Looks really polished. Nice gameplay!
Wow quite a challenge there... procedural music? changing tempo? Perhaps you could fake it with different fixed tracks, turning volume on and off whether you hit or miss a button? That way you have more control over the overall song and I think it might sound better. (graphics are NOM) -Mark
the great green boss WAS nice... :) hats off for the Dr. Strangelove reference, although the colour of those heels... reaaally? :D
Nice, good replayability until you get all the games right.
You made me lol, and... you only get 'one' star :P
Ohhh nice! I like it :D looks quite good and feel juicy! Nicely done. Interesting and challenging mechanic, the orbiting bullet. Well done!
Throwing your heart at your enemies, poetic :) as mentioned by others... controls are slippery, I guess that's what makes it challenging, if not a bit frustrating. Some music would greatly improve the game though!
So changing does improve your chances, right? First you have a 33% chance, 2nd time a 50% chance to get it right... or did I make a logical error? :)
Playing this is the perfect activity, after a weekend like this :)
Nice game dude! I like the animations and the different attacks. The font was a bit unreadable and the locking of controls was slightly annoying. But other than that: nice! :D
Dude this game is EPIC!! Laughed our asses off while playing!! I am inspired :)
At first I closed the game because I did not understand it, but later when I tried again I got the hang of it and I like the idea of this game! I am inspired! :D next time some tooltips would be helpful though :P Also, you could have made this into the "you only got one" theme by limiting the player with 1 minute or 1 quarter of an hour. or by adding a story that you have a mean boss and he tells you that you only have 1 "day" to make profit for the company, otherwise you are fired.
I am! that is some exceptionally nice pixel artwork :)
Real tough cookie to crack in 48 hours! hats off :) User interface is nice and clear, and a lot of fun to blast tanks. Ground collision is a bit iffy (i keep doing summersaults), improved ai, materials/texturing, music, smoke effects would be an improvement oh, sorry feature creap, awesome for 48 hours, seriously!
Spee is cute :D Very nice 2D artwork! Line thickness, colours... totally awesome :)
No replay?! You sir/mam, are an evil genius :) The colour gradient on the character is really nice, I also enjoyed shooting barrels. I cannot wait until you make a new game, to have one go at :P
Exploding arrows... yes!
I agree with Alink. Shooting from above to protect your guy on the ground is totally cool, jumping would make it a lot easier :)
Awesome :) I like the glove slapping physics, waiting to drop to the correct position for full slapping impact. Not very realistic, but then again... a tiger fighting a cat in waistcoats... shooting eachother, totally sweet. The only real critical point I have is the choice of pantaloons! :P
Love the architecture. The building designs are really nice and so is the lighting. Lag is a bit frustrating though, I guess you could get the polycount down by using normal maps and textures, but then we're not talking about a weekend anymore... :)
The combination of text and song is amazing. You're right, the shaky quality of the recording does really add to the sense of insecurity you feel for the protagonist. I must add you do have a lovely voice. The story is well written... Glad I stumbled past your postmortem. Thank you!
Nice game! Artwork is amazing, and I do love the fact that you have to stay close to the bullet to get zombies close to it and die, risky :) nice gameplay, nice mood!
Sweet game! cool idea that you skavenge your bullet from the robots :) Farting jumps and dr who reference is superfunny.
It's Pixar gone darrrrrk. The 2D animation is wicked, I would love to squish those nasty little snipers :) Music really adds to the whole mood, especially after your bulb's gone :D excellent stuff!
Like the one bullet reflect mechanic, really hard to play though.
I saved the world! Music is very nice and ambient, could do with a little bit more variation... although for 12 hours, pretty impressive :D user interface is very clear, and the help function got me to scratch my head (in a good way!) You know... trying to fight the urge to bash buttons at random till I win, very nice.
The dual earplug thing is amazing, cool idea. Although I must admit that it's pretty tough to learn (for me at least) Colour scheme is really nice retro though. Reminds me of playing battleships, but with sound!
Haha great game. One of the best entries I have seen so far. Awesome graphics and mood. Very funny too! Very polished. Great solution to turn off the lights in order not to have to animate those death scenes.
I liked how random everything was, but on the other hand it was also the problem with the game. There was hardly any logic involved. Only some actions were logical, most wasn't. For instance: getting a lever with a soda can? :P right xD
Camera facing sprites, classic! Really nice environment, good 2D artwork. All it needs is some dark jazzzz... and a nice murder to solve :D
Tree two one staaaaart! Cool, I loved the metal-(sound)-track, artwork is good too. If you'd continue on this game... I'd love to have chainsaw tracks for melee and a lot of blood splatter :D
I do think there should be a lot more games where you can actually see the collision box of your character. This way you can make a very calculated choice, when to jump. And yes, not being able to find the SUPERPENCIL (lol) is kinda special :P ah, yes putting 'J' in your tutorial is probably a good idea, as are checkpoints for respawning, as is adding awesome music and sfx and an MMO world... ooooh featurecreap, sorry. Nice effort for a game made in one weekend!
Reminds me a bit of Beneath a Steel Sky... gorgeous graphics. Looking forward to seeing the finished game!! :)
Hahahahahaha, smash smash smash get off me!!!! Excellent, I rarely have a game make me feel so claustrophobic and panicked. Nice! Let's smash some more evil little mashmellows. Merry Christsmash!
Excellent use of the theme :D fun to play (totally love how the eyes keep looking upward!)
Pretty random, but it works. Didn't get any further then level 9 after a few tries.
Ahhhh getting cornered when those blue punks are creaping up to you is pretty scary... ah ah ahhhh, cool intro sound :)
Nice and relaxing, like the effects during the meditation. My workrave wasn't happy though with the constant button press :)
Haha, cool! I cannot believe i felt sooo proud to get the ball in the goal. Of course there are a lot of improvements to be made, sound, music, azerty/qwerty switch that also works on a mac, textures on ramps and a win screen. Still, playing this makes me feel like a tiny kid running around with a giant ball. nice! (daring use of comic sans!)
Thanks :) you can download the song at: https://soundcloud.com/music4games/hose-before-bros
Thanks for all the awesome feedback!!
@Nazariglev the correct lyrics would be: Fireman Fireman Fireman Fireman Fireman Fireman Fireman Fireman Save Meeee :D
@Zulli, I did check out your game last night, shooting exploding arrows at shifty looking penguins, strangely compelling! :)
A 2 man team?! incredible :D I love the faces... very well done.
The music, don't get me wrong, is really nice and ambient. And the sound is a perfect match for the pixel art. I love the subtle breathing in the background!! Although I am sure there are ways you can use the music to add a sense of urgency an claustrofobia, like the first Descent game. It's a bit more up tempo and has a nice beat to keap you sharp. Although, for a logic game... perhaps ambient is not such a bad choice after all :) And, yeh look at who's talking, I did the music for a game where the house is on fire, probably the most laid back track POSSIBLE :D
I'm well impressed!! Huge amount of work. If you want to continue developing the game... and you're looking for some ambient easy going music, contact me anytime :) -Mark
Awesome graphics, cool animation, cool concept :) too bad that there is no sound and not more levels. Great that you got collisions working!
Nice, feels good, nice pacing and challenge level. I like the (almost) endless nature of the backward leveling
