LD22 — Alone

No Mother Alone by brodavi 2011-12-21T23:17:00

Thanks for the comments, guys! :)

@andrebeton : yes, not much game at all. I had originally wanted other adults, and the whole point of 'looking up' was to look at their faces to find your mother amongst them. But, you know. 2 days and all. :P I actually had it set up where it was starting as soon as you load the page, but it was having some problems, so I changed it to a start button. Did I mention I have no idea what I'm doing?

@Benjamin : Thanks. Yes, I wanted to add a 'transition animation', but didn't have time, and I didn't know how to do that anyway.

@kato9 : I would love to, but I have never hosted anything before. I couldn't find any free hosting that let me serve up a javascript game.

No Mother Alone by brodavi 2011-12-31T21:52:00

No, I didn't make the music. I thought we could use sound effects/music if they were public domain. Oops. Thanks for pointing this out!

LD23 — Tiny World

Short Life in a Box by tequibo 2012-04-24T10:20:00

Looks cool, but there's no unity web player for linux. sorry :(

Combat Cubes by bigbadwofl 2012-04-24T10:25:00

Looks cool! I wish I could play it, but I'm using linux. sorry :(

LD26 — Minimalism

Twinimalism by TenTonToon 2013-05-05T22:45:00

Not bad at all. Quite hard!

Nothing Left by Gremlin 2013-05-05T22:38:00

An absurdly fun game. More fun than it has any right to be. Short but sweet. I love the "shooting" mechanic.

All Fall Down by lambomang 2013-05-05T22:25:00

Wow neat. I liked it a lot. :) I got a little confused about the keys, but I figured it out eventually. I jumped just as the girl does the thing, and somehow the screen got stuck. I escaped seeing only my head after that. Got the lovely ending though :)

Union by theplotlessplot 2013-05-05T22:30:00

What a great little game. Wonderful idea, great sound, very minimalist :)

Run or Splash by Yacodo 2013-05-05T22:09:00

Good game! I think I would like it if it wasn't possible to clear the level unless the player got some minimum number of tiles cleared. Bonus points for clearing more than the minimum, super bonus for clearing the maximum.

Aenigma by jgnilka 2013-05-05T22:04:00

I had fun. I completed the big puzzle. It didn't seem to recognize the placement unless I clicked after dragging and dropping.

SUPER tidy-up simulator PRO 2013 by daredevildave 2013-05-05T22:42:00

Not bad. Some issues with collision. I thought I would just follow my partner around, but stuff was appearing everywhere! Haha

CHUCK by brodavi 2013-04-30T16:35:00

if you click on the screen, the guy doesn't throw? Oh! Could be a browser thing. We only targeted Opera and Chrome. We have an mp3 so Firefox complains, but if you're getting past that, I *think* it will work.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

CatWalk: Final battle by Pixelfan Games 2013-08-27T18:27:00

Oh man what a great game! I loved it. Brought back memories. The comics, even though they were just sketches, were great! The variety of mini games was fun. Loved the big boss battle hahaha great job!

Dan Dynamite by loxo 2013-08-27T18:20:00

Fun :) I was really expecting to win when I got to the blue field hahaha

You had one job by stewthepoo 2013-08-27T17:12:00

Hehehe funny! Is there a way to beat the game? I didn't see a level count.

GURU GURU by Makio64 2013-08-30T03:03:00

Wow so great! Wonderful music, excellent character design, fun mechanic, nostalgic! :)

Life'Short by fgielow 2013-08-29T23:36:00

What a great game! I love it! Really brought back memories. And what a great interpretation of the theme. Coool

Intensive Care by hoqjed 2013-08-29T23:34:00

Great game! Addicting and fun. I played the linux version. works fine in ubuntu 12.04

Seamless by evilentity 2013-08-27T17:43:00

Fun little game! I agree the controls are hard. Very floaty and not responsive. But I compensated for it and won anyway. I had to keep playing. Level design was good :)

Planet Smasher by thesunnyk 2013-08-27T17:20:00

I like this! Fun mechanic. I would suggest trying to restrict the planets from entering a tight orbit. Makes it too easy to just let them 'spin themselves to death' with each other. I like trying to 'fling' them better. But they are quite small, and it is a challenge!

Next Gen Cat Gameplay by UltraRat 2013-08-27T17:52:00

Seems you can "cheat" by just moving back and forth at a certain pace, slowing down or speeding up if necessary. I was expecting more of a "you just did that movement, the cat is bored" sort of mechanic. Nevertheless, fun! :)

RopeSwing by odeckers 2013-08-27T18:02:00

Wow, great mechanic! I love the simple moody lighting. The controls were a little wonky, I thought. When trying to grapple, I found I just wanted to click in the direction of where I thought a wall might be, not actually click on the wall. And at one point, I fell down a bottomless pit and the game didn't restart for me :( But otherwise fantastic game :)

40 in 10 by djbriandamage 2013-08-27T17:49:00

Music gooooood :)

Once upon a Night by zanval 2013-08-28T00:53:00

oh I see. yeah I still use Java 6

There is no time by brodavi 2013-08-27T01:20:00

Ugh... time management is my enemy.

But, the game plays pretty much how I envisioned it, there is a win condition, and I had fun with a narrative.

Man, polygon-based character animation is no fun.

There is no time by brodavi 2013-08-27T17:28:00

@Clodial Thanks! Yeah I was going for a rich polygon art style (squares for eyes, badges, buttons, wall seams, etc), but just ran out of time. In hindsight, I could have just faked it with tiles (which would have resolved the clipping issues), but oh well. Thanks for playing! Sorry I can't rate your game, I only have linux. Oh, the "backwards-speaking man" is a reference to "Twin Peaks".

@thesunnyk Thanks so much! Yeah, I wanted this game to instill mystery. I actually wanted to have an animated cut-scene with the backwards-speaking man, but no time. Yep, I would love to expand on it and make it a large adventure game! Thanks for playing!

@stewthepoo Haha thanks yeah sorry about the collision stuff. I'll work on it. I wanted to add more cool spaceship stuff like replicators and robots and force fields, but alas, no time. Thanks for playing!

There is no time by brodavi 2013-08-27T18:31:00

@almightyzentaco Thanks for playing! I wanted to play your game. The trailer looks amazing! But I have no Windows :(

@Pixelfan Games Sorry you got bored :( Yeah I wanted some music and sounds, but just didn't have the time. Your game is awesome!

@loxo Yeah that character animation was a nightmare. I shouldn't have done geometry animation. It bothers me too. Thanks for playing!

There is no time by brodavi 2013-08-28T00:54:00

@djbriandamage Thanks! :)

There is no time by brodavi 2013-08-29T23:36:00

@hoqjed I didn't get around to inter-second UI, but yes, time slows down if you are reading something. It should speed back up (not quite to real time) when you leave. And yes, some actions don't save, but there is a reason. I just didn't make it clear. The idea was that a copy of you repeats what you did last 10 seconds, like a ghost. So that ghost would get radiation protection, but you wouldn't. But the ghost should teleport the hyperdrive regulator, and you should see that. I am pretty sure that works. Anyway thanks for playing!

@fgielow Thanks for playing! Love your game!

There is no time by brodavi 2013-08-31T07:19:00

@Makio Thanks! Story was a big part of it. I wanted to explore more but no time. Reeealy love your game btw :) Thanks for playing!

@RARoadkill Sorry about the collision, yeah it's a mess. Hahaha moon walking.. yeah that's what I intended ;) Thanks for playing!

There is no time by brodavi 2013-09-05T17:08:00

@Zap thanks! Yep, I had originally wanted to show your 'ghost' moving around, doing the things you did last time, but I just ran out of time. Thanks for playing!

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Operation: Delve by xgeovanni 2014-05-03T17:44:00

Wow fun! :) this is my kinda game. I love the zelda/adventure types of combination/unlocking mechanics. Yeah the AI gets stuck, and yeah the controls are wonky, but I liked it! Great job!

Truth by Jason Lay 2014-05-13T02:06:00

Great job! At first, I didn't think I would get a feel for it, but you kept the anticipation going with the narrative so well, I had to keep playing until I finished. The mood was great, kept me hooked, but the metaphor was a little heavy, and for some reason when I looked I couldn't walk and vice-versa. But, all in all, a fantastic achievement for 48 hours! :)

Grimy Little Game by Nocturnal 2014-05-01T19:45:00

Fun little game! :) I really like the sludgy grimy disgusting little blobs... great theme and enjoyable clicking challenge

NecRobot by Zarkith 2014-05-05T15:40:00

Oh man this is such a polished game. Amazing. Graphics fantastic, sound fantastic, just great! Captured the retro feel so very well.

Really hard though :P

Havoc2d by Idkfawin32 2014-05-06T04:54:00

wooow so much fun :P I love punching those cars. very gratifying. too bad about the score, oh well, great game anyway :)

Word Digger by MattV 2014-04-29T22:39:00

Nice! Captured my attention. I got a few words that I think aren't words. I can just drag around the game kinda cheating :P

Word Digger by MattV 2014-04-29T22:40:00

Nice! Captured my attention. I got a few words that I think aren't words. I can just drag around the game kinda cheating :P I didn't get any powerups though :(

Ants at War by magicspark 2014-05-01T06:19:00

I agree, amazing graphics! The game was obviously very ambitious, and you've done an incredible job getting it this far! That said, I couldn't get into the flow. I think more time on mechanics/polish and less on the amazing graphics would have been a good trade off.

Excellent job! :D

FoxyTank by matthias_zarzecki 2014-04-29T22:45:00

Aww man what a great game! Excellent execution. I think there should be a 'parts found / total' so that we can see how far we have to go. Really nice! :)

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-04-29T03:13:00

Thanks Matthias :)

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-04-29T17:58:00

Thanks for the input MattV! :) I think you hit the nail on the head; I agree completely.

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-04-29T23:18:00

@magicspark gyaaaaaa that is a bug :( I will fix that. Sorry! And thanks for the input! :)

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-01T05:47:00

UPDATE: Some bugs fixed, can now actually see the treasure you're getting. It doesn't just vanish with next click. Clicks are handled better, clearer representation of item value. Cannot 'downgrade' your digger.

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-01T06:21:00

UPDATE2: Game should now work on tablet-sized screens (if rotated to landscape)

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-01T14:25:00

@magicspark no, there are only 10 levels of dirt. When the color changes on a plot of dirt, that means a new level has been reached. Sometimes the color change is too slight though. Maybe I need another info item for that. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-03T17:44:00

@xgeovanni yeah they were originally square, but I changed the style so that the game works on a tablet-sized screen in landscape mode, so now the game squares are game rectangles :P

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-05T15:41:00

Hey thanks man :)

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-06T04:56:00

@Idkfawin32 wow thanks :)

@dj_pale yeah this game is definitely very far from where I wanted it, but I actually only spent 2 hours on it or so, because most of my time was spent on the 72-hour jam with some friends of mine :P

Treasure! by brodavi 2014-05-13T02:07:00

Thanks @Jason Lay :) I tried to get it to work on tablets. Works okay on my android.

Speed Driller by dj_pale 2014-05-06T04:48:00

Hmm I can't seem to play the game. It says press any key to start, but I hit lots of different keys, clicked everywhere, but nothing starts the game.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Circular Logic by Benn 2014-08-26T02:52:00

Wow what a super fun game! I am not sure how it expresses 'connected worlds', but it sure is a good game :)

Starlight Cowboy by pinion 2014-08-26T03:08:00

That was pretty fun. I am a sucker for top down spaceship games :)

Darkness by kevinAlbs 2014-08-26T02:57:00

I didn't get 'connected worlds' (maybe I didn't get far enough?), but it was pretty fun. Good use of pressure. Felt fair. I will have to come back and finish this. It kicked my butt :)

Dungeons and Diapers by lasagnegames 2014-08-31T17:23:00

hehehe funny :) controls are a little weird, but I like the concept!

Merge by vicious_br 2014-08-26T14:18:00

Wow. Dripping with style and 'juice'! So cool, love love love the soundscape. You put the work into the places that matter. I need to get into that habit. Excellent job!

> Continue by ratking 2014-08-31T17:11:00

Oh man this is the best! Love it! I hope it becomes super popular and the stories get bigger and better! Such potential!

Friendly Baubles by micahcowan 2014-08-31T17:05:00

Nice! Your interpretation of the theme was very unique. Loved the music, you are very talented :)

CATastrophe by Roknsk 2014-08-26T14:11:00

Well, a bit too simple/easy/boring, and there seems to be no 'winning'. But I liked the theme lot, and the music was awesome :)

Worlds Apart by ClownAround 2014-08-26T03:15:00

Well, I liked the theme and the narrative. There were some pretty bad collision bugs though. Could have been a bit longer. But I liked it :)

Galactic Dump by SoulGame 2014-08-31T17:21:00

good lord. what a fantastic game! how... how is this possible? this is going to win.

Spayce! by torcado 2014-08-26T14:33:00

Nice! I kept dying from the devils, but I see where this is going, and I like it. Good job! :)

Balance by miwuc 2014-08-31T17:59:00

Great interpretation of the theme! I would love to see this expanded and turned into a bigger game.

kunektd by brodavi 2014-08-26T14:07:00

@micahcowan aw that sucks! sorry, I don't have a Mac OS to test on :(

kunektd by brodavi 2014-08-26T14:36:00

@ratking aahhh sorry I don't have windows 7 either :( I wish I knew what the problem was

kunektd by brodavi 2014-08-26T14:37:00

@stoz thanks! there was going to be a point, but I ran out of time :P

kunektd by brodavi 2014-08-26T14:39:00

@Z.B.G.E. thanks! yeah that last one definitely needs work. it is just a slightly different-colored block that triggers it. it's dumb. yeah directions need to be clearer for sure. thanks!

kunektd by brodavi 2014-08-31T17:01:00

@ob6160 Thanks :) I had considered doing 16-bit era graphics, but just ran out of time. But I kinda like the 'adventure' feel to it too.

@SoulGame "This is ... strange" is the best praise I can imagine :) thank you

@lasagnegames thanks! yeah that last step is dumb. sorry :P

@miwuc yeah I had originally planned 6 worlds, with a much much longer running time. But you know... 48 hours. Good hint btw ;)
