connect). Also this could have used some audio.
But overall, good game with enjoyable gameplay. Well done!
What an idea! Brilliant. Hard to figure out, but then a lot of fun. You get 5/5 points for innovation! And that's something not many people get from me.
Remarkable concept! Great music and graphics, very fun. Great work! I like it!
Quite a challenging game, I like it. The physics are a bit wrong though (you can stand on a wall).
Anyways, great first entry. I encourage you to take part in the next one, too!
PS: This game reminded me a little bit of my own one. We must have had similar thoughts in the beginning, but took them into different directions :-)
Solid idea, although graphics could've been better and sound would have been nice. Overall pretty good.
Good idea, remarkable graphics and audio, also pretty fun.
Nice job! Funny concept, well executed.
Best game I played so far! I absolutely love it! Brilliant idea, beautiful graphics and sound effects. Simple concept, but a lot of fun! Wow!
It's unfortunate you didn't have more time to work on this, as I'm sure it could've ended great. I like the graphics.
Also, you seem to have had an idea similar to mine... splitscreen, with each half representing a world, and the bottom one has inverted gravity. :D
Wonderful graphics, and nice idea. Very well done. I like it.
A bit of music would have made this an even better experience.
I liked the floating text, that was great!
This is a great concept, nicely executed. Simple but very fun. Love it!
Love the graphics and character animation! Great job.
I like the game, the music is great! Was really hard, but that won't influence my voting - I know how hard balancing is.
Fun little game.
You even made the desktop icons yourself, didn't you? Nice!
I can't really understand most of the criticism. For me, level generation worked brilliantly. The game is a bit too easy maybe, but besides that, I like it! And since I'm quite in love with Java, this is even better -- it shows what great things you can do with it, as opposed to the common opinion that Java is not a proper language for writing games.
The graphics are relatively simple, yet stunning. That light aspect was well done. I loved the way attacking works, it was all really smooth!
I would have liked even more if there were a few more aspects, like ways to regain health – or were there? If so, that wasn't quite clear to me.
To sum it up: Awesome little game!
The music is what drives this game, really well done on that part. I also loved the way the whole thing worked, although the controls were not that clear to me at first and I needed more practice than I should have.
Anyway, I quite like your entry.
Wow, that was awesome! The very simple gameplay idea does not mean it lacks anything. There is great music, the graphics look nice, and most importantly I had a lot of fun playing it. Very well done!
An interesting entry. The graphics are really nice, although the text was a little hard to read. It was definitely fun to play, I like the idea and the music is great, too. Very good entry!
That really is an interesting interpretation of the theme. Great idea, and well executed!
The graphics are really nice, the music is beautiful, the sounds are great... This is an awesome game, I like it a lot. Extremely well done.
Can only agree to the others. Surprisingly nice game, very smooth animations and the graphics are so cute! The take on the theme does indeed lack a bit of innovation, but since I myself know how hard it can be to come up with something awesome I don't think it is too bad. Well done!
This is a fun game, I like it! Kind of reminds me of one of my own entries. Heh.
Nice animations, the game looks and feels very smooth overall. Music is nice, too. Well done.
Simple, but very nice. I like the looks, the screenshot already seemed inviting, the game itself felt great as well.
The ambience sound is nice. Gameplay is generally well done.
I guess the surroundings could have been a bit more interactive or animated in some way, but since time is limited, I really do not expect that.
Brilliant entry!
For just 10 hours, this is a good game. Graphics are relatively nice, with the colors and all. If you had had the time and added some music and stuff this could have potential.
This is really a great game. Very simple system, yet big fun. Visually very pleasing too.
Very nice take on this age-old game, combines well with the theme. Fun thing to play.
This is just about the best game I played in all of Ludum Dare. I have got nothing negative to say. I just love it. Stunning graphics, wonderful audio. Gameplay was a lot of fun, very well done! Enjoyed playing immensely, this one has a brilliant mood to it. Even the title screen was impressive. Thanks for this experience.
This is a very cool story idea for the theme. Furthermore, the game really is a lot of fun! It would have been even nicer if you had had the time to add some sounds, but oh well.
And that double jump thing is totally not based on a bug, eh? :D
"That's not a bug, that's a feature!"
This game is definitely one of the harder ones, but I like challenges. Quite the simple concept though. I guess you could have expanded that a little :-)
The graphical style needed a bit of time, but then it grew on me. I like the way the movement works, not just the simple left and right that you'd expect with this theme. The music is well done, too. I wish this game would be a bit longer.
This was so much fun! Seriously, for something made in 5 hours, this is great. It is quite simple, sure, but also very effective. Graphics are great. I like it.
It would be better if we didn't have to install it, really. This takes a lot of the fun away, and I think many people are going to skip even trying your game because of that.
THANKS for all your lovely early feedback! I added 4 more levels due to popular request since the compo isn't over yet!
And please don't forget to come back and vote later on.
Highscore of 148. I don't even know why I enjoyed it so immensely. But I have to say, this really was surprisingly good.
Weird, as I move to the right the camera also moves upwards. This makes it impossible to see anything after just a bit...
Perhaps you are using the x coordinate for both axes when calculating the camera position? I would have loved to actually play this game since what I could see looks rather nice.
What an interesting idea! I was very surprised when I found out there is... more. Well done.
Beautiful game with a lot of humor. The controls were weird though.
Using the square bracket keys is a very bad choice, since different keyboard layouts have them mapped differently. For example, my German QWERTZ keyboard only lets me access them with Shift + 8 or 9, so I couldn't play the game at all, unfortunately...
After some time figuring out how this works, it is a pretty enjoyable game! First I wondered whether this might be a "local multiplayer" kind of thing because of the duplicate key bindings.
The gameplay felt really smooth and I like the music, it fits with the general mood. Especially with this being made in Unity though, I think there could've been a little more to it, both functionality-wise and graphically.
I can't really see how this fits the theme, but the game itself is nice. The way it works is solid, and the art style is also very unique. Nice.
What an amazing game. Maybe the best I've played up until now. Simple but very fun gameplay, and the graphics are *so* good.
