The jump seemed to be a little delayed. Also, the player hovered about the ground at times for no discernible reason. Good effort, though. I liked the wall jumping mechanic and the background. :)

I wish there was a way to attack. Those evil cylinders gave me the creeps. Good job!
Very clever puzzle game. Excellent entry!
It was a bit laggy and the physics seemed a little wonky at times. But all-in-all, I liked it! The graphics were very cute and fit the minimalism theme well, and when the physics were working properly they were fun to play with. Keep it up! :)
Lovely aesthetics, good job!
Simple yet fun gameplay and an emotionally gripping story. Sadly, I started lagging hard on the third stage (I was playing the Flash version.) I had to exit because of it, so I'm not sure if you ever get the chance to explore rooms to the left and right instead of ones just directly below you. I liked it though, good work!
Really cool game. Great graphics and simple yet enjoyable gameplay.
That guy's workplace sure isn't OSHA compliant. No wonder he wants to quit. Also, it's a fun and beautifully drawn game.
Simple yet well done visuals and engaging gameplay. I liked how the enemies chased you, but it was hard to maneuver at times. A double jump or fast player speed would have helped.
Not only are the visuals beastly pretty, but the amount of thought you put into the theme is staggering. For a game about minimalism, I'm enjoying it to the maximum (please don't kill me for that one.)
I know it's unfinished, but I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this. I'd love to see the finished product once it's complete, keep up the good work!
Cool concept! I thought this was a very polished and creative way to interpret minimalism. Had a decent bit of fun playing, too! :)
Really creative idea! I quite enjoyed this one. :)
I'd love to play this game, but after clicking on the link it said there was an internal server error and no download started.
Pretty cool! It'd be nice if you could press a key or something once in the cave to hibernate once you were done collecting food. I liked the music, especially how it slowed once you started losing energy. The map editor was nifty as well!
Very unique concept and decent presentation! The game crashed when I won, but it ran perfectly. Good going!
I get the same error as My Milked Eek.
Pretty cool idea, and the audiovisual style was all consistent and clean. Keep up the good work!
I liked it! I wish the audio was a little louder at times, it was hard to hear the spoken dialogue. Still, 'tis a polished and enjoyable game!
The title reminded me of a B-movie. It was short and sweet, and the randomness of the lycanthropy gave it bit of replayability.
Cute game! A few things:
* Sometimes it was a bit awkward to control
* I occasionally had trouble placing and grabbing objects (for example, putting the spider web on top of the log to reach the log on a ledge in stage 2)
Still, the concept is great and could lead to some very unique puzzles. The music was catchy too. :)
Branch: Can you tell me what happens when you try to run the .exe? Does it just insta-close, or is a message of some sort displayed? If I knew what the problem was maybe I could try to fix it. :(
Ipcustom: Thank you very much! :)
Kortuga: Thanks, thanks. I forgot to mention this in the original post, but you fullscreen can be activated w/ f4. I can hopefully give the option to increase the port size as well in a future update.
Sanguine: Thanks, and sorry it was overly difficult. Any parts you're having trouble with, specifically? If it's enemy-related, growing your shield/projectile to its full size and holding it down will help in most cases.
KristianGibson: Thank you! Custom controls were coded in the game but not implemented due to sleep deprivation. Expect to see them in a future release. :)
Thanks for the new responses, all! I have finals until Thursday but can hopefully address some of the issued you had after they're done (lack of sound/music, inability to customize controls, better explaining the shield mechanic in-game, etc.)
Will be sure to check out your games too when I have a chance. :)
Thanks to all for the recent comments! I'm still a bit busy getting ready to graduate college and trying to rate as many LD entries as I can in the meanwhile. Once the weekend arrives, hopefully I'll have time to address individual comments in depth. :)
Just a few things to mention: there are actually two endings (I'm not sure if anyone has actually beaten it yet; I didn't anticipate the difficulty being so high for everyone) and for now, there is but a single sound effect in the game. See if you can progress long enough to hear it!
The reason I even mention that is because it relates to a comment by TenTonToon concerning how The Vale reflects minimalism. Looking back, I do wish I'd worked a bit harder to make the game incorporate it. I tried to express the theme primarily in a visual way - through the use of blocky level geometry, solid shapes for sprites with limited shading, and four shades of gray for the palette. I also attempted to utilize just as many resources as needed to convey the game's message. Hence, a single music track and sound effect, the latter highly related to one of the endings.
The thing is, with 48 hours to create a game you probably aren't going to be able to make more than few music tracks or sound effects anyway... so that's why I'm not sure if my reasoning was entirely sound in retrospect. I don't want to equate "minimalism" with "excusing yourself from creating resources than you should for a satisfying experience." :)
Anyway, hope to be more responsive to your comments soon. I really appreciate all your input!
Nifty. It was like playing rock-paper-scissors in real time to settle a violent dispute. I'll have to try this the next time I'm jumped in an alley. Good work!
Cool and creative puzzle game!
Innovative and fun. Highly recommended!
Cool idea coupled with some neat visuals. Sadly, I had a hard time beating the first level because I'd often slam into the walls at the end, even if I was mere pixels away from the door. Maybe you could make it so they don't kill you like the obstacles do?
The second level actually seemed a lot easier than the first. I wasn't able to process after that, because that jump you have to make off the ledge in the third level nearly guarantees you won't be able to jump again without colliding with the walls at the end (and you need the extra speed to beat the time limit.)
Amazingly creative, and the art is beautiful! If I had any criticism, they'd be that the difficulty spikes hugely after the first three or so rooms and that there aren't enough obstacles. Super game though, would play again.
Nice to see another TD game. This one was a little too bare bones for me, even considering the minimalist theme. I did like the idea of having to use as few resources as possible though. Hope you keep at it! :)
The visuals were cute and simplistic, and the gameplay pretty good. Sometimes the enemies just seemed to press up against walls, but they were still decently challenging. Really nice game here!
Expertly done physics, clean sprites, and great audio. It's like a minimalistic version of The Incredible Machine. Give it a go, people! :)
Coolio. A few things:
* I seemed to be able to knock enemies through the walls
* It'd be nice to add an invulnerability period after the player gets damaged
* The game lagged for me at times
The sprites and sounds were nice though, and it was fun to smack things with my purse. Is the ninja killable, by chance?
Stellar visuals; they really fit the minimalism theme. One thing I wish was that the special ability key was separate from the one you use to change players. Sometimes I would unintentionally swap to my other character when trying to ward off aliens, getting mauled in the process. Increasing the player's movement speed a tad might be nice too.
Minor gripes aside, 'tis a fun and unique title.
Wonderful title. It took me back to my serial table flippage days.
Nice game! I think it turned out nicely too and would be even better with obstacles and collectibles of some kind. It really reminds me of the 'Down the Tubes' level EWJ.
Better than Monty Python.
Hey, you. Those pretty sprites are pretty.
Neat concept! Liki Kiwiboi, I felt the clicks were a little unresponsive at times. Still, great visuals and solid project!
Cool! It does what it set out to do well, and the visuals rock. One suggestion: add a two player mode.
The audio was snazzy and the game mechanic creative. Nice one!
Very fun little title! Is the gun not supposed to be able to destroy crates though? More enemy types/power ups would be nice as well, but you could easily add those in the future.
Would love to try it, but when I click the link I'm just met with a blank white page. Not sure what the problem is.
Interesting mechanic. It'd be cool if the objects in your environment, depending on what they are, gave you different abilities once drained. The AI seemed responsive, and the landscape did a good job embodying minimalism. Good game, overall.
Really creative way to interpret the theme. Good luck with your future LD entries!
Nifty! Just needs some obstacles, power-ups, and a difficulty curve. Who doesn't love bunnies?
Cool game that you could easily expand upon in the future (more enemy types, faster spawn rates, etc.)
Congrats on your first LD entry and good luck in the future!
Such a whimsical little game. I kept falling off platforms due to perspective, and the controls didn't want to cooperate at times. However, I enjoyed the transformations and their different powers. The voice acting was pretty crisp and humorous as well.
Good entry, overall. Great going! :)
Not bad, not bad. Hope you enjoyed your first LD and will stick with it!
Great visuals! I'm really impressed you went with a RTS for the LD, and I'd love to see more if this is further developed. Congratulations!
Great graphics and a fun take on the runner game genre. I kept having Megaman 8 flashbacks while playing this for some reason...
It's very difficult to hit enemies with the punch. It might be better to create some sort of object actually in front of the player to prevent him from being repeatedly hit while attacking.
Things I liked:
* the novel concept
* how the environment's colors changed when you collected too many points.
Pretty great idea with a lot of potential. Like Eternal_Rest, I wish it lacked the waiting intervals. I'd enjoy it more if it was more fast paced and changed to another game immediately after losing one. Minor nitpicks aside, 'twas fun.
Really fun gameplay. Things I especially liked:
* the minimap
* the varied enemy behaviors
* the particle effects for enemy and player deaths
The boss of stage one actually seemed easier than those flashing red blocks and the snake thing. Anyway, terrific entry. Well done!
Very cool idea! The randomly generated levels keep it fresh and the visuals are all consistent and clean. Good work, all around.
A nice interpretation of the minimalism theme that creates a simple yet fun experience. Good work!
Interesting concept. Are you supposed to be able to move through the blue walls, or is that a glitch?
The world definitely needs more games with potato beetle protagonists. Props for that.
I really enjoyed this... game... fever dream-type thing. But when I found the key, I couldn't pick it up no matter how much I tried. :(
I'll give it another go soon. But the level of detail that went into this one is breathtaking. From the buildings outside to the waving painting flyers, it's just a very surreal and brilliant experience. Very good work on your part!
This game could definitely be a winner if spruced up a bit. Just speed up the blending process and maybe make it more arcade-y (add a time limit, squares that aren't supposed to be blended, powerups, etc.) Lots of creative ways for ya' to polish this title if you so desire.
Hope you enjoyed your first LD and that you'll be back next time around!
The view can be a bit spazzy, but the concept is great and the models look phenomenal. The best game with a pencil protagonist I've played to date.
When I try to run it, it just says that the program has stopped working and refuses to open.
Too bad there wasn't a single player option... I don't think the AI would be too hard to program (at least I hope not.) Nonetheless, it has a lot of flair and replayability in its current form. The graphics were gorgeous, the gameplay smooth, and the audio fittingly sparse. Congrats on your quality LD entry!
Holy moly (pun intended), the visuals are superb! I got stuck in the walls a few times and apparently you can die from jumping over the top of the screen. But in the end, it's a cute little platformer. The gem mechanic could be explored in a lot of interesting ways if the level design was more labyrinthine.
Good job with this one! :)
What a box-riffic game this was. I enjoyed it a lot! :)
Hilarious. Many props for such a creative interpretation of the theme!
Spiffy game! It seemed pretty polished aesthetically, and the gameplay was simple but fun. I tried the web version and got stuck after folding (I couldn't move once the animation had finished), so hopefully that'll be fixed soon. Nice of you to offer the soundtrack as well, I'm a huge fan of the violin. :)
I got stuck in the walls a few times, but that's easily fixable. I'm glad you learned a lot from your first LD and hope to see more from ya' next time! :)
Dandy game. 'Twould be nice to move your character up and down, but it's not essential. It's an easy concept to expand upon, for sure.
Wonderful presentation and audio, but a bit awkward to control at times. Nonetheless, great work.
I wish the enemy AI was a bit smarter... because otherwise, this game was lots of fun. The weapon variety added replayablity, but I just didn't have much trouble avoiding the Crepiti due to their predictability.
The visuals really do their job well, as did the simplistic sounds. If you added more enemy types with varied behaviors I can definitely envision myself digging this game. It's pretty good as is, don't get me wrong. But I'd love to see what you do with it in the future if you continue to work on it!
Nifty. I encountered a glitch: if your character walks outside of the screen by accident, he vanishes and you have to exit the game. Good idea though, and fitting soundtrack.
This is a really fun way to reinvent tic-tac-toe. I played by myself and either won or lost, I'm not sure which.
Minobi... gotta' love that reference. 'Twas a good game overall, I just encountered a few minor bugs:
* Sometimes the player's run sprite would continue to be displayed even while they were standing still
* I occasionally had trouble dropping through the thin grey platforms; the down key seemed unresponsive
Nice graphics and gameplay. Minobi is fun for the whole family (or just one person, alternatively.)
Pretty nifty game! I liked the graphical style and minigame variety.
Great job on your first LD entry! Before now, finding my lost keys was a stressful and birdless experience. But all that changed when I played Perception. Keep up the good work!
Cool! A couple things:
* I could still play after getting a game over.
* I wasn't sure what the goal of the game was. I just wandered around everywhere
A game based on the concept of exploring mazes in a limited amount of time could be very creatively done. I hope you'll continue to expand on your ideas, as well as participate in the LD. You have potential, as we all do!
Loving the presentation. Would it be possible to map the movement to the arrow keys, perhaps? I need to sleep for now but will hopefully play more tomorrow.
*spoiler alert*

Right now I've gotten up to the ship to leave for the Devil's Dome. I move the square to it and press shift, but nothing seems to happen. Same for the other areas... am I doing something wrong?
Cute. The game's main mechanic might be improvable if there were occasionally squares you would actively want to be on the top or bottom to touch - powerups or score boosters of some sort.
Overall, a very competently done minigame. The flower garden aspect of it was a nice touch too.
'Tis a fun and addictive little minigame. Well done!
Woah, procedural music generation? Far out. This sure was a creative and engaging way to express minimalism. The instructions seemed to be a bit confusing, but I quickly learned what to do by getting in game and clicking around to experiment.
I like how the player can adjust difficulty on the fly. Sometimes the sounds were a little too loud when I'd placed a substantial number of obstacles; maybe an option to adjust the volume would remedy that?
This one definitely get high marks for creativity. Good work, 'tis a very unique game!
One of the most original ideas I've seen thus far. Kudos to ya'.
I really enjoyed this one. Flying around and blasting cosmic spuds is an unrivaled experience.
After hitting the baby to keep it from colliding with the ground several times, my character just started clipping through him. It was fun while it worked though!
Wow. That's some fine pixel work, that there. I particularly enjoy how expressive the robot is while jumping. The premise was simple and fun, and who doesn't love seeing a giant, expressive "LOSE" when they fall to their death?
I give this one four spuds out of five. You might even say it's "tuber" great.
Cool! A new twist on an old classic. Sometimes, I could keep moving even when the textboxts popped up (for example, after defeating an orc.) I'm not sure if that's intentional or not.
Decent concept, but I would probably change how the jumping mechanic works. Right now it's usually so safe to hug the right and left sides of the screen while periodically mashing the spacebar that it breaks the game. Maybe you could have it so the player has a variable amount of jumps that increases every few seconds, while the screen gradually rises?
Just a suggestion, good work overall. :)
When I start up the game, it goes to what appears to be a title screen (there are two swords) and I can move them up and down. But the screen is blank... I can't seem to select any options. :(
Your game looks very well done though, especially for your first. Will try it once the issues are fixed!
Oh hey! So your game works now, huzzah! :)
Apparently those swords aren't for selecting options on a title screen, but actually choosing and arranging the row you're currently on. Not gonna lie, I had a blast playing this. It really challenges you to think creatively to get the treasure.
Oh yeah! One thing: when I first got to the stage with the treasure on the top row and the player say, oh, three columns to the right I thought, "Wow, this will be easy." But apparently, having a treasure chest dropped on your head isn't something a pirate should let happen to himself if he likes living. Might want to clarify that it's hazardous to his health in the instructions or something. :)
But yeah, this is a great game. I can tell you put a lot of effort into it and would love to see your future LD entries. Keep at it!
The collision detection is a bit off. I enjoy maze games, but it'd be nice if this one had more unique obstacles to keep it fresh. I believe its possible to make a game both mimalistic and unique, so I hope if you continue to work on this you'll develop some creative ways to reinvent the genre. Keep up the good work! :)
Nifty audio. Would be nice to have some control over the character, as well as encounter obstacles and all as the game progresses. Solid effort.
Aww, this was super kawaii (pardon my French.) I liked the simplistic graphics and movement mechanic. I'm not sure if you could ever interact with the sleeping animals, but it was cool to just find them snoozing in various places. The ending was sweet too! :)
Coolio! The music was catchy and the main mechanic interesting. Not bad at all!
Nice blending of genres. The graphics were simple and clean, and I liked the music. Wish I had someone else to try it with, but I had fun playing it alone anyway. Good work! :)
Well hey, I was surprised that this was the first tower defense game I'd seen for the LD. It seemed like a genre that you could apply minimalism to easily.
It seems a little glitchy at times. The giant red and green spheres will sometimes collide with the wall and just stop, rather than trying to escape with my green triangles. I also couldn't place my tower on one occasion after starting the game. But you know, it's fun when it works. Good going!
Good of you to commit to getting something done. A co-op maze game could really bloom into something awesome if you give it time and thought. Would love to see your future LD entries, keep at it!
When I click on the link, it just takes me to a white screen and nothing loads. I'm using Chrome, but I tested it in Firefox and IE and got the same result. :(
Cool! I had to experiment with different deaths a few times, but it seemed very intuitive and I learned where to place what quickly. Nice little brain teaser this was, good going!
Decent lil' platformer. Congrats on your first LD entry! I got stuck in the walls several times and apparently you can still jump in the air when falling if you haven't already used your jump. Hopefully you fix those bugs sometime, as well as build off of this game to create bigger and better ones in the future. Good job!
Simple but fun. What's not to like?
Interesting. Are you supposed to just be able to walk through the animals and arrows (which I assume are trees?) The audio was quite relaxing, but I felt like the gameplay was a bit bare.
Wow, this was really fun. A few things:
* There seemed to be two pieces of gold in the forest I couldn't collect, because they were behaving like solid objects.
* In the desert section, the player's projectiles were the same color as the sand and pretty much impossible to see after being fired.
* The music was a little loud at times.
Other than those minor issues, this was a really well done game. I liked the eight directional shooting and the soundtrack was amazing. I never encountered any glitches during gameplay, and I highly enjoying exploring the dungeons. Fantastic job!
Nifty game! I think there's a typo on the question response concerning how the player's father died. It should be "though" instead of "thought." Just a little thing though, congrats on your entry!
I couldn't quite figure out the patterns of the grey boxes. It was interesting trying to avoid them, at any rate.
Love this one. 'Twas really fun to maneuver the ship around, and being able to customize the difficulty on the fly was a major plus. Good work!
Great graphics, cool audio, and decent writing. Groovy game, dudes.
I tried the web version, but it crashed after I clicked the first level on the title screen. I'm using Chrome, if it helps to mention (I'm not sure if that affects it at all; quite unfamiliar with Unity's webplayer.)
Once I downloaded the windows version though, I found the game itself both creative and enjoyable. It kept things fresh by introducing new streams of colored light with different behaviors each level. Also, I never got frustrated when misjudging how to adjust the landscape because of the game's forgiving nature. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the presentation is clean and professional.
All in all, a very welcome addition to the LD. Highly recommended.
This was fun enough as just a line, but the evolving aspect made it even better. I kind of wish you had a healthbar instead of a timer though, so that skilled players could theoretically keep on playing forever. That's just a minor thing though that didn't really subtract from the experience.
Marvelously crafted game right here, folks. Give it a whirl.
Sure, it looks like a simple test of reflexes, but cube better believe it's challenging. The perfect game for inducing catharsis and releasing your boxed up emotions. You're a real square if you don't give this one a go.
Cool! I minimalized those cities like a pro. Maybe I'm cut out for a career in demolition.
Dang, whoever composed the music for this one has a serious knack for it. The gameplay was simple and fun, and you clearly went above and beyond to include a two-player mode. Oh, and of course the graphics look wonderful. Fantastic game!
Well hey, that was a creative concept. Changing the player's color to give them different attributes really could be used in a ton of innovative ways. Unfortunately, there wasn't too much done with it. I really wish it affected your powers or how you interacted with the environment or enemies somehow.
Also, I got stuck in the walls a few times. Still, this was a charming game. The graphics were very well done and I liked exploring a giant, minimalistic painting. Good going!
Spooky stuff. Those 3d models are keen, and the atmosphere was great.
This is superb! Colliding with the wall always felt like it was genuinely the player's fault, rather than being the result of wonky code. The sound effects were fitting and the visuals simple yet well pieced together. Finally, I liked how using the echolocation was entirely optional, allowing a more skilled player to stay shrouded in darkness longer.
One of the best LD games I've played of late. Give it a try, peeps.
Pretty graphics and good gameplay! I wish that the doors would only open if you pressed in their direction with a key, but that would mean redesigning the levels where you're not supposed to pass by certain ones. Great first LD entry, hope to see more from you! :)
The gameplay was pretty fluid and the graphics were dandy. Maybe you could make it so that every so often, an ammo pickup will spawn in a room if the player is out? That would give them a way to keep playing if their shots get dispersed by a group of zombies.
Really classy first LD entry, all in all. Looking forward to your future works!
The two spikes near the end of level five make it disproportionately hard compared to what came before. Also, sometimes you start so close to the screen's edge that it seems you insta-die right as you begin.
Still, good idea and it's pretty fun. Now just take it and make it even more unique!
Cube Dinosaurs? Why yes, yes they are. Wish the platforming was a bit more varied, but the models were cute.
Controlling with the mouse was a nice change of pace. Just add some obstacles (teleports, enemies, etc.) and it'd be crazy fun!
I want to try it, but the shortcut in the default directory doesn't seem to work. When I head over to the bin file to manually run the .exe, it doesn't start up either.
Very minimalist, very well coded, very complimentary adjective. Good work!
Super fun game, all in all. The randomly generated levels give it replayability, and having to think about which item to drop was quite strategic.
The concept was great! On stage 3, are the positions of the red blocks randomly generated? I tried it after exiting the game once and they appeared in separate locations. The reason I ask is because sometimes I'd fly into them without any time to attack due to the automatic jumping mechanic.
I hope this game gets rave reviews. Just don't confuse it with that other, equally cool title on the Mega Drive.
Cool idea, and it seems pretty polished! I'm using Windows 7 and it worked fine for me. I also liked how you collected health outside of battle and that it required skill to time your turns correctly.
Loved the atmosphere and audio. Fit the theme to a tee.
The physics were a little off at times, usually when ladders where involved. But that's easy to look past, considering the rest was nicely done. Great graphics and exceptional music seal the deal for me.
Wow, this was a masterpiece. Amazing concept and brilliant execution. The music was soothing and helped me enjoy the tricky yet balanced puzzles.
A minor bug I encountered: after beating the last stage and clicking to exit, the program kept running even though it had disappeared from the task bar. I eventually had to close it with the task manager. I'm using Windows 7, if that helps.
Wow, I'm loving this. A simple idea executed brilliantly, with polished graphics and audio to boot.
Very competently done game! I could definitely see myself playing this on a mobile device if I had one.
It was hard to hear the music over all the explosions, and amount of enemies that spawned was so high that sometimes I wasn't able to navigate the tunnels without plowing through them. Pretty cool game overall, just needs some fine tuning to be a classic. :)
A short and sweet cautionary tale that warns the reader of dogs' transmorphic powers. *spoiler alert*

The potato-related endings were an unexpected twist.
Pretty! The gameplay was kind of frustrating at times, until I learned to just explore a tiny open area and make the square come to me.
It was a little hard to read the text at the end due to the darkness.

I'll let you know once I've taken the square home, I'm still searching for the place as I write this.
The collision detection is a little borked betimes. I can be standing several pixels away from the enemies and still get hit. Still, I like this game's visuals and audio; both capture the essence of minimalism.
Wow. Excellent audiovisuals, guys. That zoom out upon level completion really sealed the deal for me.
One thing: I wasn't sure why touching the top of the picture frame killed me. It was a little awkward to try jumping when on the upper parts of the screen in fear of it. But aside from that, everything was great gameplay-wise.
Would love to see where you guys eventually take this title!
Pretty decent game! I just wish Mr. Minimal moved a bit faster. Sometimes I would have the entire stage clear before he even traversed a single space. :(
Nice concept! The HTML5 version worked fine for me (no lag). If you have time in the future to revisit and expand on this idea I bet it'd turn into something great.
Not to be a grammar Nazi, but on stage 2 when the dialogue says "and was able to..." I think it should be "were able to..."
As for the actual game, it's solid. Polished gameplay and a fun mechanic, although I misunderstood it at first and thought that I'd literally only be able to jump/move/perform one specific action per stage. The graphics did their job well, and the music was fitting. Just add some more levels, traps, and abilities and you'll have yourself a fine little platformer. :)
Very cool idea! I'm a big fan of the Civ games and thought this was a pretty solid entry. :)
This game was quite fun, but the enemies seemed really powerful. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I kept getting mobbed and repeatedly dying to the first group of them I encountered. I still thought the presentation and gameplay were well done.
Nice game! I enjoyed the visuals and audio a lot. Just one thing: at the end, I think the last sentence should read:
"The guards led him to the throne, where he sat to be crowned."
Keep up the good work!
It seemed to run a bit slowly for me. But the concept could definitely be enjoyable with some tweaking. Nice job completing a game!
This game was like Lemmings and the Incredible machine rolled into a glorious, surreal package of splendiferousness. My favorite part was illuminating the shoes to reveal their skeletons and keep them from walking to their doom. I'd kill for a full version of this; there's at least a million ways to expand upon its remarkable concept.
Really beautiful game! I was a bad enough due to rescue to pueblos, I guess.
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but if you stand next to the tower and just hit space repeatedly, you can climb it without even using the platforms.
Really anxious to see the source once it's fully released. Good going, you should be proud of this!
Those potatoes sure did accelerate.
Never before has taking potatoes been so wonderfully pixeled.
Killer graphics, guy (or girl). I Especially loved the detail that went into the drawings on the opening screen. Plus, it was fun moving around and trying to figure out where to put stuff. Good going!
Cool concept. Would love to see more types of dangers/objects you can collide with that have unique effects, as well as have the ability to move left and right. Good job!
I got a laugh out of some of the toy names. Addictive and fun, seems pretty polished too. Highly recommended. :)
Pretty cute. I think there was a typo at the end? Something about avoiding all that people being killed? It should be "those" or something. No biggie though, great job!
This was a pretty good time waster. I'd honestly love to see you turn it into a multiplayer online death-match type of game. Good job on the netcoding and physics!
Cool art. Climbing that mountain at the end felt really good, for some reason.
Thanks guys, I'm currently fixing the game breaking bugs... I think I know what's wrong. Should have it updated in a moment.
Alright, the crashing should stop. Music won't play post-death for reasons unknown, but I can fix that later after some sleep.
Thanks again for the responses, guys. Looking forward to playing your games!
Sorry about the crashing issues, folks. I've been playtesting for a bit myself and have gotten them as well. They're pretty much due to the lack of familiarity with the audio .dll I'm using. Might end up switching it out for something else if this keeps up.
Anyway, hopefully the most recent version is better.

Thanks for the heads up, apologies for that. I always try to program customizeable controls into my games but usually don't have enough time to make an interface for changing them. If you open the file in the game's directory that says 'Settings', try changing the value of 'Shoot' to 89. That should fix things for you.
Fun stuff. This really reminded me of the mini golf game from Wario Land 3, if anyone remembers that. Nicely done!
Fun concept, but I got stuck in walls a lot. It's all good though, keep up the good work!
Hi! I wanted to play this, but didn't see a download link? Please let me know if I'm missing something when you can. Thank you!
Funny and arcade-y. Who doesn't love ducks?
P.S. Don't answer that.
Fun little game, here. The gravity wand was by far my favorite weapon. Digging the pixel art as well.
I wish my character's direction could be changed mid-movement. For some reason, if I hold down a key and press another he keeps walking in the old one. That's a minor thing, though. Overall, good work!
It works like a charm in Chrome. A fighting game is a unique choice for the Ludum Dare, I liked this one despite the balance issues and all. Good work!
Great graphics and fun, arcade-y action. Well done!
'Tis a nice, festive game; I thoroughly enjoyed it. The global present counter is a really creative idea. Merry Christmas to you, too!
You did a great job with the cutesy, colorful graphics. It really reminded me of a Kirby game.
Very nice game here. Give it a go, peeps.
Pretty sprites and solid gameplay. I like it!
Cool! Despite the glitches, I thought the concept was unique.
Cool idea and funny writing. The physics are a bit iffy though.
I beat it. This was a pretty polished and fun game! Also, here's the screenshot you asked for.

Spiffy game with a nice sense of humor.
Cool concept, 'tis a nice arcadey-type game. I liked it!
Nice character customization. Once I got some of the upgrades it got a lot more enjoyable. It'd be nice if the enemies had different attacks and spawned less frequently. Overall, good job!
This is almost Worms-esque. Very creative concept!
Pretty art. Also, "Fishbowl engage!"
Nifty. Sometimes it seemed a little hard to hold onto the ladder. Otherwise, solid effort.
Gotta' love that Wilhelm scream. I died in new and interesting ways. Also, I think "misterious" should be "mysterious." Good game though, very funny.
Great graphics! I just wish the enemy types had different patterns or attacks. Fun concept to expand on though, good job!
Fun game with a good message. I particularly liked how the shield was used to both block attacks and let the smiley faces in.
Congrats on your first LD entry! There's a typo on the title screen; "because" is repeated twice. Otherwise, nice game.
I really liked the graphics, weirdly enough. I'm a big fan of cell shading, and everything had a nice surrealistic touch to it as well. Good job, I was just a bit confused on how to play. After you beat the snake-thing and rescue a princess is there anywhere else to go?
I liked the whole ninja-rope concept. The music was decently catchy as well.
When I open the file, the screen just goes white after I choose "survival." I'm using Windows 7 and am simply double clicking the .jar file titled 'RUN'. Hope that helps a little.
Solid gameplay and nice concept. Randomly generated levels would make it extra awesome. I like how you can basically self impose a challenge by choosing which maiden to rescue. Good work!
Cute take on the endless runner genre. It'd be nice to be able to jump while moving, but no worries. Nice, clean graphics, too. Good job!
Interesting. There are a few typos (like "woking" instead of "working"), but it does what it's supposed to. Great effort.
Very inspired take on the theme. I enjoyed this one a lot!
I had a lot of trouble getting past the room that said, "And it scares me." Cute graphics, very minimalist.
